Be the Detective (EP6 Spoiler)
By: Iblis Date: October 28, 2011, 1:20 am
---------------------------------------------------------
So I finished EP6 a few days ago and what I'm wondering is...How
did Beato do it? The easy answer would be to just accept that
she was a witch and let kanon die, slip into the closed room
battler was in without breaking the duct tape seals, switch
places with Battler and then find a way to escape from the
closet. But it kept alluding to the idea that it has to be able
to be explained with human tricks...I wonder if I could figure
it out...
What we know:
Erika never defined the seals on the windows to be intact upon
inspecting the guest room
The loophole to Knox's 7th is if the detective cuts the heads
off of all the supposed dead bodies to ensure they stay dead
0_0;
Kanon is the one to save Battler from the closed room
What I think I know:
Beatrice eliminated the possibility that there was a wordplay on
Kanon's true name by lumping him together with 'everyone'
There should be no trap doors in the closet due to Knox's 3rd
My theories:
1: Kanon confessed his love for Jessica in one room and in the
room next door George confessed his love for Shannon in front of
everyone. Hideyoshi was ok with the idea of his son marrying
Shannon but Krauss did not approve of Kanon marrying Jessica. He
saw it as a taunt from Kanon the true murderer to all these
people to try and get this crazy love scheme to work and shot
him. Those bullets knocked the glass paneling of the window
loose and let Kanon fall out of the window. He would then make a
run for it, anywhere he could, which ended up just happening to
be where Battler was leaving and either by convincing or by
simple luck Kanon went into that room, went into the closet and
died thus no longer existing. Its also possible that if Battler
was the culprit, he was working with the servants to try and
recreate the epitaph and perhaps Kanon was giving his life to
such a cause for the promise of fulfilling that debt he was
talking about...Perhaps he purposefully wanted to be ejected out
so he could save Battler...Its hard to tell becuase Erika cut
the tale off short.
2: Something happened that caused the floor beneath the two
rooms to fall apart letting all of them out without tampering
with the seals. If this is true then Beatrice just choose Kanon
to save Battler to further confuse Erika, because at that point
she literally could have used anyone...Is this allowed? It
almost sounds as ridiculous as the small bomb theory.

Battler's escape along with the final red truth in ep6 was
widely debated back in the day.
One of the more creative theories was that the two guesthouse
rooms were connected with a door in between them (like in a
hotel). A variation on this theory was that one smaller room was
inside the other larger room (coins and cups riddle). Both of
these gives Kanon (and Shanon, if you believe in Shkanon) a
method for evading the room checks of who was in which room.
As for setting the mansion's guestroom's chain lock, general
consensus was a death of some sort for Kanon
(furniture/personality but not physical). That would allow for
both the death of Kanon and a solution to the final red truth
with some liberal interpretations.
One other theory was that Erika is a name for more than one
person, specifically Kanon and Shannon. What this means is that
Kanon and Shannon are Erika. Erika is not Kanon alone. Erika is
not Shannon alone. Erika is Kanon and Shannon. So wherever Erika
goes, Kanon and Shannon would be there. Well, this should make
things quite easy to explain so I will spare you the details.
Well either way, there was some questionably unfair wording
especially with the final red truth based on Battler's comment
before it was said.
One last method would be...
( this will be a spoiler for the deeper parts of ep6, 7, and 8 )
[spoiler]Author Theory - Different authors were responsible for
writing the games. Yasu/Beato claimed authorship of ep1-2,
Hachijo claimed authorship for ep3-8. The limits of a red truth
are decided by each author individually. Some red truths apply
to all games yet some are specific and time-sensitive for one
game only.
Furthermore, the definitions of certain key words are also up to
the author's discretion. People, humans, bodies, corpses may all
mean the same thing or completely different things depending on
the author.
In other words, the final red truth of ep6 can be dodged by a
very liberal, word twist, cop out solution of some sort.
Erika: "I am the visitor, the 18th human on Rokkenjima!!"
Battler and Beato: "Even if you do join us, there are 17
people."
