* Ended up swapping out the FC, a second time no less, and the
name for this one. I've got enough Jack's in Col's life, ah.
image: just look up Grady Eklund from the Skin and Bones ep. of
Fear Itself. Minus the wendigo.
Full Name: Boaz 'Buddy' Bridger Hollis
DOB: May 4th
Nickname: Buddy by everyone. His mother once tried to call him
Beau and he refused to answer.
Hometown: Abilene Texas
Parents: Elmer Hollis and Virgilia Bridger-Hollis
Siblings: two younger sisters, Imogene and Frannie.
Nieces/Nephews: Combined with Colly's nine from her sisters he's
got six himself, three from each sister.
Current Home town: Trinity Texas
Significant Other: Colly Walker
Anniversary: July 2 { they were married in Franklin, Tennessee
during a lull on the rodeo circuit. They eventually settled
there for about four years }
Occupation: seasoned farmhand and rancher, former PBR buckle
winner for bronc riding. Former rodeo clown.
Stats:
Herbs: Chamomile
MBTI: INFP
Totem: Husky
BRAVE - ADVENTUROUS - LOYAL
The Husky spirit embodies spiritual well-being and resilience,
as well as the ability to survive and guide others. Husky
spirits work well with others and have great endurance in
extreme conditions. Huskies are athletic, loyal, and have
immense determination.
Hair: Sandy reddish brown
Eyes: Blue
Height: 6'3 1/2''
Weight: 145
Likes:
- Being out in the open air
- Fixing fence posts and getting the morning chores done and
sorted
- The first cup of coffee of the day ( nothing can beat
it...well except Col's cinnamon rolls )
- Being surrounded by friends and family
- The fact that he's literally the only person on the face of
the earth that can get away with calling his wife by her given
name, Ruth or Ruthie, and still live to tell the tale.
- He's quite taken with two stepping, to look at him you'd think
that he wouldn't be one to dance but he is but he's got a soft
spot for the country dances.
Dislikes:
- Negative/Pushy/Arrogant people
- Cell phones in restaurants and church ( if it's that
important take it outside. )
-Those that refuse to help others.
- Still can't stand the fact that he's still so self conscious
about his height even after all these years.
Most Embarrassing Moments:
Where oh where does this poor man even begin? Ah, yes, from the
very top.
- The day he was caught between the chute and the gate during
his first ever televised competition out in Reno. He ended up
breaking his leg in the process and half concussed as the bull
charged out taking him with it and throwing him around like a
dammit doll. It wouldn't have been so horrible had half of his
family back in Trinity not taped the fiasco.
- The day he proposed to Colly was hands down the most
terrifying moment of his life. He had saved up every single
penny he had earned over the course of his junior and senior
years of high school in addition to selling a few of his buckles
( all but the one he gave her and the one he was wearing) to get
her a ring, nothing but a diamond chip really set in a dainty
setting and he drove over to her parents' place and asked her as
she was hanging out the weekly wash. His heart stopped when she
said yes but what cemented it was the fact that her mother's dog
had managed to almost spoil the moment by hiking it's leg on him
while he was down on bended knee.
- The two bit character suit gig at a well known theme park in
Pigeon Forge. He took to wearing a cup and shinguards on a
regular basis because children don't react well to a towering
coal miner character with a goofy looking face while their
parents try to commemorate the visit with a picture.
- There was also the time he spent working as a sales associate
at Build-a-Teddy. He'll he overjoyed if he never has to stuff a
stuffed animal ever again. He did get one heck of an employee
discount so it saved them quite a bit during Christmas, Easter
and assorted birthdays with all of their nieces and nephews.
* more info in the works*

Oh! I am so sorry this one has taken me a couple days to respond
to.
I did find an app for checking the forum on my phone but it had
so many bugs I'm now going to have to leave viewing and
responding to laptop only. I'm able to view them on my phone for
all of five minutes before the browser crashes on me, which is
the same sort of response when I try to sign in and post as
well. I'll find a workaround for that as soon as I can so I'm
able to reply a lot faster than I seem to be lately.
I've been pairing Col off with Billy Butcherson for the last few
weeks now, but this is going to fast become another favourite,
just because it's Doug Jones; I ran a search for the character
and oh boy, there's one I need to give a watch because the
images I'm sure don't do the show much justice, but he looks
quite terrifying in the images google pulled up for that show. I
noticed a thread in the non-gary topics when I signed in before
and had a flick through the underrated actors post you made and
saw the clips you shared there so I'll give those a watch to get
more of an idea of his appearance.
I look forward to seeing more of him on tumblr, too. I noticed a
post in the fiction section so I'll be taking a look there as
well very soon, hopefully before I go to bed tonight! it seems
that with Doug Jones being so underrated and all, there's
probably not too much of him on tumblr as it is, so more content
must be added! :D it's great that people know of Billy, but it's
just as likely no one is aware of the actor himself, which is an
unfortunate case sometimes.

Don't you worry at all my dear! If it's the app for the forum
I'm thinking of I used to have it on my old iPod and it always
crashed on me no matter what I tried so I totally understand.
Aha! You've no idea how happy that makes me! I'm so glad you've
been pairing Col off with Billy Butcherson and I thank you for
it. I honestly find this particular ship of Colly / Buddy
endearing in it's simplicity/wholesomeness and devotion,
something the other pairings for her haven't had. I'm not sure
what it is but I'd like to think that You and your fellow helped
inspire them in a way, if you don't mind me saying.
I do have to say that that particular episode of Fear Itself
scared the ever loving crap out of me when I watched it. He
truly is an underrated actor ( and the series itself it
wonderfully chilling much like some of the old Outer Limits /
Masters of Horror eps. ) It also didn't help that I, being my
curios self ended up looking up just what a wendgio was.
Terrified myself.
I've had the time and a half trying to find photos of the poor
man without all the latex and foam pieces on but I'll keep
searching! It is, I mean he's a very gifted actor and it's a
real crying shame that he's yet to get the recognition for that
itself. I'd have to look through my bookmarks and see if I can
find his official website, he's got quite a bit of content on
there for most of what he's been in.

** Just thought I'd add on a few bits and pieces about Buddy &
Colly's life. I've not taken this sort of turn Child wise with
any of my muses before.**
Before I start this add on I'd like to give a tiny bit of back
story/inspiration: Every now and than a few of the children I
worked with back at the day care, well, one little girl in
particular, stands outing my mind. She was one of the sweetest
little things I've ever had the joy of knowing and helping. I
think she taught me so much more than I could ever teach her,
patience, kindness, compassion, I discovered I had deeper wells
of it. I was made all the better for having known her, for
having known all of them really, but her especially. Even if she
didn't have the words to convey what she felt ( she had Down
Syndrome and was only partially verbal and used signing to
communicate ) and I got a crash course in basic sign language
and body language reading. I know this may sound hokey and corny
so forgive me, but I truly believe the children I worked with
were gifts sent to teach me to be my best self, does that make
sense? The day I left she hugged me, she never ever did that
except that day any other day she would pat my hand or play with
my hair a bit but hugging just was not her thing. I just barely
kept it together until I went to get my bag and then I just
cried. I was touched and crushed to go. Anyway, little Abel
Hollis is an amalgam of all those children that endeared
themselves and helped shape me into my most compassionate self,
but with that little girl is his heart. I've never had a
pairing for Colleen that could stand up to the trials and
tribulations ( and utter joy ) of having something like this in
their plot lines until I paired her with Buddy.
Snippets & Bobs: The Smallest ( and most important ) Gift
- Buddy and Col had become a bit too comfortable in the fact
that perhaps having children wasn’t in their cards. They had a
million things they’d like to do and ample time to get it all
done. After all, it’s not like they were lacking for nieces,
nephews, and godchildren. That changed in the spring of of their
twentieth year together.
- Words like ‘advanced maternal / paternal age’, ‘ genetic
abnormalities’ , ‘amniocentesis’, and a myriad of other
things were thrown around at them after the pregnancy test came
back positive. In truth neither of them was truly that old but
given the statistics of it all they were both terrified.
- They didn't mention the testing Collywas scheduled to undergo
( and then ultimately backed out of ) Colly's best friend Helene
and all of their sisters knew but for some reason they couldn't
bring themselves to tell their parents as they were afraid they
would have gotten the 'this is what you get when you wait too
long' / reap what you sow speech. They both knew that they
couldn't handle that. They had been gifted the chance to have a
family and they would love the child no matter what, tests or no
tests.
- She was 35 and he was 37 by the time Colly’s baby shower
rolled around.
- They poured themselves over every parenting, birthing, and
name book the local bookstores had to offer. Most nights they
swapped books or read chapters aloud to each other and bemoaned
the fact that they both needed bifocals at this stage in their
life.
- Neither of them wanted to know what they were having and
settled on Abel Jacob for a boy and Faith Marie for a little
girl. The nursery was painted a light spring green since it was
neutral and welcoming.
- Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth proved to be quite worthwhile
and opened up Colly to the idea of an at home birth and use of a
Midwife Practitioner for her OBGYN care. Buddy, true to his
nature and dislike of change, had serious reservations.
- “What if the midwives don't get here in time?”
“Then we let nature take it’s course. You’ll just have to help
me.”
“Help you? I...wouldn’t Helene be better suited for that?”
“Oh c’mon, you’ve delivered calves..”
“Cows yes. You’re not a cow, Colly. I..I don’t think I could.”
“Look, if push comes to shove you’re helping. My due date’s
slated for the middle of February and according to the almanac
we’re supposed to get a heap of snow, if the midwives are held
up chances are the local EMS will be too. You put it there the
least you can do is catch it when it comes into the world, Boaz.
Am I clear?”
“Crystal, my darling bride.”
“Wonderful! Now, have you had a chance to go over to Quinlan’s
Hardware and pick up those paint samples I ordered last week?”
- Valentine’s Day, usually a day meant for couples and undying
sentiments of love held a new meaning for the Hollis’. Colly’s
waters broke just after she finished up the morning breakfast
dishes and Buddy headed out to start the day’s milking of the
herd. He panicked so badly he ended up running into a low
hanging beam and nearly knocking himself out. The midwife,
Helene, and Colly’s sisters were called. ( at that time MaryLou
was out in California and Sadie was out in Illinois so it meant
the world to Colly and Buddy to have Helene there with them. )
- Despite Buddy’s worries the midwife made it there in record
time. The birth went smoothly even if they thought for a minute
the baby shifted ( it hadn’t thankfully ) and five hours later
they were blessed with the sweetest little infant in Astwood
County.
- There was a moment when time seemed to stop. A blur of
movement as the snow fluttered outside the bedroom window as the
midwives consulted one another in hushed tones. A single crease
line on the baby’s palms raised a few suspicions; as did the
short neck, lack of muscle tone, and small ears. Colly and Buddy
didn’t care, one look into those beautiful tiny almond eyes and
they knew that this was the child they had been chosen for.
Blessed with. They named him Abel, just as they had promised and
took to calling him Abe for short. It proved to fit him as he
was more than able to do whatever he set out to do, sometimes in
his own way and with just the tiniest bit of help but he did it.
Sign language came in handy as verbal skills and walking took a
bit more time but he made great bounds in progress and was ever
ready with a heart meltingly warm smile.
- Two years later Abel became an incredibly proud big brother to
a baby sister named Faith, who while being born small and nearly
a week early, was just fine surrounded just as he had been by
their parents, Aunt Helene, and the midwives, Miss Lucille and
Miss Jenny.
