When Nothing Remains
DIR By: Wolfy

I'm giving this a go as I have never written a story about Dani
before, but the lack of them online annoys me, so I'm creating
the first! More will be added as I write it :]
HTML http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa285/Danisvampiress/dani_filthkj.jpg
---------------------------------------------------------
About halfway through my best friends new movie and with nothing
but silence engulfing the room; fear rose in my body. The
deafening screams of tormented victims surrounded the sofa on
which I sat curled up in one corner under a fluffy blanket.
Toward the end I was too shaken to even move a muscle upon
hearing the phone ring. At such an ungodly hour though, I
wondered who wanted to hear my voice. Glancing over at the phone
as it continued to ring, I mustered up all the bravery I could
find and stumbled over to it, the blanket wrapped tightly around
me still.
“Ember, what’s all that noise coming from your hotel room?”
questioned the sleepy voice of Dani, the star in this movie that
had been bothering me for the last hour.
“It’s the sound of your favourite victims Dani. I thought you
would have recognised it. How on earth could you even go through
with filming such horrid things?” I half yelled down the phone.
As I awaited an angry outburst over bad mouthing his latest
raise in stardom, the sound of a dead tone entered my ear. He
had hung up on me, he actually had the nerve to hang up while I
was in the middle of complaining. Not that I blamed him of
course as I often went on and on for hours when something phased
me so much. Growling in annoyance, I slammed the phone down and
switched off the movie to finish it some other day. Clinging
tightly to the blanket wrapped around my shaking body, I walked
over to the switch and the lights flickered on around me. The
time read 3am and I knew I was going to pay for staying up so
late come the morning. My working hours were so strict due to
touring with my friends band that I often had to fight back
falling asleep whilst on duty. My job as an assistant to the
guys was to be sure their outfits were properly designed and
fitted, along with applying all of their make up in individual
ways. Dani always had to have the most outrageous designs
painted on his face and always made sure there was enough work
for me to be doing. I was thankful of course given that my pay
was high, but the hours in which he had me working were
ridiculous. I rarely had even one day off a week.
“Ember, open this door” called a sleepy voice from the other
side as a knock followed.
“No, go back to your room. I’m going to get some sleep before
it’s time to leave” I yelled, cursing him and hoping he wouldn’t
hear me mumbling profanities.
The knocking died down after about ten minutes or so and I fell
instantly into a deep sleep, not wanting to wake up for another
day of torment. What made matters worse was the cheek I had
given Dani the night before as he looked far from happy with me
today. I merely frowned at him as each cradle member departed
from the vehicle and strolled into the abandoned building ahead
of us. I was the last to leave the car and in doing so, I made
sure I dragged my feet just to piss him off that little bit
more. He noticed my stubborn attitude and stormed back to where
I was walking at a snails place, lifted me over his shoulder and
carried me inside. My screams of anger seemed to annoy him
further and he dug his finger ring into my back a little in an
attempt to shut me up. The guys were all having a nose around
the place with a cup of coffee in their hands. Sensing the
hilarity building up when they noticed Dani walk in with my over
his shoulder, I pouted and simply hung there, waiting to be let
down.
“Daniel Lloyd Davey! you put me down this instant or you will
regret having done it in the first place!” I yelled, struggling
to lift the back of his fishnet top.
He squirmed a little and I heard a low growl escape his mouth as
he dumped me down on the ground before him, on my feet of
course. I frowned as I looked up at him, unfortunately I was at
least an inch or two shorter than him, and that was saying
something. Perhaps I should play around with him today, it might
make him leave me alone and decide he doesn’t want me hanging
around as much as usual. A grin spread across my face and his
head tilted to one side.
“It seems that even though my stupid ass is short, I’m still
growing to new heights, unlike some people I know” I whispered,
though loud enough for him to hear every word.
His scowl was horribly frightening given the pathetic attempt he
had made this morning at darkening his lips with eyeliner
instead of lipstick. Dani smirked at the slight fear rising in
my eyes and took a step toward me, well aware that the guys were
watching and wolf whistles were beginning to echo off the stone
walls. I stepped back away from him as he got too close and
flicked his nose before running off to find space to lay out my
make up kit. I felt bad for leaving him standing there in front
of the guys after them thinking and hoping they’d get to see a
bit of smooching. Laughing at the thought and shaking off the
possibility that Dani might have actually tried to kiss me, I
began laying out the equipment across a small white and scarlet
coloured desk near a draped window.
“Ember, Dani is looking for you” said Paul as he walked up
behind me, almost giving me a heart attack as I hadn’t heard him
come in.
“Oh no, have I done something wrong?” I giggled, turning to face
him and gasping as I came face to face with Dani.
“Yes, you have” he whispered into my ear and pulled away, his
eyes boring into my soul and leaving me feeling vulnerable.
In the moments that passed as we stood facing one another and
staring blankly, a cough interrupted our trance. I sighed,
relieved that it was actually Paul this time and he seemed in
need of assistance from me. I happily left the room, leaving
Dani to his thoughts and watched with squinting eyes as I walked
out of the door how he seemed fascinated by every item I had out
on the desk. If I didn’t know him any better, I would easily
mistake him for a woman what with all the fiddling he was doing
with the different coloured palette’s and eyeliner pencils.

Oooh! You've intrigued me again with your writing! You can cut
the tension between these two with a knife and I adore it! Keep
going my dear! Love the pic to go with it as well! I'm not that
creative, haha.

I am soooooo happy you have interest in this story! I thought
I'd failed miserably to make it readable because it's difficult
to write about him. But, I'll be writing more soon and hopefully
things look up a bit :] about the image.. I had to adjust its
background because it was very grainy and I didn't like that
haha, so I coloured it black and added a few things.

I can imagine he would be hard to write about but I think you
just made Dani Flith fiction history. You're doing a fab job and
I can't wait for an update! I must say you're quite crafty with
the background. I've been monkeying with photobucket and I still
can't quite get a banner going haha.

Ooh thank you! he isn't too hard to write about actually, but
the last time I knew next to everything about him due to my
first obsession with him, it would have been a hell of a lot
easier. I'm trying though, and hopefully it turns out very well.
I still haven't added anything to it, but after my shower in a
little while I shall get right to it. Ah, I don't think my
photoshop skills are anything special, I sort of rushed through
that one just to hide its grainyness. If you'd like some help
with a banner I'd be happy to help :]

I went on my merry way, following Paul through quite a number of
rooms until he stopped right in front of a wardrobe. I was more
than a little confused because all of their clothing was still
in the truck outside. Cursing under my breath, I realised I
would have to venture outside later to retrieve them all. Laying
my hand on Paul’s shoulder to snap him out of his zombie mode, I
almost fell back on my ass when he spun around with his eyes
wide and mouth agape.
“Paul you idiot! what is wrong with you today?” I questioned,
still puzzled when he continued to stare at me as though I was
his dinner.
I didn’t get an answer from him, so I backed up slowly toward
the door whilst keeping an eye on him in case he went psycho.
Making a mental note to tell the rest of the band if such a
thing did happen, I turned on my heel and pegged it through the
empty rooms in search of Dani. Though he was in no mood to hear
any of my wild stories at the moment, it seemed a lot more
comforting than being stuck in a room with a crazy guitarist. My
breath vanished on me and my legs refused to keep up with the
pace at which I wanted to go. Looking around and seeing I was in
an even darker room that had drapes completely shielding it from
all forms of light, panic rose once again in my body. I did not
want to toy with the idea of waiting it out in such a
frightening room, alone and knowing that I couldn’t see a damn
thing, but I had no other choice. Closing the door over gently
so as not to attract Paul, I leaned my ear up against it and
listened. I couldn’t hear the sound of footsteps anymore, which
was of course good news. But, after a few minutes or so, I began
to feel like an absolute idiot for running away. The guys were
after all known for being jesters, even if it did seem a little
too real at first.
Scoffing at my own stupidity, I pulled open the door and walked
out with a grin on my face. I raised my voice to a level even I
wasn’t aware it had as I called out for him to come and get me.
I giggled, unable to control the thought of having run from one
of Dani’s good friends. It baffled me really, but there had been
something in Paul’s eyes that I hadn’t noticed before, something
that none of them ever donned whilst in their playful moods. I
shook it off, too worried to scare myself further and continued
on through the rooms until I spotted Dani talking to one of the
camera guys. I beamed, glad to finally see someone more or less
sane and raced over to him.
“Ember, where the hell have you been? it’s about time we got all
done up” he asked, eyeing me suspiciously as I clung tightly to
his arm.
As I looked up at him, I noticed he had already inserted his
ghostly white lenses. I jumped, not expecting it and he laughed
heartily. Giving him a hard stare before walking off, he tilted
his head a little after catching the worried look in my eyes.
Not wanting to bother with it all right now, I rushed off to
attend my make up and prepare it for the guys. Unfortunately for
me, it was always Paul who went first, but it was a struggle to
find him. I called on Dani and the boys to help and in a state
of panic, he came running over to my side.
“Hey, sorry about that. I got a little lost, shall we get
started then?” he said, smirking so only I could see.
I grinned back at him to let him know I was onto the game he was
trying to play, but the evil look in his eyes once we were out
of view disturbed me. Instead of pressing on the matter however,
I invited him to take a seat so I could begin applying his make
up. Paul gawked at me for a few moments longer and seemingly
snapped out of a trance, now looking up at me with a kind smile.
It was quite a rollercoaster of personalities with him lately. I
asked him to close his eyes over and he did so without
complaint. Perhaps his mood swings over the last few weeks were
nothing to dwell on as he seemed perfectly fine at the moment.
I spent no more than half an hour painting wandering branches
from one of his eyes and made sure he looked as pale as
possible. He also requested black lips and so I carefully
outlined his lips with lip liner before smudging on some black
lipstick. To finish, I straightened up his hair a little and
gave it a quick shake for effect. Paul glanced into the mirror
on the desk and smiled approvingly at my work, giving me a peck
on the cheek and making his way out of the room. I groaned and
scrubbed at the black mess now on my face as I waited to do up
the rest of the guys make up. After just two hours, everyone but
Dani was ready to start filming. Sighing, I followed the path
that Paul had issued as he walked out and went off in search of
my best friend. My only hope was that he was now in a better
mood and didn’t feel as though I was unhappy with him. In truth,
I had not been as upset over his movie as I was upset over how
much it frightened me. Realising that was the only reason I
snapped at him last night and told him in so many words that his
way of life was an absolute disgrace, I began to feel positively
awful.
Wanting nothing more than to go back to the hotel for the rest
of the day, I gathered my things and believed Dani could do his
own make up without making a complete mess of himself. He had
many times before, so it seemed okay to leave them all to do
their own thing for once. Even if he came storming back into the
hotel after a long hard day of shooting and proceeded to have a
go at me for leaving without a word spoken, I couldn’t be around
him for so many hours today. Making my way out of the building
unseen, my feet carried me forward through all kinds of alleys
on my route back to the hotel. I was thankful it was still
daylight. By no means was I a coward, but having such a heavy
bag over one of my shoulders and the thought of fighting off
random strangers who looked dangerous wasn’t too appealing.

Aww I'm sorry he's being so creepy haha. I'm glad that I can
make you feel as though you're in her shoes, that's made me
quite happy! I'm posting another image of Dani below for the
next bit as he's no longer wearing any make up.

If only Dani and I were on better terms with each other already,
it would make things so much easier.
I spotted the hotel just a few steps ahead and smiled having
made it without being stopped by anyone who might want more than
a friendly conversation. I wasn’t too much of a big talker
anyway, so to be stopped in the street or be given a reason to
talk with someone whom I did not know was unnerving. Racing on
and up the steps and stairs of the hotel until I reached my
suite seemed to take forever as I remembered how high up the
band wanted to stay. I pushed open the door with my behind given
that I had to cling to my bag of make up with both hands and
almost went toppling onto the floor. Thankfully, I caught myself
against the door handle, though it hurt a great deal when I
moved away from it.
Dropping my bag down on the nearest table, I wandered through to
the bathroom and took a much needed shower. Thinking about the
past week left me in shock upon noticing I hadn’t had time to
shower more than once and the boys must have found it
disgusting. I felt ashamed of myself, but knew that Dani was to
blame for all the extra hours he made me work. Whilst in the
shower and knowing there was no one around to hear me, I began
singing one of my favourite songs.
That’s when love walked in through my door
That familiar feeling I had once before
Love walked in through my door
And it felt so strange
I found a small radio after finishing up in the shower and
turned it on, switching immediately to one of the eighties
stations to prevent my ears from being raped by horrible music.
I beamed at the sound of Thunder and the song I had just been
singing as it blasted through the speakers. I danced around in
my towel to the music for a little while before deciding it was
too cold. Once in the bedroom, I rummaged through my wardrobe to
find clothes suitable for a relaxing day indoors. If Dani
thought for one minute he could drag me out again today, he
could forget it. My eyes landed on my favourite outfit, which
consisted of a mix and match that I’d grabbed from three
different stores last summer. I admired myself in the full
length mirror across the room and agreed that I didn’t look all
that bad after a good scrub. My leggings were a pale white with
a black cobweb design over my right thigh. The top I wore was
barely even a top and I was glad I wouldn’t be going anyway in
such attire. It was a white fishnet crop top, though it had long
sleeves and showed my black bra clear as day from underneath. I
didn’t care too much, only my eyes would be able to see me for
the rest of the day. Even though I wasn’t planning on going out
anywhere for the rest of the afternoon, I threw on my black and
white ballerina flats just in case.
After changing and returning to the main room, the song was
still playing to my delight, so I danced around the room a
little longer. I hadn’t heard the door open as I spun around
madly whilst holding a broom to my chest, imagining that it was
a microphone. A gentle cough interrupted my little daydream and
I fell against the table on which the radio sat, knocking it off
and watching it smash to pieces. Growling at the pain in my side
from falling and the mess which I’d have to clean up, I fixed my
gaze at whomever was bothering me. Thankfully it wasn’t Dani, I
couldn’t deal with him right now. God knows I’d only end up
shouting at him for causing such a scene.
It was the hotel manager. I panicked and quickly changed the
expression on my face before walking closer and asking as kindly
as possible what the problem was. The man didn’t seem too
annoyed by my little accident, but did mention that I had to pay
for a new radio before leaving. I groaned but knew I had no
other choice. Besides, it was only a small radio so it can’t be
too expensive. He looked at me, waiting for me to snap out of my
daze and proceeded to tell me I had a phone call. Thanking him,
I grabbed my bag with my purse tucked neatly inside and headed
on down the winding staircase behind him. He hadn’t mentioned
who was asking for me, but I prayed to god it wasn’t Dani or one
of the boys.
“Ember, just where did you think you were going? I’ve been
looking for you for almost three hours and the camera men are
less than impressed. Get your ass back down here now or I’ll
drag you back myself” Dani half yelled down the phone before
slamming it back in its holder.
I barely had chance to explain and it angered me. If he wanted
to ruin the rest of my life by throwing around orders whenever
he felt like it, he could take a hike. As much as I loved the
man, I hated being used as though I meant next to nothing to
him. To him, I wasn’t anything more than a toy who he called on
when he was in need. As his best friend, I figured I would have
been given a bigger role in his life, but now it was all
beginning to come out of hiding.

Ahh! Might I start off with I love Thunder and I love the song
Love Walked In! This makes me love the story even more, haha. I
just feel sort of bad for Ember having to put up with these dare
I saw fits of Dani's. The girl works her arse off and he doesn't
even say thank you to her. I just hope he wises up and treats
how she should be treated. Keep up the fab work my dear you've
got me on the edge of my seat for an update. :D

Woop! I'm glad you know the song :] I was hoping you would as
you like all the ballads. True indeed, he's a bit of an asshole
in this story and I hadn't planned on that, but it suits his
appearance an awful lot haha. I'm currently working on the next
bit as I type this :]
