She had fought the sorceror as hard as she could. Even with her
skill, he speed, and mastery over Van Dine's
wedges...she...lost. Her body refused to move. Some bones were
sticking out in a grotesque manner. Gashes lined her skin as
blood oozed into a buffer between herself and the ground. Her
hair, matted with blood still had the streaks from the blood of
witches and wizards she killed. Her gold eyes were half-lidded
as the blood loss and pain threatened to make her los
       consciousness
The man--the Sorceror of Gateways--was the very epitome of her
hatred. She hated this man with a passion. He had taken away her
family and left her a survivor, a witness, to his power. Sibella
spent her life planning for the day she would kill him. Yet she
failed. Despite her efforts...she failed. The sorceror merely
stood over her with a vacant expression on his face. Silence
passed before Sibella cried, "Damn you! If you intend to kill
       me, do it now!"
Blood filled her throat. She coughed it out and was left
breathless as he remained motionless. She spat, "Oh I forget,
you blasted magic users enjoy a person's misery---their
suffering! *cough* Enjoying this sight?! *cough**cough**cough*
Go ahead and cackle, you damn wizard! I've failed and am reduced
to a miserable husk! So why aren't you laughing?! Laugh like you
       did that night *cough*!"
Sibella couldn't understand that expression on his face. It
seemed sad, pitiful. Was he pitying her? Sibella kept screaming
profanities and hacking out her vital fluid. When it seemed
enough blood escaped to where her consciousness was slipping and
her voice was gone, did the wizard speak, "Are you ready to end
       this farce?"
Farce? Sibella echoed in her head. What about her proclamations,
her ambitions, her words were a farce. She could no longer
answer. The wizard held his palm open. Fire sparked into his
palm, "Then I shall turn it to you..."
The SSVD became lax as death was supposed to grip her at the
same time the flame reached her body. She expected darkness but
       light filled her vision.
Sibella was in a fancy room. She knew she had never seen the
room before yet felt an air of nostalgia, “Where…is this?”
“Have you gone mad? Do you wish to be slain?” the Sorceror of
Gateways was speaking to another person. It could’ve been real
since he hadn’t noticed Sibella. She watched his back and heard
a subdued voice answer, “I have been intoxicated by the spirits
of lunacy for many centuries now so the experience of
death…would be an experience unlike others, Janus.”
“Don’t do this,” Janus begged. From where she was, the detective
couldn’t see who he was talking to, only hear that it was a
woman--a witch. She didn’t sound like other witches, sneering
and condescending, whom cackled and dreamt of others’
misfortune. The witch seemed as if she was…lackluster and bored,
but unlike Bernkastel, the witch had no concern on the affairs
       of people.
Janus wondered, “Is there nothing I can do to convince you
       otherwise?”
“No offers or pleas could deter me,” the dead tone finalized. He
bowed his head slightly, moving aside. Sibella could finally see
who the man she hated was talking to. She was dumbfounded. The
witch…was her. It looked exactly like she had been before Van
Dine’s trial only younger. Black hair unmarred by red streaks
and gray eyes. She was in a black dress with white ruffles. A
veil set to the side was alongside her hair. The witch stood,
“for my existence becomes weary of millenia of idleness and
       hindrance.”
“Lady Seyella, please reconsider. I could search for an
amusement for you,” the wizard insisted. Seyella shook her head,
“Witches have failed to evolve within the centuries of
observation. They merely sneer at those below them causing
mischief, grief, and chaos. And all for what? Ease of their own
existence. It has lost its luster.”
“As you wish, my lady, but if I may, suggest a wager to you?”
Seyella’s face didn’t change however she retorted, “If you
       wish.”
“When you become human, if you are able to defeat me without
your magic, you may continue your fancy of seeking retribution.
And if you are not…you remain in your position as the Witch of
Destiny.” Janus told her firmly. She blinked, closing her eyes
in thought, “As you please, Janus.”
Sibella was returned to reality. Or what was supposed to be
reality. She was so confused at the vision. What did it mean?
Did it mean she was a lie? That she was…in fact, witch?
       Blackness overcame her.
Bethany arrived along with Shiki, Yasuda, Will, and Dlanor. The
       Siesta cried, “Sibella!”
Janus looked up at the group when a gust of wind blew, nearly
knocking everyone over. It lifted Sibell’s prone form up. It
made her stand up before her clothes melted into a dress. Her
gold eyes gone with her hair clean of red streaks. She didn’t
look at everyone, but more of coming terms of what occurred,
       “Sibella!”
She turned with the vacant expression, “Ah, I have been
defeated. Quite a tragedy. Especially when I could have
eventually faced with death as Sibella.”
       “What are you talking about?”
“I apologize for not clarifying,” the witch bowed. “I am known
as many names. However, the one that beings of your stature
would refer to me as is the Witch of Destiny.” Will and Dlanor
guarded their students, “The Witch of Destiny?”
“However, I have long since grown tired of such a title, please
to refer to me as Seyella,” she mentioned in a casual tone.
Bethany was surprised, “Sibella, you’re a witch?”
“Consider the lessons from the Golden Sorceror, Ushiromiya
Battler,” Seyella informed, “This is like a chess board, and the
entity known as ‘Sibella’ is my piece. However, now the time has
come for this piece to be removed, and for this player’s game to
end. I have lost to you, Janus, so I will continue as the Witch
       of Destiny. How dull.”
Will said, “You know that because you’re a witch--”
“The SSVD, the Eiserne Jungfrau, and other agencies the Great
Court of Heaven shall attempt to execute me, correct?” The Witch
of Destiny responded before closing her eyes. “I am well-aware
of these procedures as I have been hunted by you and your
       predecessors since the agencies’ establishment.”
SSVD and Eiserne Jungfrau weren’t the oldest witch-hunting
agencies made. However, the oldest was made well over thousands
ago. If that was the case, this witch--the Witch of Destiny--was
thousands of years old. This meant compared to Seyella, Beatrice
was only a chick. Even the Witch of Certainty and Witch of
Miracles were babes beside her. She spoke in her austere manner,
“If you desire to attempt to kill me, please do so on another
occasion when your strength is at it’s fullest. Until then” she
       curtsied “please excuse us.”
The Sorceror of Gateways disintegrated a wave of flames while
the Witch of Destiny became engulfed in fire. The flame then
formed into a bird. A phoenix. It cried before taking flight and
       disappearing into the air.

       action.
I wonder why Battler isn't very fatherly to Chiyo since they got
to the island...makes me wonder... ???
