Chapter 2 : Alcubra Arc

another relic revealed itself. The location was the desert

"And so, what do you do if I were to die?"
"Establish my position as queen of Kanavan before anyone tries
to take it. Remind everyone that dad reminds their king and set
up a public tribute for your passing away."
"Good..."
"Mom, why are we doing this? Isn't it enough you're teaching me
politics, economics and war?"
"I'm sorry dear...I'm just worried is all... What happened is
Archimedia just got me thinking. If a war were to start here,
assassins might come after me..."
"Like they did after me when they thought I was the Grim
reaper.."
"I thought they called you the Harbringer of Death."
"They did, but they might as well have called me the Grim
reaper... In fact.. some of them did."
"HEY!" Ariel jumped at the sudden exclaimation from Kayla.
"Kayla?" Ariel's mother inquired. Ariel nodded.
"Oh my goodness! What?"
"Next relic appeared!"
"! Where is it?"
"It's on Alcubra."
"Okay. Go get everyone and have them meet me in my room."
"Got it."
"...Uhh... mom."
"Yes Ariel?"
"Could... could I go to Alcubra...?"
"Why..?"
"...I duno... study?"
"Study what?" Ariel's mother looked dubious of Ariel's sudden
interest in Alcubra.
"Study... uh... Kunji magic..? And learn about the insectian's
reason and logic...?"
"Well... Is Kayla going with you?"
"Yes.."
"And Wolfie?"
"Yes.."
"Then okay. When do you leave?"
"Now."
"O.. Well then, you better start packing up then."
"Thanks mom."
Ariel gave her mother a quick hug. Ariel's mother gave Ariel a
closed lip smile before leaving the garden.
"Okay... Time to start packing up..." Ariel muttered to herself
as she made her way to her room.

Kayla's POV
"Well then... Okay."
Kayla muttered something to herself and gave a sharp whistle.
Suddenly four shadows materialized and gave form to four maids
kneeing in front of Kayla with their heads bowed and their right
fist over their chest. They looked up and said, "What is your
command mistress?"
"You." Kayla pointed at the first maid.
"Find Adrea and tell her its time and to pack up. In fact, all
of you help the person I'm going to assign to you. Make sure
they get here as fast as possible."
"Yes Mistress." They all said in sync.
"Good. Okay you." Kayla pointed to the second maid.
"Find Lelia."
"That leaves you with finding Reiyanne. " Kayla said as she
pointed to the third maid.
"And you Aaron. Got it?" Kayla said to the fourth maid.
"Yes mistress."
"Good. Now go!"
They disappeared in a heartbeat.
"Phew.. Time to get to work..."

Aaron sighed as he sat in front of the doorsteps of his house.
His face bore a gloomy expression, thinking about all the events
that occured within Archimedia; it wasn't just the relic, the
Violet Mages, or the war he was concerned about, but his
friendship with his companions...
"Aaron, are you all right?" a gentle voice said accompanied by
the sounds of melodic sweet sounds from plucked strings. Aaron
looked up, and saw an elf playing her lyre.
"Lilly... my sincerest apologizes, but the past has been
upsetting my thoughts for quite some time." he responded.
"I see. You know that depression isn't good for you, no ifs or
buts. One day, you'll find a way to make up for your past. I
hope my song makes you feel better, too~"
"Thank you for your concern. It is always good to have friends
who cared."
"Of course~ Anything for a dear friend~"
The elf musician gave her pal a reassuring pat, then headed off
into the distance. Moments later, a running maid zipped by the
house, backed up for a bit and looked at Aaron.
"Excuse me, but are you Aaron?" the maid said.
"Yes. Do you require something from me?" Aaron replied. The maid
turned left, then, right, then left again, did a full 360 spin
to the right, and finally spoke in a hushed tone loud enough for
her client to hear.
"Mistress Kayla requests for you!"
Aaron nodded and told the maid to let him prepare for a few
minutes. He went back to his room and geared himself with newly
made silver armor created by his parents. He then picked up a
new one-handed sword, a weapon replacing his blade that broke
during the fight with the mechanical dragon, held it up high and
stared at it for a moment, muttering "father" quietly. He
sheathed it on his left hip and left the house. "I am ready."
The maid nodded and gestured Aaron to follow her.

Tatsuo ran to the edge of the airship as he noticed he has
finally arrived to Alcubra, the sun beating down on his fur he
put his paw over his forehead in the fashion where it would
block the sun from his eyes.
"I'm finally here.."
He ran back inside to his cabin to fetch his items, maneuvering
around the other passengers. Tatsuo growled a bit at the amount
of people he had to move around and mumbled to himself.
"All these freakin' people in my way..."
Finally reaching his cabin, he swung the door open and began to
pack his belongings. Instead of leaving his gloves in his bag,
he wore them instead, sending a little spark through them to
make sure it was still working. He then got down on his belly
and reached under his bed grabbing his sword 'The Forgotten',
finally now with all his things gathered he threw on his bag and
walked out of his cabin, shutting the door behind him with his
tail. There was a 'ding' on the ship notifying that they have
arrived at the Alcubra station, then a voice would echo through
the ship.
"We have now arrived at Alcubra's West Station, make sure you
have all of your belongings and please enjoy your time here at
Alcubra."
Hearing the announcement, Tatsuo ran out on deck and followed
the people that were getting off the ship. There was a lady at
the exit handing everyone a brochure of Alcubra which contained
a mini-map of the town and side info about the place. When
Tatsuo got to the lady, she gave him a wierd look before handing
him a brochure, all he did was softly growl as he grabbed it,
only wanting to get off the ship and finding the Alchemist he
was told about.
"I really hope people don't stare at me like that, I'd like to
enjoy my first trip out of Silverland.."
Tatsuo stood still for a moment after completely getting off the
ship to look at his mini-map with a confused look.
"Yes, cause this helps me so much.."

Ariel had just finished packing up her bag and was starting to
change when there was a knock at the door.
"I have Aaron with me, Princess Ariel."
"Ah, you're here. Please, come in." Ariel called from her
walk-in closet. The maid complied and open the door to Ariel's
bedroom and gestured for Aaron to go in.
"I'm a bit busy right now. Just you make yourself comfortable
Aaron. I won't be long."
Ariel did a double take and called out to the maid.
"Could you make some tea for us?"
"Of course Princess."
[hr]
Maid's POV
"Could you make some tea for us?"
"Of course Princess."
The maid took a handkerchief out of her pocket and put it over
her open palm. She takes her index finger and thumb to give the
top of the handkerchief a pinch. She lifts it off her hand with
a flick of her wrist to reveal a tea set with biscuits on a
tray.
"Would you like some tea Aaron?"

After a long run to the castle, some long corridors, a couple of
flights of staircases, and finally another long corridor, the
maid brought Aaron to a door. She gave it a couple of knocks and
spoke.
"I have Aaron with me, Princess Ariel."
"Ah, you're here. Please, come in. I'm a bit busy right now.
Just you make yourself comfortable Aaron. I won't be long."
Ariel called from in her room. The maid opened the door and
motioned Aaron to come in. Entering, he pulled the chair from
the tea table and sat down. Discomfort seemed to loom over his
facial expressions, considering his past with the princess plus
the fact that they haven't really talked in a while, although he
tries his best to hide it.
"Could you make some tea for us?"
"Of course Princess." The maid played a little game of magician
by summoning a tray of a tea set and biscuits underneath her
handkerchief she pulled out. Aaron clapped delightfully at this
scene.
"Would you like some tea Aaron?"
"Yes, please. Thank you for your generosity." Aaron said and
took one of the tea cups, sipped it, and smiled, feeling a bit
more relaxed, but still a bit uneasy.
"Lovely tea you have brought. My compliments to the maid."

"I'll let Kayla know." The maid said while giving Aaron a closed
lip smile. She looks about the room and starts tidying up the
place, regardless of its notable clean state. After a few
minutes Ariel came out of the closet in a silk white T-shirt and
small white shorts. She gave Aaron an practiced smile and walked
towards him as she said her greeting.
"Hello Aaron, Nina."
"Hello Princess, would you like some tea?"
"Yes I would. Thank you Nina." Ariel said as she sat down across
from Aaron.
The maid set a cup of tea in front of Ariel. She picked it up
and took a sip. Instead of putting it down, Ariel stared into
her cup of tea as she swirled the contents around.
"I am happy you came here as fast as you did. I wanted to have a
private conversation with you before I leave."

clean-up the room, despite being so neat and clean. It was not
long until Ariel came out of her closet, dressed nicely in
white. Like the maid, she smiled and walked towards Aaron, who
smiled meekly.
"Hello Aaron, Nina."
"Hello Princess, would you like some tea?"
"Yes I would. Thank you Nina." said the princess as she sat down
across from her guest. The maid set a cup of tea in front of
Ariel. She picked it up and sipped, then fiddled with it by
swirling the liquid around.
"I am happy you came here as fast as you did. I wanted to have a
private conversation with you before I leave." Aaron looked at
her curiously. From their adventure, she didn't seem too pleased
with Aaron.
"Of course, Lady Ariel. I was planning to announce something to
you and the others, but the lady shall have the first say."
Aaron replied with a hint of discomfort in his voice.

Ariel noticed the discomfort in Aaron's voice. Taking another
sip of tea she looked at him.
"Whom do you report to Aaron?"

"Whom do you report to Aaron?"
"Report? Well, I am not a member of the Royal Guard, the Ruby
Knights, nor the kingdom's armed forces. As such, my information
goes to my father of the Royal Guard or Her Majesty. Why do you
ask?"
