What are you reading?

I thought this might be interesting. What are you reading or
would like to read at the moment? We've been having a bout of
crappy chilly weather around these parts and I found myself shut
up in the house more so I went down to the library and scrounged
around their discarded book room, I believe I've found some
literary gold, haha. I've just started the Wildacre trilogy by
Philippa Gregory and I must say it's brilliant! Really worth
giving a read, I wasn't sure how'd I enjoy them as they're not
my usual reading taste but I was pleasantly surprised. I've just
finished Demon Seed and The Taking by Dean Koontz and they were
wonderful. I'm horrible, I flip flop back and forth between
books at times. (Just like my phases with my favorite actors or
bands, haha.)

I can honestly say I have not heard of even one of the books you
mentioned there haha. I'll have to pop down to my local library
and have a nose to see if they have them in. I don't read much
of anything anymore unless it's online or the power goes out, at
which point I find a torch and snuggle up with a good book. I
lack story books though, most of the ones I own (aside from the
Anne Rice Chronicles) are celebrity biographies. Alas, my
favourite to read now and then is my Kurt Cobain Journal. I love
finding out new and interesting things about him and why he was
the way he was.

I've got a stack of biographies that I've yet to read perhaps
I'll give them a go, haha. I did read Nikki Sixx's biography
when it first came out and I was blown out of the water. Someone
recently gave me the "W.A.R. The Unauthorized Biograpghy of
William Axl Rose" I'm a little hestitant to read it, seeing the
man who wrote it had quote the falling out with our dear Axl
years and years ago. I'm a bit further into the Wildacre trilogy
and I dare it pushes the envelope just a bit and the main
character is a woman you just love to hate, haha. I'll have to
get my hands on a copy of the Kurt Cobain Journal, you've peaked
my interest!

I had a little trouble keeping one of my Kurt Cobain books in
one piece after learning its author was a horrible man. The same
man had written a lot of rubbish about Michael Jackson, so I
ended up dumping that book and keeping the cover and inside
pictures instead haha. I went on a reading spree when Michael
passed and bought at least five or six books about him, and
managed to read them all during that phase. I'm not too fond of
unauthorised bio's :/ I don't trust many people to be friendly
toward Axl. Someone always finds a way to get a few digs here
and there. I think I'll be giving Widacre a browse online to
read reviews and such. The Cobain Journal is fantastic :] it's
filled with random song lyrics, drawings, diary entries and
such.

Ahh, see now that's what I'm afraid of with this particular book
about Axl. I can't blame you one bit about keeping the cover and
inside pictures. You paid for the book might as well keep
something worth while even if the material covered is complete
crap. :D I'm commencing my hunt for the Cobain Journal as we
speak, haha. You''re making it sound better and better!

I say you read it and throw around a lot of curses if it's
anything horrible haha. Possibly tear it up also and do what I
did.. I felt so much better after destroying it for some reason,
even though they are only words on paper. I hope that you're
able to find the Cobain Journal and that you let me know what
you think of it once you've finally had a chance to read it :]

I've found a copy of the Cobain Journal! I've put in my order
and should have it within three to four weeks, talk about a back
order, haha. I've gone and cursed a blue streak at this
particular book about Axl. The author is so bitter at Axl's
talent and refuses to let anything go, talk about catty remarks
and speculations. I dare say I'll just keep the cover and frame
it with a matte around the author's name, haha.

Gosh that's quite a while to wait for a book! where did you
order it from? I think I picked mine up from one of the local
bookstores a few years ago. It was the only copy they had left
:] haha. Good idea! I don't blame you at all, what is on the
cover if I may ask?

I ordered mine through abebooks.com because Amazon didn't have
it in stock.
Here's a pic of the cover, now that I think about it you'd think
they could have gotten a better pic or a still shot, haha. I'm
by no means saying that this one is bad or anything but I dare
say the person that laid out the cover is telling dear Axl to
get bent.

I didn't think of it that way until you said it :D haha. I see
what you mean though, generally live snaps like that one don't
sell too well, but I suppose the huge font for his initials
helped a bit with that one. Still a lovely picture :] dun blame
you for wanting to keep it!
