Daniel Baker sentenced to federal prison in Florida Capitol
threat case.
So why am I starting a new thread about Julian Assange with
Daniel Baker?
Baker is assraped by Uncle Sam's courts. Uncle Sam's courts
want to assrape Julian. There was much activity outside of
Belmarsh Prison today. Another GC member can post something
about what is happening with Julian. If a day goes by without a
post I will find something.

Daniel Alan Baker, 34, of Tallahassee, Florida was sentenced to
forty-four months in federal prison for two counts of
transmitting a communication in interstate commerce containing a
threat to kidnap or injure another person. The sentence was
announced by Jason R. Coody, Acting United States Attorney for
the Northern District of Florida.[/quote]
[quote]Baker was arrested by agents of the Federal Bureau of
Investigation on January 15, 2021, after he issued a “Call to
Arms” for like-minded individuals to violently confront
protestors that may gather at the Florida Capitol in the wake of
the January 6 riots at the U.S. Capitol. He specifically called
for others to join him in encircling any protestors and
confining them at the state Capitol complex using firearms.
[glow=red,2,300]Baker posted[/glow] two such threatening
communications on January 12 and 14, 2021.[/quote]
Nobody in particular you do understand? Daniel finds out
talking to a prison wall is free speech. Once Julian is in
prison he gets taken out.
[move]Guilty of two counts of transmitting a communication in
interstate commerce containing a threat to kidnap or injure
another person.[/move]

K-Dog I have much sympathy for Assange. I believe his crime
was naivete' about how far they would go to get him. Snowden,
correctly, had no such illusion.
I'm sorry but which of those 4 types of people, the theory you
put up referred to, would Daniel Baker fit into?

Wanting other people dead is willingness to cause harm to
others. Correct me if I am wrong.
Except when I want dead assholes because I am not serious.
It appears Daniel actions led to 3 years in prison and 3 more
under federal supervision. Results of actions which appear to
be under Daniels control and actions that could not benefit
himself, so the verdict must be [glow=red,2,300]STUPID[/glow].
Daniel considers his actions are intelligent, I will guess.
The common denominator between Daniel and Julian is free speech
denied.

I understand how Julian is getting hosed. Those of us who have
been in close proximity to, you know, felony charges, lawyers,
judges waving gavels and stuff, understand that some folks take
that law **** seriously. And saying you are going to do
something bad, and then backing it up with even meager
demonstrable intent, isn't a free speech thing anymore. The guy
probably would have been fine if he had just stuck with the free
speech part, bitching and whining online.

Essentially I agree with you, but what do we know about this?
You can search and find some FBI approved news stories. Then
there is the truth.

Yup, I'm familiar with this quote as I'm sure most of us are.
And, I've put my ass on the line physically and in print with it
in mind. At one time I had it on the wall.
Regarding free speech: “To suppress free speech is a double
wrong. It violates the rights of the hearer as well as those of
the speaker.”
― Frederick Douglass
When fighting a giant opponent with unlimited resources the last
thing you want to do is give them leverage on you. You don't
threaten violence, whether in jest, as a symbolic reference or
to be taken seriously. You figure they are listening and
watching and waiting for you to do this. This is what they
want. It gets you nothing but trouble.
I once sat in front of a committee of congressional and Forest
Service staffers and told them that I was going to do every
non-violent thing I was capable of to stop oil and gas
development in an area of the Rocky Mountain Front sacred to the
Blackfeet. I told them that I was there because my
grandchildren were too young to be there and I was doing it for
them. In my statement I told them I would lie down in front of
the first bulldozer, when they arrested me I would refuse bail.
When they took me to jail I would go on a hunger strike and if
they let me out I would be back in front of the bulldozer again.
I told them they were going to have to kill me to stop me.
"You'll drill in the Badger Two over my dead body." You don't
say that unless you are ready to follow through. I was one of
many as it turned out. This was 20 years ago and they ain't
drilled yet.
You have to make them the bully - which they are. You don't
want to give them the excuse of being able to say you are a
danger to the public.
I was talking tactics, not the cause. Do I think the time he
got was excessive? Of course.
“If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who
profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men
who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain
without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the
awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one;
or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and
physical; but it must be a struggle. Power concedes nothing
without a demand. It never did and it never will.”
― Frederick Douglass

Even if you are found not guilty of a crime the legal mill will
not let you go easily or without heavy personal cost. Avoiding
legal trouble is always a good idea. Some gavel bangers get
serious wood putting people away. Prosecutors care about
winning not truth.
Justice is “what the judge ate for breakfast”.

Change figure to know.
I have been introduced. 'They', the surveillers, did not like
being surveilled on. Which I did. Good for the goose but not
for the gander apparently.
Which is how I found out about a thing called 'Operational
Security'. Which is a very big deal. I did not break any laws.
The situation which alerted me to their presence leaked info
into the public domain. I found it, no NDA on me. The hole has
since been plugged.
It there had been an NDA on my ass or any other legal instrument
restricting my freedom to divulge what I know I would have done
three years with Daniel, perhaps more. Except that I already
would have done the time and been out. Instead a game of cat
and mouse was played until I learned.
1 Nobody cares. The morality of surveillance is not something
the public at large is able to think about deeply. If you are
not doing anything wrong you have nothing to hide.

2 They can make my life a living hell anytime they want to.
Have you ever had three credit cards cancelled at once? I have.
After that I wast reamed by my wife, "Why do I have to pay for
your shit. I have nothing to do with this."
Therefore I will give no more details except to say the
situation I discovered remains ongoing.

Yes we can now have what we say deleted, modified and made up,
to implicate us of anything. That's a recent civilizational
advancement of the last few months. More sweeping emergency
powers are being tabled.
This guy produced paper flyers, so I'm going to assume the words
on them are his own and unadulterated , as I don't see any
arguments from anyone that they are not. I don't buy their
argument that as long as his intended targets did not show up,
there is no threat. He named who, when, where and how he
intended people joining him to go about it and not in self
defence. That's where he crossed the line beyond all the typical
threatening talk from weekend warriors. Something of a
go-getter, he had also been at the CHOP at the time of shooting.
His pattern is very Oswaldian, except for having handlers.
As long as there are net privileges he should be able to take
advantage of his fame. Take a break without needing to worry
about energy and food inflation for a while, talk show circuit,
book deal and motivational speaker bookings.
