Re: Chapter 2 : Alcubra Arc

"First: a Bastet is what you are, a humanoid cat. There's plenty
of your folks roaming Ellia. Thirdly, I'm also a thief, and I
just stole your showers. But, really, are you absolutely sure
you want to fight? Go down the path of a monster and you may as
well regret it, or we can all calm down and I'll let you be."
The Assassin said as he neared his hands to his swords. Tatsuo's
ears twitch as he heard a deep and threatening growl come from
Lux, he clenched his fist and let the charged lightning
disperse, not wanting to cause anymore chaos.
"No, the last thing I want to do is fight, I want my rest. Now
if you don't mind..." He quietly growled. "You can leave while I
will continue to try and calm down, but if I get one more
interruption... this entire building is losing its power and
things will be destroyed." Tatsuo sat down in the area he
cleared out and crossed his legs, closing his eyes as he took a
couple breaths to calm himself down.

The wolf leaped off from the bed and growled at both characters,
giving off a harsher warning than before. "No I have no want of
fighting right now, I want my rest. Now if you don't mind..."
said Tatsuo after calming down a bit and dispersing his
lightning. "You can leave while I will continue to try and calm
down, but if I get one more interruption... this entire building
will lose power and things will be destroyed." the kitty cat sat
down and went into a meditation stance, taking a few breaths.
Eilam went into the bathroom and pulled out two cotton balls. He
then walked over to the Bastet, placed the wool into his ears
while trying not to disturb him, and took off his glove to pet
him, whispering "Good kitty. Have a nice nap." He then put the
gauntlet back on and walked towards the window, looking out at
the town's suburbs.

Seeing that they both have calmed down and weren't going to
fight, Wolfie relaxed. He made his way to the window and stood
beside the human as he looked out the window, taking everything
in. The people walking by the Inn with groceries in hand, the
children running about, the tourists taking pictures of anything
that fascinated them; everything seemed peaceful.

Tatsuo could sense the Assassin moving around the room, his ears
then twitched a lot when something soft was put into them. He
let out a quiet growl and before calming slightly from the
petting "Good kitty. Have a nice nap." , he took out the soft
thing cause it was irritating his ears. Tatsuo got deeper into
meditation and his clothing and hair would start to wave around
as if wind was blowing against him, a small symbol appeared
underneath him in a deep yellow and he slowly rose off the
ground, floating about 6 inches off the ground.

"Next time, I rent a room at the inn... Never sleepin' on grass
ever again."
Ardea rose from her uncomfortable makeshift bed with a yawn.
It's been a while since she and the rest of her group disbanded
after that whole fiasco down in the crypts of New Kounat. Being
the sore loser she always has been, Ardea cringed at every
thought of it. Well, everything went back the way it was...
normal, to say the least. Ardea went back to doing hit jobs and
protecting clients, while the others did whatever the hell they
normally did.
A deep, staticky voice suddenly rang out. "Are you awake now,
girl? Target's heading your way."
Ardea lazily reached into her pocket and pulled out a fancy
communicator. "Yeah, yeah. I'm in position. Ya ready?"
"Remember, no killing or no payment. We don't want a mess to
deal with. Simply get us our stuff back and teach her not to
meddle in our business ever again."
"I ain't as brutal as you think I am."
[hr]
A few horribly uneventful hours passed by, with no sign of the
target. Ardea's vigilance paid off though, as a suspicious woman
dressed in skimpy rogue attire suddenly showed up in her view.
She appeared to be trying to flee, fear clouding the rogue's
face as she cautiously tread through the grassy fields. What
caught Ardea's eye was the small sack the woman carried with
her. "Must be her!", Ardea thought to herself, snickering. "She
looks a little uneasy. Maybe I should go shake 'er up a bit...!"
Ardea focused energy into her palm and fired a concentrated
blast near the rogue's feet, successfully riling her up and
sending her flying a short distance. But the rogue made no
attempt to strike back, and attempted to run for her life.
"Alright!" Just when the red-head was about to give chase, a
woman in a maid uniform suddenly popped up right in front of
her. "G-gaah!"
"You must be Ardea!" The woman exclaimed. "Kayla sent me here to
find you. Do you remember her?"
The name did indeed sound familiar. Ardea was quickly reminded
of the crypt and all that transpired in there. Everything came
back to her, but that was the least of what she cared about at
the moment; Her target managed to escape her sights. "Dammit!
Y-you made me miss my target!" Ardea cried, frustrated. "I hope
you have 40,000 GP on ya! That's how much I was going to be paid
for this!"
"Oh, uh! So very sorry!" she apologized. "I will reimburse you
immediately, once we return together..."
Ardea took a deep breath and sighed. "Well, what is it?
Somethin' happen?"
"The next relic has finally appeared..." The maid responded.
"And your assistance is required by Her Royal Highness and her
acquaintances."
"Saw that coming..." Ardea muttered. Their timing couldn't have
been worse. Now, not only does she have to deal with an angry
client, but another deadly device capable of unknown terror that
just decided to show itself. "Not like I have anything to
lose..." She didn't, besides money. Plus, you'd be insane to
pass up a chance to save the world and have your name cemented
into history.
"Fine."

The wolf accompanied Eilam to the window while Tatsuo entered
monk meditation mode. Outside, there didn't seem any criminal
activities, for now. Sunset followed by nightfall soon came and
activities on the street significantly declined. However, two
armored guardsmen were headed into the direction of the inn,
prompting Eilam to cloak and exit through the window. Sure
enough, the two guards entered the inn, with the assassin
stalking them. The whole lobby was empty, all except for the
woman from earlier.
"Hell- Oh good, you're here. What took you people so long?!" the
woman said in a hushed tone. "Sorry we took so long, ma'm. We
had some... other problems." 'Other problems' meant dealing with
the Anmon bodies. "Whatever. Just go deal with that nasty cat in
room 18! That thing and this ghost is stressing me out like
crazy!" The clerk had a bit of a frightened yet notable
expression on her face when she said 'ghost'; the two guards
looked at her with concern and one asked: "Wait, 'ghost'?" The
clerk looked down at the desk at the response, saying "Shortly
after the bad kitty was threatening me, this floating dagger
appeared out of nowhere and a voice that came along with it
called me a 'monster'... I'm not a monster...!" She then wept
and one of the guardsman tried to comfort her. "You, go deal
with the cat, now." he said, pointing to the stairs.
Eilam quickly and quietly rushed up to room 18 and stood in
front of it, still invisible. The guard shortly arrived and
counted the rooms backward starting from 25. Upon reaching to
room 18, he knocked, but was stopped by the assassin's invisible
hand. "'Knock knock, we're here for you, you nasty cat!'? I
don't think so." Eilam hissed very silently so the animals
within the room wouldn't hear. Immediately after finishing his
sentence, he pulled out a kunai and jabbed the handle into the
guard's throat, then kicked his testicles, mouthing 'mommy'
before collapsing and fainting. Eilam then picked up the body,
entered the trash room, and shoved him down the garbage chute.
Having 'assassinated' the first one, he went back to the stairs
and waited for the second to arrive.
"What's taking him so long?" grumbled the other guard while
comforting the clerk. He marched away from her and up the
stairs, right to his impending doom: the invisible assassin
repeated the same tactic for the first guard, then kicked the
body down the stairs, causing him to roll and collapse all over
the staircase before finally hitting unconscious rock bottom.
The woman gasped as Eilam lightly walked down after the body and
glared at her. "So, you've decided to ignore my warning and
progress down the path of a monster..." Eilam's voice haunted
the lobby, freaking out the clerk while almost causing her to
scream. Before she could actually do so, Eilam grabbed her and
held her up by the throat, putting some strain on it.
"P-please... *cough* Let me go... *cough cough*" the clerk
begged, but this only prompted the assassin to tighten his grip.
"No. You've had your chance. Say good night." Instead of
snapping her neck like he did to one of the Anmons, he simply
choked her until she fainted.
Eilam dragged the two unconscious bodies to the 'employees only'
section where he placed them into the clerk's office. He stuffed
the guard into the closet and the woman underneath the desk.
With all three 'monsters' put out of their misery and no longer
a threat to Tatsuo, Eilam returned to room 18 the same way he
left it, uncloaked, then flopped onto the couch and stared at
the ceiling.

Chi started to flow off his body as Tatsuo became 100% relaxed,
he also began to quietly purr. The chi that escaped his body
pooled onto the ground as if it were a liquid, from his left arm
a different yellow glow would emit from it and little
electricity would jump off from it. It crawled around his arm in
a spiral formation then rose up from his shoulder, there was a
feint image of a serpentine dragon with its body wrapped around
Tatsuo. The sword that Tatsuo hid under his bed began to glow a
strong blue, the bed was floating high off the ground with cloth
the sword was wrapped in burned away from the glow and it slowly
dragged along the ground over to Tatsuo then floated in front of
him. The feint dragon image seemed to roar at the sword as more
electricity crawled from his body but no noise came from it, the
little crystal in the sword only glowed brighter, the furniture
close by began to float just like the bed. Tatsuo remained still
as he continued to meditate as if nothing was happening to him.

As the sun set activity on the streets slowly lessened. And when
night fell upon the streets, activity lessened to a more
noticeable level. The night held a peaceful and surreal feeling.
"For now perhaps, it won't stay this way for long." Wolfie
thought to himself in a sad tone.
Wolfie stared out into the night and noticed two knights were
walking towards them. The human made himself disappear and left
through the window Wolfie was looking out of.
"Well... he's gone now." He thought as he stared out the window,
following the scent of the human.
Wolfie turned his head to see how Tatsuo was doing and was
surprised to see that he was floating above the ground in a
state of meditation.
"Now that, I didn't know he could do."
Wolfie turned his gaze back outside to the lamp lit streets.
Moments later, Wolfie heard the sound of boots hitting the
wooden stairs.
"One of the knights?" Wolfie inquired to himself. Curious,
Wolfie left the window and went to sit in front of the door that
was used to gain entry the room. The sounds of boot hitting the
wooden floor were getting louder as they drew closer. When they
stopped Wolfie started flicking his tail in anticipation.
"'Knock knock, we're here for you, you nasty cat!'? I don't
think so."
Shortly after Wolfie heard the sound of two contacts and a small
thud.
"So that's where the human went.." Wolfie commented as he heard
the human's footsteps fade away.
"Okay then.." Without the thing that held his curiosity just
moments ago, Wolfie went back to Tatsuo's room only to stare out
the window into the streets.
It wasn't before long when the human re-appeared in the room. As
though he had just went out for a simple night time stroll, he
laid down on the couch and stared staring at the ceiling.
A quiet purr sounded from Tatsuo and moments later Wolfie
smelled something being burned. Alarmed. Wolfie whirled around,
looking frantically around for the source of the flame. What
Wolfie saw, again surprised him. It was a feint image of a
serpent like dragon that had its body wrapped around Tatsuo.
Confused Wolfie scanned the room again, and this time he saw a
floating bed and a sword dragging itself across the floor. The
crystal that laid in the hilt of the sword was glowing a strong
blue.
"A magic sword. Again, I am surprised..."
The sword leviated in strong of Tatsuo, eerily shifting up and
down. The dragon image roared at the sword and more electrical
sparks came off of Tatsuo. The crystal's glow intensified and
furniture close by began floating. To get Tatsuo's attention,
Wolfie gave a loud bark.

Eilam blinked when he felt his eyesight slowly zooming in
towards the ceiling. He looked around and quickly realized that
the couch as well as various other objects in the room were
suddenly floating, and by instinctive reaction, he leaped off
the furniture and drew his weapons at the ready. As he scanned
the area once more, kunais started to fly out of his pockets. He
quickly snatched and placed them back while sheathing his
weapons as the one Tatsuo called "Lux" gave a loud bark at the
Bastet/Siamese/Whatever.
The assassin's eyes slowly gazed upon a levitating sword in
front of the still-meditating Tatsuo, completely oblivious to
the events around him. "The cause of this gravitational anomaly?
Odd, there weren't any mentions of swords with an astonishing
feat on the Silver Cross Thieves' database..." he wondered.
