[font=times new roman]FARBANTI; Jan. 2 -[/font] In an unexpected
referendum proposed by the Estovasian King on New Years Day,
1920, the Estovasian people have overwhelmingly voted to abolish
the Monarchy.
Initially proposed to judge the population's approval rating,
the referendum backfired terribly when over 70% of the
population voted for the government's dissolution. Fearing for
his life, the reigning king and most of the royal family
immediately fled the country, before protests in downtown
Farbanti could increase in violence. Following a short period of
anarchy in the power vacuum, officers from the Estovasian Army
and the remaining Council of Advisors established an interim
government, colloquially referred to as the Unitary Estovasian
Council.
In the following months, the council of ten advisors will
oversee the Estovasian transition into a democracy. In an
election later this year, Estovasian will vote for fifty new
advisors, called Bellots; these Bellots will then vote amongst
themselves to elect a Bellotprazidat, who will act as the
commander-in-chief of the armed forces and as a council member
wth the ability to veto legislation. The position of
Bellotprazidat is, in most ways, similar to the Office of the
President.
Subsequent surveys in Avalon haveconfirmed that the population
of Aeseria is overwhelmingly in support of the referendum, and
the abolition of the pre-war Estovasian government is
unanimously considered to be a major stepping stone for a bright
future in Emmeria.

[font=times new roman]ZVERSKOGRAD; Feb. 11 -[/font] Following
the defeat of the Imperial Ryudinian Navy in the series of naval
battles surrounding Boyevostrov, the once-exiled monarchy
re-established the throne in a coup d'tat against the fascist
government. With Princess Sofiya Voronina acting as the ruler of
the provisional Southern government, a peace treaty was signed
between them, the Northern Ryudinians, and the Holy Celestial
Empire, bringing the conflict to a resolution.
The conflict initially started when a small South Ryudinian
flotilla entered the waters of Boyevostrov, a disputed and
strategically-positioned island off the coast of Verusea. The
North Ryudinians, though routed at first, moved to rendezvous
with a Celestian fleet, counterattack, and regain control of the
island. This caused a South Ryudinian submarine squadron to
attempt to intercept the Celestinian navy; however they were
counter-intercepted and engaged by North Ryudinian
anti-submarine screens, successfully sinking the squadron.
Shortly afterwards, a South Ryudinian expeditionary force
attempted to push into the mainland North through their exclave
on the Verusean continent. However, the attack was repelled by
the larger North Ryudinian army. After a decisive battle, the
Southern forces were decimated, and survivors routed to the
exclave.
With the initiative now in the defender's hands, a joint North
Ryudinian-Celestian naval armada sailed back towards Boyevostrov
in order to retake it from the southern occupation forces. This
led to a second confrontation with the South Ryudinian navy:
eight frigates and five destroyers in the Southern fleet versus
seventeen patrol boat flotillas, five frigates, four destroyers,
two heavy cruisers, and three battleships in the joint Northern
fleet. After several hours of battle, the Southern fleet was
decisively sunk, and airborne forces on the island evacuated
back to the Ryudinian subcontinent. As this occurred, a South
Ryudinian battleship sailed along the coast of Celestia,
ultimately bombarding the city of Honoria and destroying the
Imperial Celestial Palace. However, none in the Imperial Family
were killed in the attack, and the Southern battleship was
subsequently sunk while trying to escape.
Following the series of naval defeats, exiled Royalist forces
initiated a coup against the fascist government. Military forces
loyal to the Royal Family, led by General Ilya Zelenko of the
4th Imperial Corps, successfully took control of the South
Ryudinian capital of Zverskograd, promptly rounding up Fyodor
II, the National Salvation Council, other fascist conspirators
in the armed forces, as well as the owners of the Ryudinian
Broadcasting Corporation. Using the RBC, the general announced
the dissolution of the fascist regime and the installation of
Princess Sofiya Voronina on the throne, the only survivng member
of the Royal Family. Afterwards, the North Ryudinians and
Celestians were contacted for a peace agreement.
As of February 11, 1921, the war has ended, a decisive victory
for the defending forces of North Ryudinia and Celestia. As per
the terms of the treaty, the South Ryudinian provisional
government will be paying the North a hundred million credits,
over the course of ten years, and the North will be recognized
as the legitimate government of its territory. Although peace
has been returned, only time will tell if this will be a single
incident or the beginning of a series of skirmishes between the
North and South.

[font=times new roman]IRIDAR; Feb. 26 -[/font] After the General
Strike of 1920 continued to escalate into a full-scale civil
war, military forces led by General Rochefort defected and led
an assault on the Iridarian capital. Soon after, revolutionary
forces successfully toppled the standing Congress and installed
the Congress of Unions in its place, marking the end of the
Iridar Republic. After a vote in the first session of the ICU,
the formation of the United Syndicates of Iridar was announced
in its place.
After unsuccessful attempts to curb the hyperinflation of
Iridarian currency, resentment against the Republican government
continued to grow among the lower class. After a strike was
declared by the Industrial Workers of Iridar (IWI), roughly 60%
of the country's workforce took to the streets to protest,
grinding the Iridarian economy to a halt. Shortly after the
government declared the protests to be illegal, the country's
student unions joined in the strike; by the end of the first
day, between 10-17 million rioters were filling the streets of
all major cities.
As negotiations between police and protesters broke down, police
forces opened fire into a crowd, killing fourteen in the ensuing
chaos. By the end of the week, Republican president Khilip
Schiede declared a state of emergency; police and military
attempts to enforce the mandated curfew led to further violence
against the rioters. Soon after, IWI Chairman Kilbom Strom
declared a de facto war against the Republican government,
transitioning the General Strike into an open revolution. For a
week, IWI partisans wrestled for control of the capital city
against Republican military and police forces, until several
elements of the military led by General Rochefort joined forces
with the IWI. After the military's defection, the remainder of
the Republican government swiftly capitulated.
As of now, the country is in the hands of the ICU, the successor
to the IWI and several other labor unions. After its formation,
Samuel Lewis, the chairman of the United Syndicalist Parties of
Aeseria, declared their support for the new regime; however, the
Federal Republic has yet to give an official statement on the
new government.
