Tron: Legacy

I also saw this movie with my family, the day after Christmas.
It was in 3-D, like many movies now are starting to turn to.
Tron: Legacy centers on Sam Flynn, a guy whose dad was the
software engineer and CEO of ENCOM. His dad, Kevin, goes missing
when Sam is only a kid with no one knowing where or why he
disappeared. An older Sam investigates a strange message from
the Flynn Arcade. He is accidentally transported to a digital
world ruled by Clu, a program designed by Kevin, who wants to
create a perfect world. After facing off against Rinzler,
champion of the games, and a copy of Clu, Sam is saved by a girl
known as Quorra. Quorra take Sam to his father and Sam figures
out what he must do---make his way back home and stop Clu.
I was so excited for this movie to come out. I mean after I saw
the world on Kingdom Hearts 2, I was so curious about it. In
fact, I guessed they would remake Tron before there was news
about it. Overall, the movie was beautiful and awesome in it's
visual effects however...the storyline fell short of the movie's
visuals. Just like Avatar, the directors put so much effort in
the look and not the substance---ultimately making it
unsatisfactory to me. (Though I won't lie, I'd love to see the
lightcycle battle again)
