churning butter and cleaning the servery
   DIR By: Sera
       Date: August 23, 2012, 7:37 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
she steps into the servery and grabs a barrel on her way to the
cooler then opens the door and steps in gasping as the cold air
hits her warm flesh...she moves to the milk vat and skims the
cream off the top of the milk into the barrel she brought with
her then moves to the butter churn and pours the cream into it.
she sets the barrel down beside her and begins pumping the
handle to the churn up and down humming to herself as she
does...she continues pumping the handle up and down until she
can hardly move the handle then stops and removes the ball of
fresh made butter and goes to the molds and presses the butter
into one then takes it to the cold room and sets it on a shelf
next to the butter already there.
she moves back into the servery and moves to the shelves with
the drinking vessels and takes them all down and gets a cloth
wetting it with cleaning solution and wipes the shelves down and
takes a dry cloth to dry the shelves...she begins taking the
drinking vessels to the wash basin and begins washing them a
little at a time and dries them with a dry cloth and places them
back onto the shelves.. she continues this till all the drinking
vessels have been washed and put back on the shelves once she
finishes that she wipes the counters and all surfaces down then
she moves to the racks and cleans them and then the ovens making
sure they shine after she finishes doing that she then cleans
the butcher blocks and cutting boards once she finishes that she
gets the broom and sweeps the servery floor starting at one end
making her way to the other after sweeping the floor she takes
the basin out to the edge of the forest and dumps the dirty
water out and returns to the servery placing the basin back
where it goes she takes a empty barrel to the stream and fills
it with water and returns to the servery she then pours the
water into the kettle to boil and goes back to the streams an
fetches more water and returns to the servery and pours the
water into the basin once that's done she places the barrel back
where it goes and moves to the kettle and takes the kettle to
the basin and pours the heated water into it then puts the
kettle back in its proper place then moves back to the basin and
adds a small amount of soap flakes to the water and mixes it she
then grabs the scrub brushes and goes to her knees and begins
scrubbing the servery floor from one end to the other pulling
the basin along with her as she does. making sure she scrubs
every corner crevice and crack leaving no dirty spots behind
when she finishes she rinses out the scrub brush and puts it in
the bucket she got it out of then takes the basin out to the
edge of the forest and dumps the water out of it and takes it
back to the servery then she goes and gets more water from the
stream and returns to the servery pouring that water into the
basin and goes back to the edge of the forest and moves the
water around the basin as she pours it out to rinse the basin
clean then returns to the servery putting the basin back where
it goes... she looks around making sure she didn't miss anything
then steps out of the servery and goes outside and walks down
the path and goes and sits by the stream for a while.
