       You claim that Ukraine wanted

However, it is Russia that started the war against Ukraine, and
if this war is not an existential threat – with the whole West
against Russia – because of the nuclear weapons that Russia
possesses, then how can the fact that Russia poses an
existential threat? Ukraine moves away from Russia's sphere of
influence? It is clear that such a situation would be much more
benign than the war we have now. The Kremlin chose to go to war.
Even now, Russia feels safe enough to continue the war, even
with Western countries supplying Ukraine with weapons. In my
opinion, this has nothing to do with security, but with
imperialist interests and the imperial ideology that
       characterizes the Russian regime.
He has an imperial vision towards the post-Soviet space and,
specifically, towards the Ukraine. You cannot tolerate Ukraine
being a sovereign country. That is the essential. to get closer
to the West. If we look at Russia's trajectory at the beginning
of this century, we see that it too had the same purpose.
However, in apparent contradiction to this situation, we have
seen that Russia is not afraid of confronting Telegram Number
       Data

the West directly, whether in the Ukraine
or in Syria and other countries, perhaps as no other country has
done. How do you explain this contradiction of XXI century
Russia? I fully agree that it is a paradox and difficult to
explain using existing theories of imperialism.

There is no prepared explanation for this kind of situation. But
if we go back to Lenin and Trotsky, a concept that we can use to
better understand Russia is uneven and combined development. As
part of the global capitalist system, we can see features of
uneven and combined development in Russia. If we go back more
than 100 years, the former Tsarist Russian empire was
economically weak, but it had a disproportionately large
military and equally disproportionate influence in world
       politics.
