Do we matter?/ The size of everything
By: itisme Date: December 5, 2019, 9:42 pm

In science class recently there has been a lot of talk about if
we matter in the grand scheme of things, or if we are
insignificant compared to the great mystery and expanse of
space. Please share your thoughts and opinion on this matter.
Personally I believe that we are insignificant. I also think
that our universe is one of many, but our small insignificant
minds can't comprehend the sheer size of everything because we
are so use to the size of everything on Earth compared to us.
The expanse of everything is infinite. Our stubborn minds make
ourselves believe that we can understand the everything, but it
is impossible for humans to wrap their minds around that fact.
Humans refuse to believe that in the grand scheme of things we
are but miniscule specks on a dust molecule floating in the
middle of a insignificant galaxy in a puny universe surrounded
by endless everything else. We do not matter. We are going to
die and we are going to be forgotten by everyone and everything.
Eventually everyone and everything is going to die and be
forgotten. It will be as if nothing was here in the first place.
To us, right now it seems as if we are the most important things
in the world, but we do not matter at all. That sucks, deal with
it.
That is just my personal opinion please share your own if you do
not agree.

Yes it is true that we are insignificant to the
rest of the universe but what about the butterfly effect? even
the smallest most tiny creature can make a huge impact
especially if the are over populated like ourselves.

Not necessarily. What we do to Earth can affect Earth and other
planets in our solar system, which may and will cause other
solar systems to be affected. In a long chain reaction, the
galaxy will be thrown off, affecting other galaxies to crash
into each other, which in turn may affect the universe. If the
universe is messed up, other universes (universi,
the multiverse?) will be thrown off, causing them to crash into
each other, completely affecting everything in the multiverse.
so even though we may seem like nothing, we can affect the
entire universe.

True but we are not the most significant being. We don't really
have a choice in what we say or do due to society's
expectations. And even when we do we tend to regret it and try
to redo it but in the progress making us regret more. In whole
we regret a lot.
