       Vampire Academy

       Guilty as charged, I read vampire books. It's hard not read at
       least one when you enter a bookstore and they line up all the
       vampire books in front! Actually, an online friend of mine
       begged me so she had someone to talk about it with her.
       It's a series for anyone that likes reading about different
       interpretations of vampires (like I do), action, school life,
       and romance.
       The Vampire Academy series is told from the protagonist's point
       of view. Rosemary Hathaway (Rose), a dhampir (half-vampire) that
       wants nothing more than to be a guardian to her moroi
       (pure-blood vampire) best friend, Vasalisa Dragomir (Lissa).
       However, because her insubordination of running away with Lissa,
       Rose must have a tutor to catch up on her guardian studies. She
       is reluctant untill she meets her hottie of teacher, Dmitri
       Belikov. From there Rose must juggle her schooling and keep her
       affection for her tutor from letting her become Lissa's
       guardian. It only gets complicated when you add some Strigoi
       (evil vampires) to the mix.
       It was a pretty good series, only six books long with a side
       book coming out in August. Though in my opinion, I was let down
       with the last book.
