       Population Migration Errata

       This story was hard to place in any of the other Errata threads,
       so I started a new one. :)
       People leaving one place to try a different one isn't Dieoff,
       and the reasons vary.  It can be economics, politics or climate
       change.  Or some combination of these variables.
       In this case, you have former Coffee farmers trying to make the
       journey north and cross over (illegally) to the Greener Pastures
       of the FSoA.  Except of course, it's not greener for growing
       coffe, since the climate here is not suitable for that.  They
       likely have few other skills, and the journey by itself is
       difficult and dangerous.
       If they do manage to cross the border, life as an Illegal Alien
       is quite difficult itself.  Constant fear of deportation.  The
       lowest of low paid jobs available.  Little access to public
       services.  If you get sick or shot, you can go to an ER and they
       will treat you if the situation is dire enough, but if you do
       manage to recover, you'll probably get deported.  You can't vote
       of course.  Regardless, these folks roll the dice on the
       migration journey, because there is SOME chance they might
       survive, whereas there is NO CHANCE if they stay where they are.
       On the Dieoff issue, the migration is Good Newz for the target
       country, because it means a constant influx of more slave
       workers.  For the country they are exiting however, it's very
       Bad Newz.  It means in addition to lower birthrates and higher
       deathrates, you have the outward migration.  So the population
       drops even more precipitously.
       So, in a few years time, who is left to grow the coffee in
       Honduras?  Not good newz for Starbucks.
       For the target country, where do we get the new slaves to pick
       the lettuce?  Or clean the Resort Hotel rooms and wash the
       dishes?  We're not breeding new ones fast enough ourselves.
       Thus Elon Musk is worried about population decline.  Without the
       slaves, the class of Billionaires also dies off.  That is the
       Predator-Prey cycle once again.
