Like Surly. I also set up Paper.li to collate Collapse related
stories off the net back in the Diner Days. I will post links
to stories from the website in this thread. Also other
Collapse Stories which don't fit other categories well. It's a
Freebie, so like the Diner YouTube Channel
HTML https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdkTKr8u6LsuIWn8P3CdD8Q
made it
through my year of Hell on Earth incarcerated in the Gulag.

Lies. All lies. I get up at 4Am every day to assemble and
distribute this. I was alerted by someone on here that you were
claiming credit for this.
I pay for this subscription every year and not one jot or tittle
is a result of your work or effort. Anyone who even gives this a
passing look can tell who posts most of the stories.
Shame.
[/quote]
Ooops. My apologies. I did make several of these back in ths
day, but did not keep them up due to subscription cost while
incarcerated in the Gulag.
My Diner stuff still up is on YouTube

Do you still maintain the

Nice 2 hear from U anyhow.

My Junior Year College Roomy was EE. Nobody ever studied more

day. Nuts.

EEs tend to be a bit on the crazy side. I am an exception.
You did know that I is one right?
If EEs are as rare as white buffalo, I unload truck at Harbor
Freight at $19.50 an hour why? (It does make me into a bad ass
MOFO. The cred of being a bad-ass is worth $2 an hour more.
Call it $21.50 for now. )
Truth is industry wants people CHEAP. Articles get written
pretending there are shortages of professionals all the time.
Industry then rewards trade journals running bullshit articles
with advertising. Money wins over truth as it always does.
Claiming a shortage gets translated as a lower market rate to
the big bump of EE wannabees who apply for EE jobs in 'short
supply'. As long as EE's work for more than an average wage
industry will claim a shortage.
Find out how long the average unemployed EE has been looking for
a job and then come back and tell me there is a shortage.
Nobody has taken a radio apart to see how it works since 1957.
And you can quote me on that.
Money fertilizes bullshit.
* Claiming shortages also greases H1-B immigration game so
industry can exploit Indian and Chinese slave labor at a cheaper
rate than American labor. What is nice about that for industry
is the slaves are gone when contracts expire. This makes $45 an
hour (and another $30 an hour to the temp agency actually
supplying a slave into a BARGAIN. No medical benefits to pay
and the slave flies home.
Industry wants to use you and then when the job they hired you
for is finished they want you gone. This makes foreign workers
a preferred choice in American capitalism. It is all about
short term profit so those who have can have more.
HR departments don't want to hire people who take radios apart.
Think about it. Cats are hard to herd. EEs are worse.
Industry is all about turning professionals into contract labor.
The article says nothing of this.

It's a virtuous circle; no investment in training by industry or
govt-wages can be kept low-housing cost can be kept high.
Employers are not just advertising for foreign workers, they
even travel overseas to interview and hire them with skills. It
seems the work visa conditions don't make it easy to become a
resident. Ive asked them how long they've been in the country
and heard it's 5 yrs or 8 yrs and they are alone here.
I know the rules are they need to advertise a position for some
time before hiring oversea. U also hear about positions that are
advertised as a formality and they're not really trying to fill
it. Figures.
