Kanavan Colosseum - World Tournament
By: Darkboy132 Date: December 10, 2011, 11:50 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Come one, come all! Today is our four hundredth
anniversary where we celebrate the birth of the Grand Chase!
Every year, citizens from all over the world compete within the
Kanavan Colosseum to honor those who saved us many years ago.
After all, fighting is what they did best!
So, are you ready to battle for your ancestors?!?
"The World Tournament... A game where people brawl one another
with participants from all over the world, whether good or
evil..."
Aaron, a knight of Kanavan, stood in front of the massive
Colosseum as numerous people around him walked in and out of the
large building.
"Good morning, Aaron! Are you going to compete in the
tournament?" said a cheery voice made by Lily, an elf and
Aaron's friend.
"The games were intended for fun, however some see it as a test
of skill or in the minds of an antagonist figure, to see how
their enemies have improved or weakened. I am playing for the
former two reasons. After all, I have competed once or twice
when I was younger." Aaron replied to his friend.
"Well then! I shall be rooting for you~ Farewell~" Lily
responded as she hugged Aaron and went inside the building. The
knight soon followed in afterwards.
Inside the Colosseum, there were hundreds and thousands of
people here and there trying to find seats or sign up. A drone
hosting Kanavan's Emblem flew near Aaron and spoke in a robotic
tone.
"Excuse me sir. Are you signing up for the tournament?"
"Why, yes I am." the drone then flashed a blue beam on Aaron as
if it were scanning him.
"Scanning......... Scan complete. You are Sir Aaron of the
Kingdom of Kanavan. Energy Blader. Hard working citizen who aids
others in need. Please confirm."
"Confirmed."
"Congratulations. You have finished registering for the
tournament. The games start within an hour and thirty minutes.
Please do not be late. I wish you the best of luck, sir." the
drone then flew away to another person.
"Excuse me sir. Are you signing up for the tournament?"
"Thankfully Kanavan made the alliance with the Dwarves of
Archimedia... These drones seem to be more handy than the
registration systems used a long time ago..." Aaron commented as
he walked out of the building.

The Kanavan Colosseum, a massive arena home to many epic
competitions and battles between archers, mages, and warriors
alike. Many travel from afar just to partake in events hosted in
the Colosseum. Today's grand tournament celebrates the 400th
anniversary of the Grand Chase, an elite band of heroes that
saved the world from the Dark Mistress Kaze'aze.
A red-haired girl stood in front of the Colosseum, marvelling at
the tough-looking participants rather than the massive
structure.
"Looks like I've got a whole bunch of competition. This is gonna
be fun."
Ardea roughly pushed aside the crowd and made her way into the
Colosseum. A drone greeted her as she stepped into the building.
"Registration." it stated in a robotic tone. "Sign me up!" Ardea
said with a confident smile.
A blue beam shot out of the drone and quickly scanned the girl.
"Ardea Teiral of Kanavan. Lowborn. Adopted daughter of Priestess
Milleuda and ex-soldier of Her Majesty's army. Please confirm."
Ardea's confident smile quickly turned into an angry scowl, and
she promptly kicked the machine. "The tournament will commence
in an hour and thirty minutes! Best of luck to you...! " The
robot quickly fled and approached the next person.

"Hey look isn't he cute?"
"Yeah I spotted him too, his hair are so strange but..."
Two girl were whispering in Kanavan city while staring at a
young man with strangely silver hair. That person was quietely
walking looking around as if he were lost. To him Kanavan was
really different from everything he knew so far but it
definitely had a certain charm. He actually had trouble to find
a nice spot to read his new acquired book "The art of sword
summoning by Master Spell Knight, Lord Erudon".
As he was walking around, he could see how lively the city was,
in fact it was a bit too loud for him. And his hair color didn't
help him, everyone was staring at him, he even put plain clothes
in order to avoid people's gaze but his flashy hair were just
too much.
After wandering for a while, he finally gave up on finding a
nice reading spot and headed toward the loudest place in the
city : the Coloseum.
Because of the World Tournament, this place was extremely busy,
having all kind of warriors showing up. It might just be his
imagination but the young man thought he saw a Kungji swordsman.
When he reached the entrance, two guards stopped him after
looking at each other and smirking.
"Kid, sorry but looking at you, you stand no chance there !"
"You heard him, and don't even try to beg, we won't let you in."
Looking right at them, the young man answered slightly.
"...Spectator..."
"Sorry but it's full..."
"... But since we are nice guys, we might let you enter for a...
let's say... small gift."
A bribe... as he was reading to force his way, a voice was heard
from behind.
"Are you saying that guests from Serdin desn't have a VIP
seats?"
Turning around, a tall man was grinning, his face covered by
scar was the proof of his achievement as a soldier.
"Our Queen decided to invite some of our citizen to this event
so that they can meet their neighbor from Kanavan. Hopefully you
weren't trying to extort his money?"
"O- 0f course not! It's just that..."
"We didn't know!"
"We'll show him his room right away!"
Following the guard, they reached a really decorated door.
After knocking on the door, the young man finally entered.
"So how was Kanavan Aeon?"
"... Loud..."
The Queen surrounded by her personnal army -The Saint Black-
was looking at Aeon with her usual gentle smile.
Putting his uniform, Aeon finally joined his comrade. One of
them stared at him and said.
"You'll be the one in charge of the Queen, make sure nothing
happen to her. And make sure no one knows about "us"."

"I wonder how the playouts will turn out this year...?" Aaron
wondered as he headed to a fielded training area just outside
the Colosseum.
"Welcome to the simulated training field. Please stand on the
blue square within the enclosed red field to begin." said a
robotic tone. The field then lighted up as red, and in the
center was a blue square. Aaron followed the instructions of the
drone.
"Now, please select your opponent's difficulty. Will it be easy,
hard, or hell?"
"Any will do."
"A fine choice! Now, how will the play-ups be set? Will it be
one-on-one, team, free-for-all, or all-against-one?
"I would not mind all four choices."
"Very well. Please, train till your heart's desire. But
remember, be sure to take breaks now and then. Also, the
tournament starts in approximately one hour and twenty minutes.
The simulation will cancel fifteen minutes before the games. I
wish you the best of luck!"
In the first simulation battle, an Orc Lord appeared on the
field along with five Orc Warriors. One of the warriors charged
blindly, but was easily dispatched by a sidestep and a swing to
the creature's back. The remaining four then charged angrily,
the first swung but missed by a duck and taken out by a upper
slash, the next dodged by a back step and knocked out with a
sharp forward thrust, the third and fourth tried to overwhelm
their opponent by attacking on both sides but was removed from
play by a 360 degree spin.
The Orc Lord roared furiously after his minions were defeated.
He then stomped his way towards Aaron and slammed his hammer
down, which missed. Before Aaron could strike, the Lord's free
hand attempted to grab him, but he back flipped out of the way,
however the hand of the beast struck his foot and caused him to
trip. Aaron rolled backward and jumped to the side to avoid the
next strike of the hammer that erupted rock slabs from the
ground. Aaron retaliated by throwing a crescent blade at the Orc
and then sharply thrusted forward into the beast's knee, causing
it to fall on its knee. Aaron quickly charged up a horizontal,
powerful crescent blade which toppled over the beast. It groaned
loudly and was incapacitated. The bodies of the simulated Orcs
then vanished into thin air.
"Well played, young knight. Please take a five minute break
before your next simulated battle."

"I'm seeing posters of this...tournament all over the place, I
might as well give it a look. I could practice my sword skills
here...and possibly show off a bit with some old magics." Rex
made his way to the large colosseum which is visible from almost
across the entire kingdom. As he got closer he noticed dwarven
machines scanning those who enter.
"These machines cease to amaze me...I'd just love to take one
apart and see what sort of magic it runs on." He quietly mumbled
to himself, it wasn't long before he was approached by one of
these machines.
"Good morning sir. Are you applying for the tournament?"
"Yes."
A light blue laser came out from the machine and ran down my
body scanning me.
"Rex Onari of SilverLand. Abandoned home to further his studies
on an unknown weapon. Please confirm." He was impressed on how
much just one scan could do and how much it could learn from it.
He nodded.
"Confirmed."
"The tournament will begin in an hour and twenty minutes! I wish
you luck and enjoy your time here!"
The machine zoomed away heading to another customer, Rex takes
off his bag and starts to rummage through his things. He wasn't
sure what he would use in the fight, use what he knows best
and just go with hand-to-hand or use the magics he's been
learning during his journey. He didn't think he'd be able to do
any good with the sword in a proper battle, but this could be a
good opportunity to improve his skills and possibly find
something out about it. He shook his head and pulled out a small
bottle with a red liquid in it to calm his nerves, he packed up
his bag. He decided that he'll use hand-to-hand with a mix of
magic, making sure that he'd have a good balance between
long-range, mid-range and close combat. Satisfied with his
choice he sets off to the training corner to test it out on how
well it would fair in battle.

Aaron popped open a bottle of water the simulated training field
provided and drunk it down. Feeling refreshed, he picked up his
blade as the next opponent was being simulated.
Out of the blue, an incompletely-simulated figure struck its
sword from the rear in a thrusting manner, which was avoided by
a sidestep and retaliated with a swing. The opponent, now
rendered defeated, turned out to be a Ghost Blader of Gaikoz's
Samurai Squadron. The other Blader had been completely
simulated, and started to attack from all directions.
"Eclipse"! shouted Aaron as he performed a 360 degree spin to
wipe out his surrounding opponents. One shooter attacked using
its frail bullet, easily blocked and countered with a crescent
blade. A loud "cracking" lightning sound was made by an oncoming
Samurai who dropped in from above. It then created a slashing
circle to attack, which was avoided by a backflip and countered
with a jump and a strike to the head. The attack broke off the
mask of the beast, but it still stood, the head flaring with red
fire. It then created a storm of lightning around it and on the
field, preventing Aaron from nearing. He fired a few large
crescent blades which soared through the trails of lightning and
impacted the armor of the beast. It fell after another large
crescent blade was made. Afterwards, more Bladers appeared in
front of their opponent in a straight line.
"Blithering idiots! Hypersonic Stab!" muttered an ominous voice
that cut through the line of Bladers. A samurai-like figurine
was in place, wearing red and hosting bluish flames and red eyes
for a soul, along with a faint violet aura. It was none other
than Gaikoz, the Samurai Knight who once served the evil.
"Gaikoz... the Vengeful one..."
"These minions are simply trash... I'll deal with you myself!"
Both combatants readied their blades. The Vengeful Gaikoz made
the first move and disappeared with quick speed.
