Okay I'm bored of creating random polls that only 3 or 4 people
vote on. Let's talk about the Game of Throne show. We can talk
about favorite characters. Jackasses that need to be killed.
Random thoughts, I don't care. Please mark any and all spoilers
with an alert, and I will go through and hide them more
thoroughly. Seriously, I know some of you guys have short down
times in between missions, lets try and have a back and forth
discussion on this thread. Lets go people, make me do my job for
once. Haha.

So who do you guys think might be potentially the best ruler of
the Seven Kingdoms. I'm partial to Daenerys myself, but I also
think that Gendry could be decent, if that were to ever go
anywhere. Please try to exclude book knowledge, if you do
include it, please flag it so I can properly hide it.

Eddard Stark except for the obvious.
Jon Arryn if he wasn't dead.
Robert except for the same as Eddard.
Tyrion if he was not a Lannister.
Daenerys if she was completely sane which I doubt.
Stannis if not for Melisandre.
Gendry if he was he had the chance
Catelyn Stark if she could get the position.

Eddard wanted nothing to do with the throne. Jon Arryn there
isn't much info on concerning the throne. Robert was a poor king
that mainly drank booze, and put the Seven Kingdoms in debt.
Tyrion would be interesting, but probably not ideal due to being
a dwarf. Dany seems sane, but she hasn't seen the land she lays
claim to. Stannis, I agree, but he is also a bit to strict,
could potentially be like a modern day dictator. Gendry, agreed.
Catelyn, I totally disagree. I don't think she is cut out to be
a ruler in the slightest. She looks down on all bastards due to
Ned having one. That's a message that was conveyed slightly
better in the books though, but it is shown towards Jon in the
show.

I think of all of them, Tyrion would be the best ruler, if he
could get out from under the thumb of his house. Daenerys has
good intentions, but I think she's too idealistic. Tyrion, on
the other hand, is incredibly well-educated and has shown time
and time again that he knows how to get what he wants, and that
what he wants is usually for the good of the realm, even if it
requires taking a few heads.

Tyrion is rather cunning, I'll give you that. But if he were to
rule I could see him being assassinated in no time. I mean, it
seems like every cool character dies, so that would just do him
in for good if he became king.

I never meant he should be king; I meant he could probably rule
well but not necessarily from extremely public position. For
instance, he could be the hand or an advisor with a figurehead
king/queen.

I was just responding to insilhouette. But I won't lie, what you
just described sounds a lot like modern day England. A Queen
with a ruling Prime Minister. (Roughly)
