3rd Party: The People's Party Crap shoot
DIR By: Blade of Grass
Date: April 23, 2021, 7:47 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Joining the TTP is a new adventure for me. I have never done
political organizing before. A lot of their members have, and
now they are organizing lots of meetings to discuss different
strategies. Up till about 4 weeks ago I had the view that it was
going to be virtually impossible to stop run away Global
Warming. I had given up on XR about a year ago. Thought Greta's
efforts were basically a news opportunity, and was warning my
friends and family of the imminent disaster, especially for the
children and the next generations as things would keep getting
worse. I still think that we are in for a real rough ride no
matter what.
The Diner was/is a place that hones in on the truth. I think
it still is and with some new members it looks even "smarter"!
:) I am not going to advertise or push for this 3rd Party game
on anyone here in the forum. I might mention something if it
seems like important info to our concerns here, but otherwise
discuss issues in a real, engaged way.
I really liked Palloy, and remember how he would chide us for
compromising to the "Man", because he was basically camping in
the forest in some foreign land, off grid, but still able to
trouble shoot the Diner's technical snags. Amazing dude.
If I do post something about the progress of TPP I will use
this thread to do so without campaigning, just
information/"fact".
Sorry to all for being over enthusiastic about this game in
other threads. No more.

This is the second mention I've seen of the People's Party. It's
funny how two parties can have the same name but very different
platforms. I took a quick look at the US party platform and it
looks pretty good to me. I'm up in Canada where the People's
Party of Canada is....well let's say, not so forward thinking.
"There is however no scientific consensus on the theory that CO2
produced by human activity is causing dangerous global warming
today or will in the future, and that the world is facing
environmental catastrophes unless these emissions are
drastically reduced. Many renowned scientists continue to
challenge this theory." - PPC Platform
I remember I laughed the first time I read that, thinking it was
satire. It is not!
Good to hear you guys have a party willing to actually challenge
the status quo. For now my vote will stick with the Green Party
up here in Canada. Hope the People's Party makes it big!

Their policy planks seem to be very close to our NDP party in
Canada or the UKs old labour party or the more left leaning of
the european social Democrats. For canada at the federal level
the NDP has proven to be the source of most of our Liberal
Partys more progressive policies. The have never managed to pull
of a majority in our first past the post system but usually act
as "king makers" in situations of minority government like we
have right now. Provincially they have come to power in most
provinces at some time or other including BC right now.
It sounds like a hard sell in the states which seems to have a
deeply ingrained
political tradition of winner takes all. It sounds like a noble
cause and a good way to spend ones time.
I'm more of a small "L" liberal as we call it here so fiscally
conservative socially progressive. It's sort of an out of favour
flavour these days.
Cheers, NF

I agree, when it comes to the American Psyche it will take a lot
more than simply 'build it and they will come' for a new party
to challenge the dominant duopoly of privilege and power.

Americans play on the 'It is all about me' team. That team is
lost in the weeds. That team asks what can the people do for
ME.

Actually he lived (or still lives) in a ranch-style (bungalow)
house connected to the grid for electricity. He drives a car and
shops in a store for groceries like most of us. A substantial
number of Australians rely on rain water collected off their
roofs - I guess that could be considered somewhat off-grid. He
lives on a large plot that is mostly 'wild'. His neighbors are
the opposite - considerable improvements. He has a few chickens,
or as they call them, chooks. He does not grow any of his own
food, hunt or forage.
Except for the missing lower limb - Palloy and RE are like
twins. Neither is about to live off the land using their own
muscle power. Palloy (by his own words) has already attempted to
take his own life. RE stated that his suffering took him to the
brink. They both smoke, etc. I was so concerned about Palloy
that I emailed his neighbor.
Alas, I can give no actual details, because Palloy asked me not
to 'dox' him. I have never done that and never will (for
anyone). The Internet is forever(ish) and I don't want crass
behavior like that on my record. If anyone ever sees crap like
that from an account I created, then it means someone else got
either my password or an Admin's password. So yes - everything
you post online can be compromised to make you look bad from
several directions, most of which you have no control over.

Im surprised to hear you speaking in the present tense and he is
still breathing. I thought that 3 bedroom govt house would have
now been fully occupied twice or thrice over by the Aboriginal /
Torres Strait Islanders he lives among.

I searched 'TTP' and had to figure u meant TPP. I don't think
anyone would mind you just posting a link.
Greta was a mascot for billionaires as is ER. Neither would get
publicity or world leaders lining up to pander to them, with
their own solutions otherwise.
I suggest that due to interglacial and ice age cycles, Al gores
predictions have not eventuated. That is not to say pollution is
not a problem, we certainly have an environmental crisis and on
the current trajectory modern civilization is unsustainable.
It's obvious to me that is already planned for in a way that
does not interfere with the profit principal for bankers and
billionaires.
The one party system of corporate communism pretending to be a
two party system of capitalism will be very hard to challenge,
but good luck.

Now this is not to advertise for them. It is just posted now
because I again fucked up by using TTP without seeing the
mistake after proof reading it twice
before clicking post. :P
Your correct, it was supposed to be TPP.

A people's party would have to get behind carbon credits for me
to take it seriously.

For those who don't know what carbon dividends are. You can be
sure the duopoly won't get behind the idea and a true party of
the people can't ignore it.
