Besides, who's going to enforce a 10-20 hit rule? Who's going to
keep track of all the people that must donate to what challenge
with what item? I mean be reasonable guys, I do have a day job.

I said some of this in the rookery but let me explain a little
better here.
First my proposal is to allow unlimited hits with two parts:
Part 1 is that there will be an honor system rule that members
who are hitting more than 10 or 20 times before 1 day is left
should be donating regularly to the challenges. This will not
be strictly enforced, although if anybody notices a "leecher"
and wants to comment on it then it can be discussed.
Part 2 is that anybody who finishes in the top 3 of the rankings
has to donate a rare item within 2 days to a future challenge.
This part of the rule would be enforced.
Now, here is my reasoning for this rule.
Allowing unlimited hits will make the challenges finish faster
and some members may miss out on the participation award.
However, in order to hit multiple times people will be pressured
into donating, so that hopefully we'll see challenges open up
more often. This should help counteract the downside.
The honor system did not work for only allowing 5 hits. Part of
the reason is that the only personal benefit to not overhitting
is following the rule and being a good citizen. The honor
system may work better for the new rule because there is a
personal benefit as well. The more people donate to challenges
then the more challenges will be open in the future. I am not
saying that this rule is for personal gain only, just that
enforcement may not be necessary because people will want to
follow the rule.
It should be easier to enforce the leaders' donation since it
doesn't require searching through chat logs or wondering if an
accidental overhit deserves punishment. When a challenge
finishes, the 3 leaders get a message that they need to donate.
I am open to modifications on this rule. For example, maybe the
leaders need to donate 3 items. Or that people should be
"required" to donate regularly if they hit more than 5 times at
all.

While I agree that overhitting should be strictly controlled, I
feel like the top donors should have a better way of being
rewarded. As of now, I have donated ~7 Mangonels to Braving the
Green Waters over multiple challenges. In none of those
challenges have I even come close to the top 3 because because I
simply don't have the activity level to guarantee being on as
the challenge hits the 24-hour mark. In fact, I don't think I've
hit any challenge more than 5 times because of how fast they go
down. I understand that there needs to be a system, but the
current system has no good way of rewarding the top donors. I'm
not going to let that stop me from donating, because I
understand that everybody is profiting from my donations, but I
would like a bit more of a chance at better rewards for the
constant stream of an item I payed gold to unlock. I'm not
asking to be given a top 3 spot automatically, just given a
chance.

I agree Atin. I do believe that in the future the top donating
people might be given the right to hit more than 5 times, but I
can't allow people to totally demolish a challenge in no time.
But we should try something new, because this method clearly
isn't working.

Why not have the top donators be given extra hits. Say 15 for an
example and then have them post in the rookery before they take
their hits. It's fairly easy to track and there is always
someone on. When they post they post this is my first set, my
second set etc... I would also suggest that no donations at all
be sent to a challenge until all the resources for the challenge
has been posted as being ready to donate. Then all the resources
be donated at once. That way the challenge doesn't happen to get
started at an odd time when no one is around. Then you get the
crap I didn't mean to start the challenge.
Just a thought.
Still the no over until 24 hrs. With a closed alliance everyone
will get the rule before anymore players come in. Then only a
slow trickle to make sure the new ones get it as well.

As this is a Domus Draconus matter, shouldn't this thread be in
the Domus Draconus barracks rather than the Question Corner?
I think the Shadowcat Challenge requires special set of rules
given it is a limited challenge with a maximum of 25-27 members
and a 1.05 million (1,050,000) damage requirement. Utilization
of the "Five hits" rule could cause the challenge to be
incomplete when time runs out.

i think the shadowcat challenge should be either off limits for
the time being till they sort out the bug or only heavy hitters
should donate and complete it, like vindication says it could
cause it to run out of time before it finishes especially if
with no disrespect meant we get 25 low level hitters in the
challenge.

I will still donate Valuable Prisoners to Shadowcat given it is
very beneficial to the alliance. But it would be nice if the
level requirement was enforceable or player were required to be
approved in some manner to join. however, I will hold back on
donating to Shadowcat until a decision is made.

I wish that Disruptor Beam gave much more control to the leader
of an Alliance, and as I've said, I'd kill for the ability to
appoint officers for the Alliance that have similar, but lesser
powers.
