And other people are responsible for their own bad behavior.
All I ever said (and I said it on the Diner many months ago now)
is fairly well encapsulated in this piece from Vanity Fair. I am
no longer a voice crying out in the wilderness. The worm, as.
they say, has turned on this one.

That is a very good article. Well balanced and probing.
       [/quote]
I thought so.....so is the one by Nicholas Wade, which preceded
it and sort of connected all the dots for the first time.
This guy Dazak is a real tool, I think, and he’s at the center
of the whole mess ...and now the Lancet has put him in charge of
“the further investigation”. Talk about putting the fox in
charge of the henhouse. He has a huge bias. Im sure his
investigation will “show” one again how absolutely impossible a
       lab leak would have been.
Remember that the Lancet was at the center of the cover-up last
year, with their big denial article.
I think the editors of the Lancet are working very hard to
whitewash the whole thing...because powerful people don’t want
to stop doing gain-of-function research. jmho

My angst against those who say [shadow=gray, left]it came from a

natural origin is a ridiculous possibility.
The Lancet picked a horse to ride, so they ride.

I don't care where it came from, nor do I think it is very
important. Disease can be spawned either way, and will be
moving ahead. Future pestilence will be far worse than this
one, which was pretty minor. It's not even as bad as the
Spanish Flu of 1919. It's barely put a dent in Global
Population. Get back to me when we have something that knocks
down at least 100M a year.

It's very important to pin it on xi harvy oswald to get stupid
shlubs to send every millenial they know off to die. If they
only learned about gain of function from the MSM in the last few
months instead of over a year ago, you can trust them to also
       know not much else.
How stupid do you need to be to believe you funded this research
without knowing what it was and wanting it for a reason. VF
didn't mention the US researchers only left WIV on Dec 29 2019,
after trump pulled the funding on Sept 11 2019 and they took
down the publicly available data. You don't think the pandemic
starting some time in that 3-4 month period instead of any other
time in the past decade via a lab leak isn't slightly suspicious
Virginia? Speaking of which, VF makes no mention of demands for
the records of the nursing home in VA only 50 miles from a
biolab shut down after 100 yrs or more in operation, plus
patient records of US hospitals be made available for
investigation and in particular the sick US athletes at the
military games. CDC would say WHO doesn't need those, those
fogies definitely died from vaping along with all the others
       suffering outbreaks of lung injury.
VF tells you some blogger that coordinated the US alphabet
agency investigators along with euro scientists (obviously not
the ones from Italy and Spain saying they had covid already in
the fall of 2019) 'pushed back against conspiracy theories' such
as the straw man that the athletes were infected by WIV and
blinkered gullible readers don't even know that's not what
literally billions of people suspect. I don't know how readers
believe the claims that all these spooks from weapons
proliferation prevention were genuinely shocked by revelations
about gain of function, or that they have Intel from 'sources
close to the intelligence agencies' (no names of either the
agents or the supposedly sick WIV workers). Then the
opthamologist in Wuhan who was turned in by his own colleagues
for posting on WeChat instead of telling the Hospital
Administrator he thought SARS is back is a celebrated
whistleblower in china? If they can swallow all that, they would
believe Colin Powell turning up today with a new tip on WMDs.
Does anyone know if Dean Koontz 1980 novel about a pandemic
starting at WIV, or Gates event 201 in NY in Nov 2019 predicting
that Asian economies would recover quickly compared to the west
in the event of a pandemic, said china would use a regular dead
virus vaccine? Their military get an mRNA though for some reason
that might become clear later. Because that's the best evidence
of them being culpable, not this story put out by media with
exclusive inside access to agencies specialising in hiding the
truth. They neglect to even mention the timing of the US pulling
out of the WHO meaning it can't be investigated with over 100
countries that signed on, while critiquing the investigation at
great length. They're hardly intrepid investigative journalists.
There's a reason for all the calls to let scientists and not
intelligence agents investigate the origins of covid. Something
to do with genome sequencing and which strains precede others
and where they're found, starting with the study by Dr Forster
of Cambridge for an English language paper. If VF is right, he
should have found the first patients and epicentres in Chinese
       communities in every country.

This is up on ZH.....and if it’s correct, it’s very damaging to
the Chinese narrative, not to mention he US narrative.. This
piece says that US money went to fund a PLA military scientist
who was working with the bat woman.....and that he actually
applied for a patent for a COVID-19 vaccine BEFORE there was
public knowledge of a pandemic. This is being reported as a
       confirmed fact.
  HTML https://www.zerohedge.com/political/fauci-funded-wuhan-military-scientist-filed-covid-vaccine-patent-days-after-pandemic
The vaccine patent guy is now conveniently dead.
If so, it does mean COVID-19 was around WAY before any of us
heard about it, and the two obvious possibilities are that (1)
it was out there in the wild many months before the pandemic
(otherwise why would anybody NEED to make a vaccine.....you
don’t make vaccines for viruses that don’e exist and don’’t
represent a public health threat in the civilian world).....or
       (2) that it was being developed as a possible bioweapon that
COULD be released at some point. By somebody.
This thing has a lot of layers. The more we find out, the more
interesting it gets. I’m still trying to keep an open mind, but
I can’t help but believe that there is a huge secret here
that’s been papered over. very poorly. Maybe now that a lab
connection is being seriously looked at , we’ll learn more.
Fauci is up to his ass in this. So are some other powerful
people. We need to sort this out.

My old University, Flinders is mentioned in that article..
Anyway, I agree with what you're saying and would add three
things. 1 its nonsense it was all being done to get ahead of
nature, just in case. 2. The strain the WIV 'bat lady' developed
and is identified is close enough to covid 19 to reasonably
believe that it is precursor to covid 19. 3. Ignoring that US
researchers were there until the end of December along with
other countries who could have all taken samples back to their
own labs is obviously only for geopolitical reasons.
To me it appears supranational elites planned the whole thing
extremely cleverly. It is similar enough to flu/pneumonia that
it can be mistaken for it and spread undetected for some period.
It is also serious enough when identified as being as damaging
as tuberculosis to justify extreme measures, resulting in
greater govt control and consolidation of corporate ownership.
Nationalistic narratives are being presented to the different
domestic audiences with selective focuses. That looks like
leading to a generation dying in the Pacific and eastern Europe,
firstly for a boom in tanks, jets and ships, then construction.
I'm taking bets it won't go to plan.

I once had an Idea I took to my boss. A way to correct some
distortion in laser scanning. He went ape **** over the idea
ran out and patented it and gave me a $10 bill for legal
reasons. I never have thought my one and only patent was worthy
of a patent. But I have one.
A few years ago I filed an application myself for something
having to do with control of electric bicycles. I still have it
and I could get the application number off it if I looked hard
enough. I had 18 months to pursue it but I did not have the
money to continue funding my idea.
Bottom line from the above. I do know a bit about the
intellectual property management game. I'm only surprised the
Japanese did not try to patent it first. That is their thing.
Tie up ideas so they have to get paid.
Applying for a vaccine patent prior to a pandemic is no big
deal. I'm sure every idea for fighting an RNA virus gets a
patent application before anything else happens. Drug companies
have entire departments set up for this purpose I am sure.
Money is involved so don't expect it to make sense.

What they are claiming is not patenting any broad general idea,
but a vaccine for the specific profile of covid19. 4 days after
the Australian Murdoch press story broke, not one other media
outlet has repeated it, except ZH and Yahoo News. Neither of
those say they verified the story and only refer to the story in
the Weekend Australian. They at least provided a name and date
this time, but I'm guessing Fox and CNN couldn't find anything
in the patent registries or they would have rushed to press with
       the bombshell as well.
