Egg shortage could be related to meat and dairy price. People
switching to eggs as protein source they can still afford. There
isn't a shortage if the cage and barn variety are available as
suggested in the article. If they're not available, then it's
not just demand for free range.
The fruit and veg problem is price, you would have heard of 18$
lettuce in the news and they're predicting a coming price spike
across fruit and veg. It's on the shelf but out of reach.

The article doesn't indicate that there is a trucking problem
per se, but a downturn because of costs that limit the ability
of independents to make a buck. With corporate trucking making
up the slack and absorbing their share of the market. The good
news being that should things stabilize, independents will
probably expand for the same reasons they had in the past. The
interesting thing being, with wages high for the working man,
will they want to? Like one of the examples provided, the guy
had a company, now he eats at home every night and works for
wages and is doing fine.
I think working away from family regularly would be a diminished
life factor that would be difficult to make up for with money.

No way we can replace all the cars in the world with EV once,
let alone again after a decade. No way we could charge them all
anyway. Toyota led with hybrid about 15 yrs ago and now will
lead with hydrogen. Of course that still requires electricity.
How much water will be used and how will that water as vapour or
dripping on the road be recycled? How will oxygen concentration
be affected?
