Can someone explain PtP for me. I am trying to understand the
differences in it. Attack, Barter, Intrigue. So when an alliance
member Barters you then they are actually helping you even when
       you lose?
The incoming shows who is attacking and the type of attack?
When you lose to a barter you lose money?
There isn't a very clear guide that I can find on the PtP
       system.

       Hi Scornzz
       what i think i understand :
fight is fight : if you loose you loose money
       Harrass : you loose money
       aid : i dont understand
       spy : you gain/loose information
       steal : you loose money
       sabotage : i dont understand
       swindle i dont understand
barter : both gain money but if you win your gain is better than
       if you loose
bribe : you loose money but in the name of the attack is
"barter" so you can think that your opponent want to be nice
       with you so
no barter action with someone outside your friend
i'm interested by other point of view

When you are defending, you have to defend against the type of
attack that is coming? You are not able to use a different
       defense?
       Thanks for the response LeLion.

Here is a slightly better explanation, I hope.
Player to player actions can be beneficial or harmful depending
on the action. There are three helpful actions, five harmful
actions, and one neutral action. Some of these actions have
special effects that will be applied to a player if the action
       is successful.
Fighting actions: Harmful; Will provide silver to the attacking
       player.
Harassing actions: Harmful; Will deplete the silver of the
defending player but will not give it to attacker.
Aiding actions: Beneficial; Will apply a virtue, or positive
       effect, to the defending player.
Bartering actions: Beneficial; Will increase both players
       silver.
Swindling actions: Harmful; Will take some of the defender's
silver, and it may appear as a bartering action. Be wary of
non-alliance members and non- friends who initiate bartering
actions as these may actually be swindling actions.
Bribing actions: Beneficial; Will remove a fault, or negative
       effect, from the defending player.
Spying actions: Technically neutral but may be a precursor to a
major attack; Will reveal defending player's stats to attacker
       for three days.
Sabotaging actions: Harmful; Will grant a fault to the defending
       player for 3-4 hours.
Stealing actions: Harmful; Will take silver from the defending
player and are similar to fighting actions.
Every attack has a corresponding defense that can be increased
with items, boons, and the application of talent points. Talents
can add further negative effects to attacks as well. For an
instance, swindling actions could also transfer faults from the
       attacker to the defender.
I hope this is helpful and for more detail check the wiki.

Vindication appears to have the best answer here.
