Subbed or Dubbed?

Which version of animes do you watch? And which do you think is
better?
I'll admit, until I knew of the word 'anime' and the existence
of youtube (both of which I discovered in 5th grade) I watched
the dub of shows. However, once I heard of the 'original'
version I began to watch more and more sub to the point that
most dubs would make my ears bleed. I'm sorry, to me the US
doesn't do the best job of dubbing (case and point: 4kids).
I love subs but I won't deny there are good dubs out there. I
can list some I've watched:
Black Lagoon
Code Geass
Cowboy Bebop
Fullmetal Alchemist
...and basically any anime that is/was on adult's swim.

I like Subbed amine's better (even though i'm not a huge anime
fan) Dubbed American Animes are horrible, they don't sound as,
for lack of a more awesome word, Authentic, it's good-ish, but
Japan makes it millions of times better, so Subbed sounds more
awesome (not to mention the fangasm that is made whenever i hear
the anime say Beatrice in Umineko, America would say it
boringly, and i would be sad)

I totally agree but I think the one dubbing I cannot stand the
most is ones for the kids shows. The shows that are dubbed like
yugioh were originally for teens in Japan. Trying to make teen
to kid friendly isn't the brightest ideas. Especially since they
have teenage themes. Like oh I don't know...exposure of both men
and women, mentions/usage of alcohol, cigarettes, etc, and
violence.

I HATE how they did that to Sailor Moon; cutting out all of the
gay men, genderbending, suicide, emoness, blood(except for a few
small instances), and satanic rituals (along with cutting out
the character's constant horrific deaths) and also making some
gay men into women for the dubs....that was just freakin
weird...
Although I slightly understand them censoring out the
pedophiles....BUT STILL Sailor Moon was originally for older
teenaged girls which sucked quite a bit when you see how the
anime went
BUUUT I'm still more for manga than anime (It's just kindof me)
ehehe
But yeah, things like Dragonball SO EXTREMELY VIOLENT (I
mean...innocent children are slaughtered without any ryme or
reason) and yet America made it so----KIDFRIENDLY that I can't
stand it

I liked hellsing dubbed because it made you feel more like you
were watching a show set in london, not japan. you also got all
the different accents in ultimate, such as the spanish guy, the
british, the americans, the germans, the romans, and the irish.
with it subbed you really don't fell all the different cultures
involved.
As for kid friendly shows... I personally think that because of
american medias puritanical tendencies, most have lost all
respect for most anime, Because anyone who see's f**king
yu-gi-oh or americanized sailor moon, is going to think "WTF is
wrong with the japs? anime suck! screw this! i'm watching family
guy!"

Oh man, if that's the case PLEASE get good dubbing companies
soon! Like the ones from adult swim.....
Funamation sorta teeter-toters with me. I mean dubs like
Higurashi...I haven't watched the whole series and well...I
wasn't impressed. However, I bought Darker than Black DVD and
although I still like the subs, the dubs were not bad.

ViZ Media does ALOT of good dubbing now-a-days (although they
used to REALLY SUCK ASS when they started out *example: Jojo's
Bizarre Adventure 1993 OVA dubbed* OH MY GOD! It's like they
weren't even trying)
But FUNimation is...alittle okay (not really what I would call
the best, but Ouran was dubbed pretty good *although the crap
that they did to the opening theme...good God was it just the
worst*)
Some anime will go into small FAIL bits because of the dubbing
though (In the first episode of the Death Note anime; Light was
told to translate a phrase in English which the teacher says in
Japanese BUUUUT in the Dub, it just sounds like Light is
repeated exsatly what he's saying which hardly seems
"impressive")

But one would have to be a fool and not have been paying any
attention in order to think "Hey! He just repeated that teacher
dude!" I thought it was pretty obvious that light was in
english class, and i do not think that the company who dubbed it
could have thought of a better way.

they could have it backwards (have him translate it into
japanese) which would still make sense
