Highbrow musings by someone who gets paid to masturbate.

Technology grows to solve problems. Creating an extreme
dependency on existing conditions. Add population pressure and
resource depletion, and existing conditions become temporary and
       can not maintain.
Add to that everyone wants free beer. Doom is inevitable.
       I too can masturbate.

       can.

I ran across Richard about a year ago. Richard is all about
dealing with narcissistic people. I suspect Richard had the
worst girlfriend of all time. The experience honed ideas in his
       head something like:
Gee. it people are **** in the head maybe the world is **** and
       we are all gonna die.
Richard thinks modern society is destroying humanity.
       So do we.
This is the most clearheaded critique of technology and progress
       I have seen.

You saved me from the motherfuckin' heat. I just finished
stacking the last of 12 tons of hay. So, that's 1 ton in the
pickup at a time loading and unloading and stacking.
       Thanks for posting this, K-Dog.
This is very good. It is obviously geared to those who have
lives with a frantic electronic soundtrack and a high rpm. (the
young) That is not me, but I get it. As a person who struggles
with and is wary of all sorts of tech "improvements" (It took me
35 years to trust automatic transmissions in pickups) I can see
the effect from an outsider perspective.
How technology will be steered toward mitigating the enfolding
demographic problem in the developed world will be fascinating -
only we aren't going to make it that far.
I'm sure we all have our ideas about what could have saved the
whole enchilada. Mine revolve around bringing nature back into
the human condition. These folks who are so stressed by social
media and and frantic, unfulfilling pace and condition of life,
are always pictured as being surrounded by concrete, glass,
steel, bright light and stark shadows, noise, crowds, endless
lines of vehicles and of course the phone They are surrounded
but alone. They need trees and some banjo music. Maybe a
       fishin' pole.
Humans need nature. Not just pretty trees and a babbling little
creek with chirping birds. (Nothing wrong with that!) They need
to model their own systems after natural flows and organization.
They need to be connected with their food, the rain, the wind.
They need to be aware- through consistent exposure - how the
world really works, how plants, mammals, birds, microbes and
insects interact to create an ecosystem - and a habitable
       planet.
It's not about planting more trees in the median of the
       interstate.
I found his take on spirituality to be refreshing.
His take on masculinity is interesting. I don't disagree at
all, but I do think this is one of those factors that will
change rapidly in the near future. As conflict increases, there
will be a shift back to the necessity of masculine behavior. Of
course, I could be wrong - it wouldn't be the first time. It
wouldn't be the first time today.
He did not address the energy issue. If energy supplies are
constrained, I believe it will have consequences to the tech
       universe. How could it not?
Regarding masculinity and, for that matter, public health -
Sperm counts are way down across the developed world. Autism
and ADHD are rampant. Suddenly we have rapidly increasing
numbers of children who don't know what sex they are. Why? Why
is it verboten to ask about forever chemicals, estrogen in the
water supply. Glycophosphates and other herbicides and
pesticides in the food? Why can't the effects of the massive
increase in electro magnetic bombardment on human development be
       studied - or even mentioned?
Must go move water, feed critters and pray for rain.

Pray for it to STOP raining up here. 3 weeks now of non stop

The presentation isn't very congruent with the content.
Frequently cutting to himself as Big Brother on a big screen,
plus the mood music. If he wanted to practice what he's
preaching he should be sitting under a tree with no more
background noise than birds chirping and trust us to form the
right frame of mind for ourselves from what he says, without a
sound track to suggest what he wants.
I've seen him before with the message "we are all becoming
more narcissistic". No we don't all have the grandiosity to
fancy ourselves as big brother in Orwells 1984 to begin with. Do
we all meet 5 of 8 criteria in the DSM? It's more complex than
he thinks. There are plenty of less atomized cultures where
taking responsibility is not taught at all and just because you
have some loyalty to tribe trained into you, doesn't mean you
extend it to anyone else. Nor does it mean individuals do not.
Most of what he said was reasonable, but he is the last one to
begin any of the prescribed "we need to..."s as a social media
sensation. That also disincentivises him recognising where
events have changed and he's not really talking about the
present situation. This is why he says "instead of the great
reset, I want a hard reset".
Criminalising masculinity is happening as he says he expects to
happen, but not because of the threat of violence. We have had
jails to deal with that for a long time. Rather it is the goal
of radical feminism allowed to drive policy, to enslave men and
that is progressing almost to completion. Unless you are at the
level of bill Clinton or Joe Biden and more useful getting away
with rape, all western men are now in the position of black men
walking among whites in slave days, or house pets who can be
abused by owners if they choose to. I won't go into detail,
unless anyone wants me to. Many are oblivious to this, but many
are not and the net effect is fully 50% of singles having given
up looking/trying and a projection that by 2040 about 70% of
women will be childless and living alone. As with the problem of
us all being coddled consumers as he sees it, it's being solved
by being poor becoming popular. The necessity of men to women
for the basic function of provision and protection again,
helping fill a shopping trolley and then getting it to the
carpark safely might make this change

I have been into Marianne for a while. I really like her. She
is definitely someone who gets it.
Marianne like Richard sees collapse from the social side.
Collapse from humans not being able to emotionally regulate
themselves. From our point of view as people who see collapse
as a consequence of human activity. Fouling our nest and using
up all the earth's stuff,. The social side of things highlights
why there can be no great awakening. Americans are ignorant of
what we really need and are doomed.
Can America pull itself together without community?
       No **** way.
RE pointed out to me that the problems we have are too big for
any one person emerge to save us. No Marcus Aurealis or Darius
can rise to make America a great nation. The problems we have
       simply overwhelm.
