Every single LGBTQ+ person that was rejected/disowned by their
family would give them up for love...

Sorry that sounded dismissive I meant if your family is judging
you because of your sexuality and you really love this person
then yes that is ok but not when you don't freaking know the
person they could hate you or abuse you or just be really not
your type

Huh, good arguments on both sides.
I'm going to be purely logical here. We're talking heartless
cruel I don't care logic.
Here's the situation:
Family disapproves of the main character based on their
Sexuality, Gender Identity, Love interest, or religion. The
family has not disowned the main character, but will if they
continue with the thing the family disapproves of. The main
character is not financially independent. The main character
could run away and therefore be free of overbearing family. If
they have any foresight, they won't.
While running away to freedom is romantic and all, let's be
realistic. Family is your main source of food, shelter, and
college funds. Throwing that away for freedom only works in the
movies. If you're going to continue with running away, fine.
But, if you really want to kick your family in the teeth, go to
college using their funds first.
In other words, wait until you can actually survive on your own
before you strike out on your own.
This is reflected often in real life, especially in the Atheist
and non-religious communities.
Religion is an important part of life for many people, and since
religion came about, the religious have always shunned
disbelievers (sounds like a hook for a novel). Nowadays, many
people who become atheists live with parents who are very
religious, which means telling their parents would be a
disaster. Because of this, many wait until they are financially
independent or at least away from home before they announce
their beliefs, (or lack thereof.)
The ethics here are a bit shadowy. Technically by withholding
information, the child is lying to their parents. However, they
are only doing so to stay alive. The way I see it, the child is
not in the wrong, the parents are the ones who have created a
situation in which telling the truth is dangerous, and therefore
are at fault.
The other problem is that by suppressing their feelings, many
people think that they aren't being true to themselves. This can
result in low self-esteem and depression. What these people need
to realize is that not voicing an unpopular opinion for your own
safety is OK. You don't need to display your beliefs publicly in
order to have them.
I don't know if that was just a rant, or if it was an informed
monologue. Only time and feedback will tell.
P.S. Beyond basic use of Grammarly this was written all at once.
Sorry if it comes out messily. This is what I normally sound
like.

I stand by my earlier arguments.
Mulan has a strong, non-princess female lead.
And I quote:
"Get moving or I'll have Mulan make a man out of you."
-Charlie Berens.
Just Saying...

I know Mulan has really good music but I also like a character
who is a bookworm. And technically Mulan was not out of love
though in the end it kinda does

Is that a problem?
I can appreciate movies in which love is the motivation, but
that sort of plotline gets old when everyone is using it. I
prefer when people mix it up, take The Matrix for instance. The
underlying motivation for all the action isn't because of love
for a person, it's anger at the world the characters live in.
It's different, and I like that.
