Estovasian Referendum!

For many years, Estovasian citizens have looked upon the
republics and democracies of the world with longing eyes.
Radical theorists, as they were once called, have become some of
the largest and most powerful nations on the planet, one of
which event managed to fend off the might of the Royal
Estovasian Armed Forces. These citizens, for several years,
especially since the end of the war and the declining of the
king's sanity, have called for a reformation of the government.
Eventually, after mass demonstrations were held in the Capital
of Farbanti on New Year's Day, 1920, the king has given in, and
allowed for the first referendum in the history of Estovasia.
Some claim that this is unfair, as the king at this point is
completely senile, however as society is today, the monarch's
word is absolute. There are three options for the Estovasians to
choose from..
Option One, The Preservation of Absolutism:
This option changes the government in no noticeable form, and
would only cement the king's power as absolute and true ruler of
the country, from now, and to forever. However, for the first
time in history the prince will take control of the country
before the king is dead, as a result of the king's apparent
insanity.
Option Two, The Compromise:
This option will allow for the Monarchy to continue it's
existence, however, it will be a limited constitutional
monarchy, with a senate of representatives from each of the
administrative regions currently existing truly holding the
power, and a Head Senator to represent them.
Option Three, The Abolishing:
This option will completely remove the monarch from all his
power aside from figurative. An entirely new representative
republic will take the control of the nation, and a President
will be elected based upon another referendum hosted after this
one, assuming this option passses. This is the most radical
change, and if chosen, would most likely lead to international
concern about the security of monarchies...

As the citizens eagerly looked at the newspaper in the morning,
many hugged and cried tears of joy.. However, a larger amount of
people were completely baffled. On the morning of February 17th,
the newspaper read;
"As it stands, 62% of the population in total had voted in the
referendum. 79% voted to completely abolish the monarchy's
government power, whereas 18% have voted to maintain a partial
amount of power. The option to allow our monarch to rule
absolutely only received 12% of the votes. This means that the
monarchy's power will be absolutely abolished, and the monarch
given a super superficial position."

A man picks up a tattered newspaper laying on the ground, and
begins reading;
"After the monarch stepped down, fearing for his own life and
his family's life after seeing the result of the vote, the
country currently has no set in stone government. The nation has
no centralized government anymore, and the only remaining
authority that remains is the state-advisers (The king had a
council of advisers that he put in moderate control of the 10
administrative regions of Estovasia). This council of 10
advisers has come up with a government system that will allow a
democratic process to take place, as the people have requested.
The people will vote for 50 new advisers, or Bellots (meaning
counselor in Estovasian), and the 50 of them will vote for a
Bellotprazidat, who will act as the commander-in-chief of the
armed forces, as well as be able to veto any proposition that
the Bellotcaunsat proposes. Propositions themselves can be
proposed by any Bellot, and voted on by the rest of them. Each
Bellot will serve a term of 2 years, and will only be allowed to
be re-elected twice. The Bellotprazidat will serve for four
years, and only be able to serve one term.
This has lead the nations previous military generals and
Advisers to begins forming rudimentary political parties and
coalitions, in hopes of gaining a majority in the Bellotcaunsat
in the coming election, and the position of Bellotprazidat."

The Kingdom of Erkettun condemns the dissolution of the monarchy
as an act of cowardice on the part of the former King of
Estovasia and an act of betrayal on the former council members
who, rather than properly abiding by the laws of succession,
decided to usurp the throne that is rightfully of whichever
further heir may be found. Despite this, the Kingdom of Erkettun
wishes to express its hope that, whatever the case may be, the
changes that lie in the future for the Estovasian people may be
towards their prosperity, despite our concerns regarding the
stability of their nation after these events.
Should the people of Estovasia have the will for it, we would
still wish to offer a suitable member of our Dynasty of proper
genetic stock, unsusceptible to the mental illnesses that
plagued your former King, willing to convert to the nation's
religion and customs. Should this not be enough, we are certain
the Royalist Society shall be capable of producing a capable man
of royal blood.
