Backstory:
Eilam was a member of the Silver Cross Thieves. Left as an
orphan, the entire guild acted as a surrogate family. As the
years passed, his training and experience in assassination grew.
At the age of 5, he picked up the sword, and shortly after he
learned to dual wield. At 7, he proved to be a master of stealth
and had begun carrying missions. By the age of 8, Eilam's
mastery of equipment expanded over to the double weapon, an
extremely rare tool said to have been used by only one man: Ryan
the Vanquisher of the Grand Chase. Eilam's skills continued to
grow as he mercilessly annihilated the monsters of Ellia and
struck fear amongst them; by the age of 12, he was finally
recognized as one of the guild's elites.
However, his life was about to change when Eilam reached the age
of fourteen. The Silver Cross Thieves assigned him a solo
mission to search for traces of a Dark Mage within Kastulle
Ruins. The two eventually came face-to-face, the latter who
introduced herself as Xion. She stated that humans are the true
monsters, beginning needless wars and fights with monsters. She
also claimed humanity fought for "peace" which in reality was a
putrid goal that monsters have labeled "strife". She then shows
a vision to Eilam, revealing horrible events that the Silver
Cross Thieves had created: attacking and burning a forest of
peaceful Ents and Fairies, squishing slimes and polluting their
lakes. Eilam tried to reason that they were truly evil until
Xion shows another vision, displaying that the guild even
murdered Eilam's parents and the town they lived in, then
recruited Eilam just so he can repeat their reign of terror.
Horrified at this vision, Eilam agreed to join Dark Mage Xion.
For three years, he worked as a double agent against the Silver
Cross Thieves while learning how to channel his affinity to
darkness.
When he was ready, he led a siege on the Silver Cross Thieves'
base, commanding Xion's army. However, the guild had already
knew of Eilam's plot from the very beginning and easily defeated
the army of Xion's monsters. He was then cornered and was
questioned about his allegiance with the Dark Mage. After Eilam
called the Silver Cross Thieves "vile, corrupted monsters" and
stated about the visions Xion presented to him, they argued that
Xion was simply using him and what he is doing is no better, and
reminds him that one of the powers of a Dark Mage revolves
around illusions and trickery. Their response caused Eilam to
hesitate and think for a moment. After concluding that Xion
manipulated him, he immediately withdrew and fled the base.
Upon Eilam's return to the Dark Mage, she attacks him, revealing
that he was indeed a pawn and she had used him as an example of
how corrupt humans are. A heated battle broke out between the
two, with Eilam eventually overcoming Xion. Looking back on all
that had occured, Eilm asked himself how to atone for his sins.
He then remembered stories of how Lass had wanted to undo his
wrongs by joining the Grand Chase and fighting against evil.
Wishing to do the same, Eilam sets off to continue eliminating
the darkness that threatened the world, while avoiding the light
that seeks him.
