Very interesting how almost 50 yrs ago they're talking about
2020 as a major inflection point:

Damn good video. I'd like to have a listing of the computer
code. I could get it running on a PC. As I did I would know
where to put in updated data. It could be a serious project. I
really doubt the code is all that complicated.
       Why hasn't somebody done this?

I downloaded the python code. I have also watched a video about
world3. Brian Hayes describes how the code works. It has a lot
of terms. Here is the video.

The case for a more radical climate movement. Author Andreas
Malm on the failures of climate activism and the need for
       escalation.

       Sean Illing:
I want to be as clear as possible about what you’re asking
climate activists and citizens in general to consider. You argue
that the ruling classes simply will not do what’s necessary. You
argue the movement should, and I’ll quote now, “Damage and
destroy new CO2 emitting devices. Put them out of commission,
pick them apart, demolish them, burn them, blow them up. Let the
capitalists who keep investing in the fire know that their
       properties will be trashed.”
Now, I think that’s about as clear as any statement could
possibly be. So let me just ask: Why do you think going in this
direction will succeed where other nonviolent approaches have
       failed?
       Andreas Malm:
Well, to begin with, I don’t know that it would succeed. It’s
not like I have a crystal ball where I’ve seen that we’ll win if
we start doing this. But I think that the situation is so dire,
so extreme, that we have to experiment, have to try. What we
tried so far has only taken us so far. It’s given us limited
success, but we still haven’t managed to dent the curves and
bring emissions down and start the transition.

Depends on your definition of "success".
Will more Homo Saps be saved? No.
However, more Multinational CEOs and Investors will be
impoverished this way, and eventually Guillotined. Retribution
       is another form of success.

       Today's Collapse Hurricane Forecast

  HTML https://fortune.com/2021/09/25/what-a-modern-energy-crisis-looks-like-and-why-no-country-is-safe/
"How bad is the energy crisis in China?
The situation is widespread. In recent days, factories in 20 of
China’s 31 provinces have suffered a loss of power, forcing many
to shut down production, at least for hours at a time. Millions
of households in the north-east of the country have also lost
power and found that they cannot use electricity to heat or
       light their homes."
       RE's Collapse Hurricane Forecast Track:
  HTML https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/new-tc-graphics/images/cone_5day_no_wind.png
Low Wind Shear, Social Ocean Temperature high, Barometer
Falling, Wind Speeds increasing through Rapid Intensification to
Cat3. Wave Heights 10-15', Tides 10-15' above normal, Flash
Flooding in selected locations along with possible Tornadoes.
The forecast Cone shows a 90% chance of serious energy
disruptions globally this year. The Spaghetti plots in my
Supercomputer Brain are in general agreement with a few outliers
like maybe a Planet Killer Asteroid hits first or a Unicorn will
shyit Fusion Reactors sprinkled around the globe JIT.

Perhaps military recruits doing DoorDash is in out future ???
       The Untold Truth Of DoorDash
  HTML https://www.mashed.com/202330/the-untold-truth-of-doordash/
But this is nothing to freak out about so pass the popcorn. The
military has been used to solve labor problems for a long time
in America. Since 1894. The Pullman Strike. The Ludlow
massacre in 1914. and lots more. In more recent memory air
traffic controllers were replaced by the military when air
traffic controllers went on strike. Ronny Ray-Gun.
The military works for the government and the government works
for corporations. You can make the connection and that leaves
you with the military being a safety valve for capitalism.
Everybody is a tool of money now.
