Okay, so I know a lot of people are mad because Rowling never
shows anything LGBTQ+ in her books. She says that Dumbledore was
gay and that Ron is FTM, but never actually tells us in the
books. My theory is that she saw what happened to the Cassandra
Clare books. The number one reason why parents won't let their
children read those books is because of the LGBTQ+ characters.
Rowling, however, appealed to the racists and homophobes by not
directly making anyone gay. In reality, however, she made Harry
bi, Ron trans, and countless other characters LGBTQ+. Also, she
NEVER states the ethnicity of ANY of the characters. The movies
are the ones that made them all white.

Rowling announced that these characters were LGBTQ+ way after
the books were done. It doesn't add anything to the story, and
there is no proof of any of it in the books or movies. She just
did it to add more diversity. Rowling is also a TERF, which
stands for trans-exclusionary radical feminist. It basically
means that she is a feminist, but she doesn't believe that trans
women are real women. I love the Harry Potter books, but the
author is toxic. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

I like the idea of Ron being trans and Dumbledore being gay and
Harry (like me!) being bi. But I also have to disagree about
Rowling not being awesome yes, she, like all humans has some
very deep moral flaws but she also helps orphans get out of
orphanages and into families.

I am with piano_freak with this one.
Another thing
I believe that she just added that these characters were
LGBTQ+/Different Race/Different Religion because she didn't have
diversity in the books. Diversity is popular now, and she wants
to make it seem like she was in on it the entire time. In her
tweets she talked about Hermione actually being black, but there
are multiple instances where JK Rowling wrote "Hermione's white
face" (Refer to the picture below).
She also talked about (in her tweets) about how there was
absolutely no discrimination of ANY kind in the books, but you
can very explicitly read the discrimination between
witches/wizards and muggles. There may not have been any racial,
religious or LGBTQ+ discrimination written, but the
discrimination between wizards/witches and muggles very
obviously takes its place, and there is still sexism. She may be
a feminist, but she is white and straight, so she saw no need to
try and show any racial/religious/LGBTQ+ diversity until people
started asking about it.

Hey, thanks for that little clip. I hadn't realized that J. K.
Rowling had actually mentioned it in her books. I do know that
she said all of this after the books were written, but I like to
imagine that these things are really true.
I personally believe that trans women are women, but I know not
everybody does. There is a famous quote: "I don't like what you
said, I don't agree with what you said, but I will defend to the
death your right to say it. " I think that applies here. I HATE
discrimination, and I believe what she thinks is wrong, BUT she
has a right to think and say it.
