       StarLink Satellite Tracker

I read that StarLink was already pretty far along, but this site
gives a visual idea of it:

I think the little white dots are currently active satellites.
I remember thinking that the night sky is kind of the last
frontier in terms of being polluted. I'd rather see stars than
satellites whizzing by, but I think they said they were trying
to reduce the satellites' visibility so that is good to hear.

The night sky is something I'm really appreciating here at the
homestead. The view is already great out by the barn, but in the
horse paddock it is striking. There is no artificial light out
there at all so all the stars are visible.
I think some president once said we'd all be better off if we
looked up at the stars more regularly. It simultaneously reminds
you that your problems aren't actually so big, while also
reminding you that you're a real part of this vast universe
that's been around a real long time now. I've never looked up at
the stars and thought, "Gee that was a waste of time".

The night sky is pretty good out at the lake house, but the
neighbors two doors down have a horrible security light that
ruins it. I have a new neighbor next door (between us) that
doesn’t like it either. There is even some discussion that it
might not even be the neighbors light, but rather something put
up by the local city government. It wasn’t there ten years ago
when I bought my place, but I can’t rightly remember when it
       appeared, exactly.
The house where it’s located is owned now by an 80 y.o.
widow.....her husband having passed sometime in the last several
years too, while I wasn’t paying attention.
The roof of the boathouse I built during lockdown would be a
fantastic place to stargaze from....if we can just get rid of
the damn light. And yes, I have thought about shooting it
out.....but I guess I’m too law-abiding in my old age.
