First impression of Umineko?

I thinked that it would be a bad sequel for higurashi ,but Im
glad I made a Mistake...

To tell the truth; it took me several days before i found out
that they were related in any way (higurashi and umineko)
Okay well to start it off; reading the visual novel, about 15
minuets into it I was horrified at the fact that Battler, Maria,
George, and Jessica were main characters....I thought Battler
was incapable, George was too "daddy-like", Jessica was normal,
Maria was a steriotypical eerie loli
WOW WAS I WRONG; of course, you almost never start out liking
the things that you end up loving!

I watched Umineko before I watched Higurashi, so I was like
"Who's Rika, I see no Rika in here, stop lying about a new
character I haven't seen yet" Then after I watched Umineko, I
found out about Higurashi, and I was like "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh, my
bad"
At first I thought Umineko was a bit boring, then after a week I
watched Episode 2, and then I thought it was pretty good (still
like Higurashi's theme song better though, not season 1, that
sucks, but season 2 theme song is awesome) Then I found out it
was a Visual novel, then i found out what a visual novel is, and
I've liked Umineko ever since
But not Ep 8, that was a troll ending if what i've heard is
right....... Highlight to see what I'm dissapointed about (IS
SPOILER) *She's a cake, a goddamn cake, WTF is up with that,
sorry, but Lambdadelta being a cake is too fail for me to
comprehend....... and Battler got amnesia, that's how he thought
of each story.....* End highlight here

My friend told me that seakitty was completely different from
higurashi back when ep2 or 3 was out. That made me throw out any
expectations of seakitty following in higurashi's footsteps
which I'm glad I did because seakitty is truly different from
higurashi and even most other murder mysteries.
I definitely didn't expect seakitty to become as complicated,
fourth-wall breaking, chock full of meta scenes, and other
mind-blowing concepts when I read ep1.

The first time I ever heard/seen Umineko was from the first UMG.
I heard it was a sequel to Higurashi but was shocked when I saw
different characters. Then I saw the butterflies and was really
confused... lol
But I'm glad I stuck with it and continued to find out stuff
about it and such. :D

I'm on a CLAMP forum as well as here and one of my friends on
there, Subaru-kun (who is really a girl), loved Higurashi and I
tried reading it all but I got too freaked out and I thought
Umineko was going to be the same. But she kept talking about all
the characters, especially Kanon and she begged for me to watch
it. I did and...I thought it was cool though I won't deny I get
freaked out with the murders. I was wide-eyed and everything and
thought: OMG! ITS X ALL OVER AGAIN!
Battler was an instant favorite and since I've heard Beato laugh
I've tried (and failed) to imitate that laugh.

But yeah my friend informed me of the sqeaual to Higurashi with
newer character and I searched high and low for it but never
found it until recently. It was funny I really hated Beato at
first and then I fell in love with her...does this make me
Battler? XD.
But I've always loved violent animes.
