A couple of children, on a field trip, walk up to the former
king's palace, glaring in awe at it's majesty; it's gold tipped
domes, it's solid gold iron fence around the entire palace..
"Now, children, just a couple of weeks ago, our former king
lived in this wonderful palace! It is nearly 300 years old, and
was just recently fully repaired from the great quake of '97.."
Just then, a slight tremor begins rocking everything back and
forth, and a the teacher looks at the children, face paled..
A day later, a man picks up the latest newspaper.
"A magnitude 6.9 earthquake has recently struck the capital city
of Farbanti, the major earthquake since the great one of 1897.
The city council has reported the cost of the damages to be
around 50 million kerbits. 214 confirmed deaths have been
reported, a large majority of them coming from the near complete
collapse of the old King's Palace. The structure, always having
been susceptible to earthquakes, finally gave way, as repairing
of the foundation from the last quake was not yet complete.
Whether or not the elected party in the soon-coming election
will repair it or not is unknown."
