       Anime Club Help!
By: Kirei Ryuusei Date: July 31, 2011, 2:19 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Okay, here's the situation. I'm going to be a senior in high
school this year and I really want to make sure that I make it a
great year before I graduate! But the problem is that I can't
figure out what to do. I was the club president in junior year
but I'm afraid the members don't think of me highly because of
       the following circumstances:
--My predecessor refused to help me claiming 'I could do fine on
       my own'
       --My staff was MIA nearly every meeting (VP-unable to come;
       secretary--my predecessor; historian--never coming;
treasurer--came every once in a blue moon)
--The area I lived in faced bad winter weathe and tornado
damages, and our sponsor is usually busy with soccer in the
spring so I would have to organize it with another teacher
One of the members told me that he believed I was a capable
person but I shouldn't do it all myself, but how can I get help
when no one's around to help? Also the members aren't helpful as
they stare at me most of the day and I feel like some kind of
clown entertaining the masses. Most of the guys say they want to
just watch anime or play card games. Yet when I come up with
some interesting ideas, people complain about the roughness of
it since it's the first time it was done.
This year, I'm hoping our freshmen influx is higher so we have
fresh faces and more lively ones. Also I'm hoping to get more
ideas done and get an officer position since I know that there's
a member running for prez this year but he's not the most
       responsible.
Does anyone have any ideas for what do?
I have looked up/done some things already:
--Karaoke (one of the biggest hits ever!)
--Anime Discussion (it's like babysitting 5-year-olds)
--Trivia (went well besides my secretary criticizing it)
--Learn the Language (everyone--including me--do not know the
       language itself. Only small phrases)
--Going out to restaurants/conventions (if they keep dodging the
membership fee, what makes me think they will play that?)
--Cosplay/drawing workshop (Uh...no one makes their own cosplays
and I only have my dear onii-chan to teach drawing)
I think games would be a big help. Please...I don't wanna be the
graduating class that as soon as I'm gone, the club collapses!
