You are absolutely brilliant with all this comedy stuff! :D I
believe you could well make a damn good living off of half the
scenes you come up with by sending them in to shows and such
haha. I loved that part :] especially with them all rolling
around in the mud and attacking each other with it as though it
were snow.. such childish boys they are. I felt sorry for Izzy
though :D I can't imagine he would have gone anywhere near them
if he'd noticed what was going on xD haha.

Aww thank you, you made me blush! Y'know I never once thought to
send my ideas in anywhere, haha. I'm so sorry about not replying
sooner but I had that damn doctor's appointment. I was put on
that this awful antinausea medication and it knocked me out.
It's a little after 5:30 here and I'm officially wide awake so I
might just add more on to this for you, my muse is wide awake as

       One Week Before Christmas '90
The past four years went by in a blur, the band had sky rocketed
onto the music scene and we fell into a routine. When the band
went out on tour to open for various acts I stayed home and
tried to keep a grip on my sanity. It was always the same
though, I'd get a phone call to meet them at the airport and be
gone in a flash an hour early awaiting my boys at the gate, my
heart beating a million miles a minute.
Last week had been no different, the phone rang around eleven
that morning and I was off down the driveway in a newer version
of the junk heap that had carried us to LA as well as hauled
equipment to many a show when they were first starting out. By
twelve I was in the parking garage and on my way to the arrival
area to wait for two hours. At two I'd heard the flight number
called off and I scanned the crowd trying to see a shock of red
hair or a shrill "I'm tellin' Shelley!" The first familiar face
I'd see was always Axl which made my already hammering heart
beat that much faster. I'd be off like a shot, arms wide open
and taking a flying leap into his arms as he set his bags down.
"Oh you two, c'mon..." Steven had whined and was quickly shut up
by a smack to the back of the head from Duff.
"Shut up man, they haven't see each other in months. Oh, wait,
you're still going through the girls have cooties phase, aren't
you?" Slash chuckled as he lit what was probably his hundredth
cigarette of the day. Now that the guys were actually home for a
holiday I already had most of the house decorated but I had held
off on getting a tree due to our own little family like dynamic
we usually did that together. Having them home was both a
blessing and curse but I don't think I'd have it any other way,
I got to see the people that I missed to much but I didn't enjoy
getting requests for their favorite holiday treats. My day
started much too early this morning and now I was covered in
flour, second guessing my measurements, and wondering if I'd
just put in salt intead of sugar or sugar instead of salt. In
short, my normally calm cool demeanor was shattered by the
       holiday season.
Was it cream the butter first and then add the egg and sugar or
cream the egg and sugar and then add the butter? I thought to
myself as I measured out ingredients for yet more Christmas
cookies. I had been drawing a blank lately on these things and
chalked it up to the holiday season. I shrugged it off with the
reasoning that it all gets mixed together anyway and finished
the batter and set it aside as I heard the front door swing open
and the guys struggle to bring in the tree.
"I don't see why we had to get a real one...they make that spray
for the plastic ones." Slash muttered as
trudged through the front door trying support the top of the
tree and watch where he was going.
"We've been through that one before, remember last year? You
ended up scorching the curtains and burning the presents because
you tried to spray the tree when you were lighting a cigarette."
Steve retorted as he struggled with his side of the tree.
I wiped my flour dusted hands on my apron and came out into the
living room to take a look at the tree. I stood there for a
second, my eyes wide at the sheer size of the gigantic tree that
was now standing in the middle of the room, the guys crowded
around it grinning from ear to ear at their treasured find.
"You always said you wanted atleast one fresh tree since we
moved here and now we've got the room so here ya go." Steven
said before giving me a hug and going into the kitchen.
I did a quick head count and found that Izzy and Axl were
nowhere to be found which I found very odd. Slash, Steven, and
Duff were now poking around the kitchen looking for something to
       eat like three rabid raccoons.
I shooed them away from the cooling racks of gingerbread and
sugar cookies and put a plate of warm oatmeal raisin bars down
on the table along with mugs for hot chocolate.
"Anyone know where Axl and Izzy are?" I asked as I warmed milk
on the stove and got the Swiss Miss from the overhead cabinet.
"Oh, He and Izzy went to...ughmgph" Steven was cut off by Duff
shoving a rather large oatmeal square into Steven's mouth to
       keep him quiet.
"They went to the liquor store. Axl was saying something about
getting a bottle of...of...Slash, what was it they were picking
       up again?"
Slash was focused on choosing just the right sized square off
the plate and waved Duff off for a second.
"A bottle of red wine or something. You might want to give
Steven another square, he's not blue anymore."
Steven's color had returned and he opened his mouth to say
something "No, they went to the jew...mughpff."
"Have another square, Steven old pal...and shut the hell up!"
Duff growled as he crammed yet another square into Steven's
       mouth.
I shook my head as I set down mugs of hot chocolate in front of
them and eased myself down into a kitchen chair.
"You look worn out, Shell. You ok?" Duff asked as he sipped his
cocoa and reached for a sugar cookie from the cooling rack
behind him. I sighed and looked up at him giving a look of
certain death if touched those sugar cookies.
       "Yeah, I'm just I don't know...I'm out of it I guess. " I forced
a small weak smile on my face as I reassured them that it was
nothing serious. I didn't have the heart to tell the guys that
I had recieved a phone call from my stepmother, Susan, telling
me that my Dad was in the hospital back home in Lafayette. They
weren't sure what was going on with her just yet but when they
found out I'd be the first to know. I also didn't tell them that
a little piece of my heart broke every time the phone rang.
I heard the familiar squeak of the front door as Izzy and Axl
made their way in from the living room the phone rang. I felt my
       heart stop for a second.
"Hello? Hey there Susan, yeah, She's here hang on a second."
Axl's head popped in from around the corner of the living room
and into the kitchen doorway. I noticed his face was tense but
didn't give much away. My stomach turned as I got up and took
the phone and closed the kitchen door behind me. Leaving the
       guys to talk amongst themselves.

Oh my god! :( that part was so sad, I hope her dad is alright.
Good on her though for doing all that baking and getting things
all sorted for the holiday season even though she doesn't seem
too fond of it :D haha. I would hate living with all of them you

I'm sorry! I didn't mean to make it so sad, but it's only going
to get worse before it gets better I'm afraid. :( The boys'
childish antics are going to go on for a bit longer but they do
have the best of intentions. I'm still working a few things out
I seem to have fudged a bit with their band history/time line
and I beg your forgiveness. I also apologize if this seems short
and the formatting weird. I do hope you enjoy it though. :D
I went out into the living room and tried to catch my breath as
I listened to a sobbing Susan.
"The doctors said that it would just be a routine bypass
surgery, that nothing would go wrong and that we shouldn't
worry. He went in four hours ago and I thought everything was
going to be fine, y'know how he was with the first one. In and
       out and no problems."
I noticed Susan's voice got higher and she startled to ramble,
my stomach turned and the room now had dancing black dots waving
in front of the otherwise cheery decor.
"The surgery went fine, just fine. He didn't bleed out like the
last time or anything...but when it came time to start his heart
       again, they cc..couldn't. They just couldn't. "
Susan broke down in a torrent of fresh sobs and my world slowly
came crumbling down around me as memories of my Father came
       flooding back in a whirl.
For a second I was five again helping him out in the orchards in
the summer, the next I was going to senior prom with Axl and
promising him I'd be home by two, the next I was packing for
California promising him I'd call every day and that I loved
him, that I was scared for what might happen, him telling me
that he had all the faith in the world in us and that we were
made of the right stuff to make it, me telling him that I loved
him again and again as we backed out of the driveway. The call
I'd put through to him when the guys were first signed, the
three hours conversation I'd had just a week before to him,
wishing him a Merry Christmas and telling him that we all loved
and missed him and that Axl and I would be down for New Years.
Nothing was ever going to be the same again and somehow the
world which I'd known just hours before, that safe secure world
was gone like a whisp of smoke caught on a gust of wind.
I felt the tears spring up in my eyes and over flow, my heart
ached for what was and what never would be. My father was never
going to get to walk me down the aisle or see his grandchildren
come into the world. My father was gone and there was nothing I
could do about it. I had never in all my twenty-seven years
       felt so alone.
I heard Susan sniffle and switch hands around with the reciever
and take a shakey breath before continuing.
"Right before he went back in the operating room he told me to
tell you that he loved you and that he always would no matter
what happened and that he was so happy for you."
I sobbed a reply and told her I'd be out on the next available
flight and that I loved her.
My body started to shake and my stomach rolled as I tried to
steady myself but ended up leaning against the wall unable to
catch my breathe. I was wreacked with sobs all over again,
reduced to a shuddering, quivering mess with tears streaming
down my face as I stumbled into the kitchen grasping wildly at
the doorjamb to try to regain my balance. Axl was by my side in
a flash holding me up and then easing me into a sitting position
in the middle of the kitchen his back against the wall as he
cradled me and tried to soothe me like the sobbing child I'd
       been reduced to.
The only thing I could manage to utter was "He's gone,
       Billy...he's really gone."
I barely spoke a word during the entire three hour flight back
to Indiana, or during the funeral preceedings which just
consisted of a briefing on what music was to be played and what
type of urn he would have wanted. I was totally numb during the
service and the reading of the will, I'd inherited the house and
the orchards which were paid off in full, Susan inherited and
would be moving over into the house that had been built in
Hobart. The drive back down that dirt road used to mean that I
was truly home, now it was just a shell brimming with memories
of happier times. Axl and I had opted to check out of the hotel
and spend the remainder of our two week stay in the house. As we
drove down that old deserted back round my stomach did a
complete turn over and I broke out into a cold sweat despite the
fridgid weather and five inches of snow on the ground. I
attempted to focus my attention on anything but getting sick but
the smell of stale cigarette smoke and funeral flowers that
still wafted in the car broke my focus. I gripped the side
paneling and heard my nails scrape against the hard plastic as
       my stomach rolled again.
"Pull over!" I barked at a bewildered Axl who swerved onto the
shoulder of the road, his green eyes large and mouth slightly
open in shock from my first verbal exchange in nearly three
days. I hurtled myself out of the passenger seat and wobbled
over to a snow drift and felt like I was going to heave my
       entire stomach up.
After twenty minutes of standing out in the bitter cold heaving
and wretching Axl ended up carrying me back to the car and then
into the house where I promptly fell into a dreamless sleep.
I was awakened by a low grumble coming from the kitchen and a
       clear metalic clang.
       "Damn...stupid...son of a...c'mon!" was all I heard then a
shriek of pain that brought me to my feet and out into the
       kitchen to investigate.
There poor Axl was in all his jeans and flannel Indiana hayseed
glory trying to fix a pipe under the sink. I bent down and
tapped his leg causing him to jump again and another metalic
clunk to echo through the kitchen.
" Sorry! I didn't mean to scare you...What did you hit, Axl? I
mean besides your head. C'mon let me have a look, you've done
       worse I swear."
I said softly as he came up into the stark light of the kitchen.
I noticed he had a rather nasty cut and a bruise on his forehead
that hopefully his bangs would cover and a black eye starting to
       form.
"The wrench slipped and hit me...a couple of times."
He muttered sheepishly as I helped him to his feet and down into
       a kitchen chair.
"Here, tilt your head while I get some ice for that eye. What in
the world possessed you to try to fix it?" I asked as I handed a
now beet red Axl an ice pack and sat down across from him.
"That stupid leak kept me up last night, it was all I heard that
steady drip drip drip and it drove me nuts. I didn't want it to
bother you, not that I think you heard anything anyway, you were
all but dead to world, but I thought I'd surprise you or
       something."
He sat back gently put the ice pack to his eye and looked at me
still slightly sheepish but with a small boyish smile that still
made me weak in the knees.
I felt myself turn a bright pink as I said "Well, you certainly
did surprise me so thank you."
I leaned across the table and pulled him in for a kiss that
turned into full fledged groping session that was broken by a
knock at the backdoor that left both of us swearing under our
       breath.
I rolled my eyes as I straightened myself up and looked through
the curtain to see a shivering group of leather clad bandmates
huddled together on the back porch.
Steven was the only one grinning from ear to ear like some sort
of dim witted elf. He squished his face against the glass and
shouted "Merry Christmas!!" All four waved merrily and stood
there buried under bags, boxes, and duffel bags.
I had no sooner opened the door and they were bustling in and
enveloping a very bewildered Axl and I in hugs, kisses, and
       condolences.
"It just didn't feel like home without you guys and we knew
you'd need us so here we are." Duff blurted out as he set down a
few bags and shook the snow off of himself.
"I tried to tell them that you two would be just fine but they
didn't listen...I'm sorry..." Izzy all but whispered from the
corner of the kitchen while examining his boots.
Steven let out a whoop and took off out the door to watch with
       glee as more snow fell.
"I wonder how long it's going to take him to find the barn..."
Axl sighed as we all watched Steven run around by the old
       chicken coop.
All I could do was laugh and cry, the home I'd grown up knowing
as a safe place had become a refuge for this new rag tag family
       of mine.
I failed to notice Izzy handing Axl a small box as I kept a
close eye on Steven who had wandered closer and closer to the
       old flag pole.
"Ten bucks says he gets his tongue st...too late." Slash
chuckled as I shrugged myself into my coat and got a mug of hot
water from the still dripping tap. I had a feeling that this was
going to be the kickstart to an odd and wonderful new year.

       Christmas Eve '90
Thump. Clink. Thump. Clink. Thump. Clink.
I was trying to finish a novel that I'd had sitting by the
nightstand for months now and I'd finally gotten to the good
part when I heard a squabble start to break out in the kitchen.
"Knock it off Steven. I'm trying to write here..."
I heard Slash grumble and then a loud *Smack!* was heard. A
howl echoed through the otherwise quiet house. Another storm had
blown in making the roads nothing but sheets of ice leaving the
six of us stuck indoors. My patience was wearing thin from
having to settle squabbles about who got the last of the milk,
who got to take a shower first, or what Christmas special we
watched on TV at night. My stress levels were at an all time
high and I noticed the liquor cabinet that was once well stocked
was almost down to nothing, and I was the only one with the key.
Axl was busy trying to find things to fix around the house or
trying to organize the attic, he had the best of intentions but
at times it was just too much for me. I also noticed that he
seemed to be preoccupied with something and he was keeping his
       distance from me.
A slap fight could be heard in the kitchen and the unmistakable
sound of breaking china along with an "Uhoh." I eased myself off
the couch and went in to see what the commotion was all about.
Steven and Slash were standing there like terrified little boys
as I looked back and forth between them and the broken pieces of
a decorative plate I'd made in a ceramics class in high school.
I glowered and a little red hot flickering flame I'd carried and
tried to snuff out for the past few days flared causing my blood
       boil.
       "Get. Out. Of. The. Kitchen."
I breathed in a very measured tone only to be pushed over the
edge by Steven coming in complaining that his tongue was still
raw and sore, Slash followed behind whining about how Steven
made him do it, and a thud could be heard in the attic along
       with a muffled "I think I'm stuck!"
I let out a shriek that I'm sure the next three counties could
hear as I grabbed my already deshevled hair and paced to and fro
       in the kitchen.
" If one more person complains about being sore, sick, tired,
or hungry I'm going to lose it. You're like overgrown children.
As much as I love you guys you're just too much right now.

I can't take it, not now atleast. You need a creative
outlet or something...you can't play nice together outside, you
can't work together inside, Axl's banished you from the attic.."
I mumbled to myself giving the worried four in front of me to
look at one another as if I'd gone crazy.
Steven opened his mouth to say something and I looked at him
with a wild gleam in my eye.
       "Don't. Say. A .Word. Steven."
"But I..." was all I needed as I grabbed Slash and Steven by the
wrist and put them each in a corner of the living room.
"You act like children then this how you'll be dealt with." I
grumbled as I set the kitchen timer for thirty minutes and set
it down on the side table in the livingroom.
"When the timer goes off you can each go to your rooms until I
call you out for dinner." I made my up the stairs and turned to
face the drop down staircase for the attic and called over my
       shoulder
"If anyone says a word or even so much as thinks of touching
that timer I'm coming back down and I can assure you that you're
       not going to want that."
I ventured up the dimly lit steps and poked my head up into the
attic to see Axl wedged inbetween a chest of drawers and the
wall with a very vexed look on his face and a slight blue tinge
       to his lips.
"How...Why...Ok, not going to ask what the hell you were trying
to do. Just give me your hand."
Axl scowled and shivered as he tried for what might have been
the hundreth time to free himself.
"I was up here sorting stuff out into those boxes you gave so
you'd have something to take back to LA with you and I dropped
something it ended up behind here and now I'm...stuck."
I bit back a laugh as I noticed Axl was now covered with cobwebs
and had smudges of dust around his face. I reached for his
armand then realized that pulling on him wasn't going to work so
I ended up pressing my shoulder against the chest of draws and
pushing it toward the wall. Three solid pushes and many swear
words later the dresser was moved and Axl was home free. I on
the other hand ended up with a severly sore shoulder and a
       hatred of heavy furniture.
As I straightned up I felt a twinge in my stomach and then a
flood of black dots in my field of vision. I shook it off after
       a few seconds.
"You ok? You look a little pale, Shel." Axl asked as we made our
       way downstairs.
"Yeah, I think I just pulled something that's all.." I was cut
off by the shrill sound of the timer going off in the kitchen.
Axl walked past the livingroom and then back tracked as he
glanced down at the answering machine.
"Hey...how come nobody answered the phone?" Axl called from the
livingroom as he played back the message. A few seconds went by
as I finished cleaning up the mess in the kitchen and I heard a
yelp from the hallway as Axl came running into the kitchen.
"We're going on tour! Our very own tour!"
I dropped the shards of ceramics and let out a yelp of joy
before pulling Axl into an excited hug and kissing him for well
       over a minute.
Slash and Steven let out whoops from the living room and a crash
was heard followed by a "Steven did it!"
Izzy came up from the basement in a haze of smoke and giggles
       slung over Duff's shoulders.
"Yeah..Steven totally did it...right, Duff?" Izzy giggled as
Duff leaned him against the wall and tried to get him steady on
       his own two feet.
"Yeah...Steven totally did it...right Duff?" Izzy repeated in a
       voice unlike his own.
Duff sighed as he nodded and agreed with an obviously hazed up
       Izzy.
Slash came out of the kitchen with a rather large sandwich,a
soda and a bag of chips. This was how it usually went in the
house, I'd end up shopping about twice a week when the guys were
home just to have something in the house. I'd ended up having to
buy certain things in bulk just to have enough to go around.
"What the hell's wrong with you ?"
Izzy started to howl even more before catching a glimpse of
       Slash's sandwich.
"Hey dude, you gonna eat all that?" Izzy said as he inched
closer to Slash who rolled his eyes as he handed his place over
to a rather wolfish Izzy and then went back into the kitchen to
       make himself one.
"Don't even think about touching those chips, you little pot
head! If you do I'm breaking your fingers."
Steven bit back a laugh as Izzy nonchelantly grabbed the bag of
chips and opened them without a care in the world for Slash's
warning. I leaned over and sniffed Izzy and found the pungent
smell of pot wafting off his clothes.
"He's baked. I have no idea where or how he got it into the
house but he's toasted out of his skull."
Izzy was oblivious to the conversation and zoned in on pigging
       out.
"So, when do we go out?" Slash enquired as he settled into the
easy chair clear away from the Bob Marley would be who was
scarfing down the bag of chips and eyeing the candy dish on the
       table.
"We're kicking it off on January 20th..." Axl said as he flopped
down on the couch next to a now overstuffed and snoring Izzy.
"Well, have fun guys. I'll be keeping the fort down for you, do
you want me to start making lists of what you should be
packing?" I asked my mind racing with a million and one things
to get done for them by the time they were scheduled to leave.
Slash took a bite of his towering sandwich and thought for a
       second, swallowed and then continued.
"Why don't we bring Shell with us? I mean she's been with us
since day one and you know we're going to need her help. We all
get homesick, we can even put her on pay roll as an assistant."
Something flickered across Axl's face that I just couldn't place
but he soon slapped a grin on his face.
"Sure, I don't see why not."
I had a feeling that something was up and I couldn't quite put
my finger on it but judging by the feeling I had in the pit of
my stomach that something wasn't going to be good. Time would
tell, all I had to do was play the waiting game.

I'm still loving how they all manage to get themselves into
trouble with Shell haha. I would have been beating them all over
the head with a frying pan by now I think. Poor Axl for getting
stuck! :D that bit made me giggle quite a bit. I'm wondering now
what's wrong with Shell though :/ I'm starting to worry a lot
       for her.
