       Election in Ryudinia

       The first election for the government of the Socialist Republic
       of Ryudinia has begun. It is expected that it will take several
       days for all votes to be cast and counted.
       The three coalition parties have each issued statements to the
       people.
       Mikhailovin Party
       Leader: Artoym Mikhailov
       Stated goals:

       [li]A commitment to democratic process.[/li]
       [li]Strengthed relations between the SRR and other republics,
       especially socialist governments.[/li]
       [li]Continued expansion of the H3O and industry.[/li]
       [/list]
       People's Party
       Leader: Vasily Karnovich
       Stated goals:

       [li]A commitment to strong and stable government[/li]
       [li]Strengthed armed forces, to guard against facists and
       ractionaries.[/li]
       [li]Continued expansion of industry and the military[/li]
       [/list]
       Worker's Party
       Leader: Vladimir Karamazov
       Stated goals:
       [list]
       [li]A commitment to devolved government[/li]
       [li]Additional liberties for the people[/li]
       [li]Continued devolution of government, with an aim towards a
       fully Communist state[/li]

       Following the Worker's party being discredited utterly by their
       failure to answer how they would win this war, and following the
       assassination of the leader of the People's Party and its
       subsequent leadership struggle, the campaign of the Mikhailovins
       has gone remarkably well.
       Winning 491 of 600 seats, the Mikhailovins have a huge majority
       in government and Artoym Mikhailov himself has stated that,
       while there is a long way to go, the future looks very bright
       indeed for the ideals of freedom, democracy and co-operation.
       He has especially noted that he will do everything in his power
       to attempt to build new, strong ties with all countries,
       pointing out especially the efforts of the people of Celestina
       whose brave efforts combined with shrewd Ryudinian strategy have
       turned the tide of war.
