Re: My Top 5 Animes

MY TOP FIVE (for now)
1. The Promised Neverland
I cannot recommend this enough. It is excellently done, and the
plot is extremely well thought out.
2. The Hero Is Overpowered But Extremely Cautious
This one is both serious and funny at the same time. The main
character is insanely powerful, but he is so paranoid that he
never does anything without being over-prepared. Aside from the
interesting character concept, there is a big surprise at the
end, and that alone would put it in my top 5. Just watch it
already!
3. Attack On Titan
No surprises here, it's an excellent story with plenty of blood
and death, but what I enjoy most is the way that war and carnage
are depicted, and how it affects the characters. The
psychological and philosophical aspects of this show are
incredible
4.Food Wars
Soma Yukihira works in his father's small restaurant serving
ridiculously good food at normal prices. Then, his father
decides to take a trip and sends Soma to culinary school. Soma
braces for boring classes teaching mundane basics that he
mastered while in diapers. However, the school he is sent to is
the most renowned cooking school in the world, with a graduating
rate of less than 5%. That's because students duel each other in
Food Wars to prove who is the better chef, and the loser often
risks expulsion. WARNING, WATCH WITH EARBUDS. SERIOUSLY. OR
ELSE. There is a caveat to this show. To show that food is good,
the artists create a variety of inappropriate "taste montages."
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
5. My Hero Academia.
Weakling with no powers is given powers. Tries to learn to use
powers to fight bullies. Weakling only succeeds through trickery
and cunning. Weakling becomes non-weakling. Enough said. It's a
really good show though! However, be warned, some characters do
not have eyes, they just have gigantic eyebrows. I warned you!
That's my current top five.
Watchlist:
Death Note
Darwin's Game
I don't want to get hurt so I think I'll make a full defense
build.
Any recommendations?

This is the best explanation of the Food Wars "scenes" that I've
ever heard XD

Despite the Montages, the way they explain the science behind
the cooking if pretty incredible, and whoever comes up with the
food is a genius.

I always have to eat it with food next to me because it makes me
so hungry. It looks better than real food.

You should watch this one. Itś intense in the same way that
Promised Neverland was. I didn't cry, but I ALMOST did. ALMOST.
The description doesn't explain it too well, but here it is
anyway:
Goddess Listarte, the savior of the super hard-mode world
Gairbrunde, summons a hero to her aid. The hero, Seiya
Ryuuguuin, holds the cheat-rank status, but he is ridiculously
cautious. For instance, he would buy three sets of armor: one to
wear, a spare, and a spare for the spare. Beyond keeping an
absurd amount of item stock, he remains in his room for muscle
training till he reaches the max level and fights slimes at full
power just to stay on the safe side.
Just ignore it and watch episode 1.

It has a sort of video game vibe, but if it is one they never
break the fourth wall.

Okay, folks, or er, folk (since it's basically just 2 or 3 of us
maybe 4 left.
I have a new round of favorite anime, and I have recommendations
for Thatonegayauthor. This is to repay you for the long and
comprehensive lists of good shows when I first started watching
this stuff.
Right, here goes. This list should be considered separate from
the first one. And it has categories. I LOVE categories. All of
this is on WCO, so you can watch it for yourself. I will provide
links to the newest additions. There are NO REPEATS.
Top Overall Views
Attack On Titan
The world is attacked by an onslaught of giant man-eating
humanoids called titans (hence the name.) Wildly popular,
extremely well done. Also (my favorite part) completely devoid
of fan service. It's a miracle.
Your Lie In April
The main character was a piano prodigy, no, THE piano prodigy of
the century, but when his mom died, he quit because he couldn't
hear his own notes. But, when he meets a young violinist who is
in her grade, she convinces him to return to the piano. This
anime is hands down amazing. It definitely isn't for people who
just want swords and death and violence and has a youthful but
serious tone. The music mentioned DOES NOT MATCH THE SHOW QUITE
PERFECTLY ITS ALL EXCERPTS. So have a tab open so you can look
up the music for yourself. Worth it.
The Promised Neverland
This one is just terrifying and sad, and you can go look it up
because I don't feel like writing about it. My words don't do it
justice.
Fantasy
Note to the cautious viewer: Fantasy is notorious for fan
service. If you can't handle that, watch something else. That
said, fantasy also has some of the most interesting characters,
so if you can close your eyes and use the skip button, or just
grit your teeth and bear it, the stories are truly magical.
The Cautious Hero
HTML https://www.wcostream.com/anime/cautious-hero-the-hero-is-overpowered-but-overly-cautious
This story is amazing. Seriously. I will recommend this to
almost anyone, but maybe not as their first anime. Watch some
similar ones first otherwise it isn't as funny. Basically this
is your standard guy gets summoned into a new world, except the
gut is insanely powerful and insanely paranoid. It's hilarious,
but the ending nearly made me cry. THIS IS ME WE'RE TALKING
ABOUT HERE!!! This one is on the same level as Promised
Neverland as far as a concept. I am SO using this guy in D&D.
Rise Of The Shield Hero
HTML https://www.wcostream.com/anime/the-rising-of-a-shield-hero
Okay, this is one of my favorite characters. Basically, this guy
gets summoned to another world with four other guys, and they
all get cool magic weapons, except for him. He gets a shield.
Not only can he not remove the shield, he physically He is
labeled as useless, robbed, and falsely accused of a serious
crime. An outcast from society, he becomes so enraged he breaks
the laws of the universe and unlocks a curse mode. This renders
him the most powerful hero, but there's more to the world than
meets the eye. This is a pretty standard fantasy, but it's good.
This makes an excellent introduction to the genre.
Is it wrong to try to pick up girls in a dungeon?
HTML https://www.wcostream.com/anime/is-it-wrong-to-try-to-pick-up-girls-in-a-dungeon
This is a beautiful story, and I don't mean visually. The plot
is well thought out, and meticulously detailed. Characters are
on par for fantasy, but with unique twists,
and the hero is Naive and oblivious to people's feelings for
him. Plus it's funny. Basically this kid is a low-level
adventurer, but he gets a skill that lets him become powerful
ridiculously fast (there's a catch).
This makes him friends as well as enemies, and as he grows
stronger he becomes increasingly involved in larger quests.
Basically I can't give away too much because It's too much fun
to watch.
In another world with my iPhone.
HTML https://www.wcostream.com/anime/in-another-world-with-my-smartphone
The main character is accidentally killed when God gets careless
and throws some lightning down, striking him on accident. As
compensation, God tells the main character he will be
reincarnated (as himself at his current age) in a fantasy world,
given magic abilities, and allowed on wish. The main character
wished to bring his phone. God accepts and gives him a few apps
that will help him. The guy even gets God's phone number! Follow
the adventures that ensue! This is standard happy anime about
characters who have a good time helping each other. This one
contains fan service. Fair warning.
Pychological
Death Note
This anime doesn't require a link, it's that popular, and for
good reason. Kis gets a notebook that lets him kill anyone in
any manner at any time. It starts killing criminals. Ends up a
member of the investigation team trying to track him down. Long
story short, the main character is scary smart, and once L dies,
you can stop watching because the story basically ends. No list
of Pych anime is complete without this one.
King's Game
HTML https://www.wcostream.com/anime/kings-game-the-animation
When everyone in his class gets a text, they think it's a joke.
Do as the king says and you don't die. But when those who ignore
the King's game really end up dead, they realize the gravity of
the situation. There is a titanic surprise in the main
character's backstory revealed early on. Man oh man is this one
scary. It could be labeled horror, but the actual violence is
low. This one makes you think, and hope you never have to play
the Kings Game yourself. Just thinking about it is scary.
Re:ZERO
HTML https://www.wcostream.com/anime/rezero-starting-life-in-another-world
While this could be labeled fantasy, and it is, this one is like
nothing you've ever seen in the genre, and is a lot more
philosophical if you read between the lines so I put it here.
The hero, Subaru Natsuki (I remembered his name!)
is absolutely thrilled to be summoned to another world, he's
ready for his superpowers and amazing skills. Unfortunately, he
doesn't have any. Armed with only some groceries and a useless
cell phone, he is beaten to a pulp by some street thugs.
Luckily, he is saved by a mysterious lady who goes by the name
Satella. She is looking for her lost emblem (tiny jeweled
thingy), so Subaru decides to help. He even finds it, but then,
he is brutally murdered along with Satella.
Then, he opens his eyes. He is standing where he was shortly
after when he was first summoned. He is stuck in a time loop.
Basically, when he dies, he comes back from when he last
achieved something of note and went to bed. As Subaru learns how
to use his power, he tries to help his friends. But dying takes
a toll and Subaru ends up dying a lot. See what happens for
yourself! this one is worth watching, and it's actually really
interesting.
Thanks for reading my recommendations!
TOGA, check out King's game and Re: ZERO. They're really good
ones.
