       Her Hearts Just Like Mine
   DIR By: Wolfy
       Date: April 25, 2012, 3:51 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
It seemed Axl was late picking her up once again as he was
everytime they arranged to go out together. Only this time it
was far more important as Connie had been nominated for an award
by her truest fans. A year ago today she published a work of
fiction entitled Eighties Wonderland and it became such a huge
hit with all ages. Astounded by the fame her book had, she
couldn’t believe it when informed she’d been nominated for an
award. In her wildest dreams she could never have imagined a
happier ending upon finishing the book as it had taken her
almost three years to perfect it. Unfortunately, her good friend
Axl was late as always in picking her up for certain events.
Usually she was able to make excuses for her late arrivals, but
not this time. This time wasn’t going to be all too pretty for
him either when she got her hands on him.
Connie had spent the entire evening getting herself ready and
had spent a colossal amount of money on a dress she would never
get to wear again. Angry would be too little a word to use in
describing her emotions at the moment. Completely and utterly
enraged is more suitable. How dare he be so selfish when tonight
was supposed to be the best night of her life. All she could
think about was beating the absolute crap out of him with words
when he decided to finally show up with another apology. Too
many times she had given in to his striking green eyes whenever
he would look at her in the hopes that she would forgive him. It
wasn’t going to happen like that this time because he had ruined
her chances for the last time, something had to be done. They
were practically best friends and yet here he was treating her
       as though she didn’t matter.
A quiet knock on the door startled her as she stood leaning
against it waiting for him to show up. With anger boiling
through her veins, she spun around and pulled it open, ready to
give him an earful of grief. When their eyes met she could see
that he didn’t realise or even care that he was late and it
tugged at her tear ducts for the last time.
“How dare you have the audacity to show up here after making me
wait almost two hours for you to finish up whatever you were
doing” she spat at him as her eyes glared into his.
“Do you have any idea how important tonight was supposed to be
for me? Yet here you are late as usual and you don’t seem to
have a care in the world” she added.
“Before you start giving me another lecture can you at least let
me in so I can explain to you why I’m late” Axl spoke softly as
       though to calm her down.
“Why should I let you in after making me wait hours just so I
could get to do something important with my life!” she screamed
before grabbing the door and slamming it shut.
Connie hadn’t been quick enough in her effort to shut the door
so he couldn’t walk in as he jammed his foot in the door frame
to prevent her from doing so. With wide eyes, she tried with all
her might to close the door over but knew in her head she was
nowhere near as strong as him. After a few moments of fighting
to close the door, she sighed in defeat and stepped aside to
allow him into her apartment. Axl grinned from ear to ear
knowing he would always get his own way and strolled into the
place as though he owned it. In truth he did own half of it
seeing as they had tried living together at one point, but they
realised it wasn’t going to work out due to the temper he and
Connie both had. Taking a seat on her plush buttercream coloured
sofa his eyes glanced around the room in search of anything
       interesting.
“How late did you say I am?” he questioned as his eyes finally
rested on her as she stood directly over him with the same glare
       lingering in her gaze.
“Almost two hours. Did you honestly think you would be forgiven
this time? This isn’t just some random party Axl, this is a
landmark in my career as a writer!” she said with a raised voice
as the calm and collected mood he was in angered her further.
“Hey now! I think I have the right to at least give you a reason
as to why I’m late and then you can judge whether or not it’s
good enough” he retorted as his eyes grew darker than she had
       ever seen them before.
Connie let out a long sigh as she sat beside him on the sofa
with her eyes glued to a wall on the other side of the room. Her
patience was wearing thin with this man and it would only be a
matter of time before their friendship ended. Even though they
both had a short temper and often blew up on one another, they
still had their moments. Those moments when everything was
peaceful and it seemed like they were the best of friends.
Thanks to Axl’s constant aggressive demeanour they hadn’t been
all that close lately. It did sadden her when she pondered on
the thought a little longer than usual, but it was impossible to
change him. It had been tried once before but it only backfired.
As she kept her eyes on the wall in front of where they sat, she
dared herself to look at him but knew deep down that his eyes
would make her give in all too soon. When Axl noticed her
refusal to look at him whilst he was about to speak to her, it
ticked him off and he would have raised his voice but chose
otherwise. Laying his hand gently on her thigh immediately
gained her attention as her head snapped to the side and their
eyes connected once again and she was captured.
“Damn you Axl Rose” she said breathlessly as his eyes held hers
due to the intense green colour they portrayed. “Why must you
always soften my mood with those eyes of yours, you know very
well I have the right to be annoyed with you” she finished,
managing to tear her eyes away from his.
“Connie, I was late this time because the guys and I went out
shopping for something that is very important and..” was all Axl
managed to get out before she jumped in.
“Hang on one moment Mr.Rose. You’re telling me that I missed the
award ceremony just because you and the guys wanted to go on a
nice little shopping spree! Do you even have any idea what time
it is!?” she screamed at him and grew red in the face with
       anger.
“Jesus Connie! Will you give a guy a break, you didn’t even let
me finish explaining the reason why shopping made me late” he
responded, returning the glare she had given him earlier on when
       he arrived.
Unfortunately for Axl, she wasn’t going to bow down to his
excuses so easily. Rising from her place on the sofa and
flailing her arms around like an idiot, she started cursing him
for ruining her entire evening and possibly the rest of her
life. Who on earth would go shopping at such a late hour anyway?
It just didn’t make any sense in her head and from now on she
wasn’t going to put up with anymore of his crap. Connie stormed
over to the door and opened it wide, asking him with a raised
and shaken voice to leave her home before she made him leave.
“Get out. Don’t bother coming back here again, I’m done with you
now. I can’t take any of your shit anymore Axl” she said after
       she’d calmed a little.
       “But Connie I..” he replied.
“I want you out Axl! Get out” she said more loudly, holding the
       door open.
Without another word and evidence of shock written all over his
face, Axl stood from the sofa and stormed over to the door as
she had done but he stopped an inch away from her face. Connie
did not back off as she usually did when he seemed annoyed by
her, she just stood her ground and stared right back at him.
“What do you want William? I told you to leave” she spoke
threateningly, hoping to have him leave after realising he had
       outstayed his welcome.
Without a second thought he slammed the door shut, grabbed
Connie and threw her up against the wall behind her, holding her
arms so she couldn’t escape him. Axl made sure there was no real
fear present on her face given his reaction and after spotting
something more in her eyes as his mouth lingered close to hers,
he wondered what she was thinking. Before he realised what he
was doing, he was kissing her feverishly as though he would
never have the chance to see her again and maybe after this he
wouldn’t. The one thing that came as a shock to him was when she
started to kiss him back. Her hands reached up and tangled
themselves in his strawberry blonde hair and his now lay gently
       on her hips.
Pulling away from their kiss, he said “Connie, that is part of
the reason why I was late this evening”.
Blinking and confused, Connie tilted her head to one side and
questioned what on earth he was talking about. “What do you mean
       Axl?”.
Her breath caught in her throat as Axl got down on one knee and
slid his hand into the back pocket of his torn blue jeans. With
glistening eyes, she raised her hand up to cover her mouth as
she let out a squeak of happiness and surprise all in one.
Connie never had him down as the romantic and never in a million
years would she have believed he would do something like this.
Axl raised his head to look into her eyes and smiled warmly
after noticing the tears that were about to fall down her
cheeks. He opened up the velvet box in his hand to reveal a
beautiful diamond ring that could easily outshine the sun.
“Connie, Will you marry me?” he spoke softly as he took the ring
out and grabbed her hand, sliding it easily onto her finger.
“Yes!!” she almost shouted as she tackled him to the ground,
kissing him all over his face as he giggled at her enthusiasm.
“Axl, I’m really sorry I accused you of being arrogant and
uncaring. I honestly believed you just didn’t think I was worth
any of it” she said quietly, wiping a few tears away.
Axl held Connie tightly in his arms and whispered into her ear
“Since I met you all those years ago I’ve been madly in love
with you. It’s just taken me this long to admit that is exactly
what I was feeling. You’ll have to forgive me”.
“Of course I forgive you! I love you too Axl” she replied as she
stared up into amazing green eyes that were filled with nothing
but love and adoration for the woman he held tightly in his
       arms.
       End

Ahh! Loved this! You've described our dear Mr. Rose to the tee.
I shed a tear of joy for the prospective married couple. I've
been toying with the idea of writing an Axl/GNR fic to take a
break from the current Jackie one (still working on it, don't
worry :) ) but I wasn't sure where I would post it on here,
       haha. Very well done ;D

Do you think so? :] I tried to avoid all the bull people think
about him, this is my interpretation of how he really is; the
side that people rarely get chance to see which is unfortunate.
I do see him in this way, and he appears so much better for it.
I wish I could get everyone to read it and hopefully understand
that maybe, just maybe, this is the real Axl Rose. I definitely
think this is him. I'm so happy you liked it too! I was worried
you might not agree with his personality through this haha. I
hope you do start on an Axl or GnR fic :] I would love very much
to read it! browsing through fictio sites isn't fun when no one
seems to write anything about that band.

I whole heartledy think so! I quite like this side of our dear
Axl, you showed him as a human being, not the moody diva that
most people think of him as. I'm forming some ideas for mine so
we'll have to see where it goes, haha. Perhaps it'll be a "What
if" type of scenario if the band didn't make it so big around
the world and I'm so glad you're looking forward to reading it,
you've made my day! Ugh, I know! Half of those fiction sites get
your hopes and then *poof* nothing. I don't know about you but
that just dashes my hopes, haha.

I love that you think I was able to portray him as such! that is
exactly how others should portray him. Just because he loses
control over a few idiots now and again doesn't mean he's a bad
guy. It's all the attention, all the focus being on and around
him is not fair. Tis no wonder he snaps as much as he does. It's
always on him as well, rarely ever on the ex guns members, so
they make him look like the bad guy. People say Guns N Roses are
nothing without Slash, but Axl is the voice of GnR so.. Ooh
goody! :D now I really can't wait to read it, that sounds like
it'd be fun to read. Aye, I was having a look around on fiction
sites last night for a few about Dani but they had none, ended
up reading rubbish on Quizilla :/

I dare say I'd love to see the people that proclaim Mr. Rose a
monster walk a mile in his shoes, they'd be snapping too, haha.
I also like to see the looks on people's faces when they're
given the straight instrumental versions of each Guns N Roses
album without the vocals and just the guitars and drums. I feel
that they'd change their tune very quickly :D Oh what a horrid
night that must have been! You got your hopes up for something
and then had to go over that that...I don't even know what to
call that site anymore, haha. It used to be quite the place in
it's hay day, and now it's just utter muck. *sighs* My
lightbulbs are slowing starting to pick up more and more ideas
so I'll keep you posted, I've got a free weekend and I feel that
perhaps I'll be putting it use spinning some Axl Rose fiction
       for you to enjoy. ;D

Couldn't agree more :] people judge others far too easily. I
agree with that too! and I only just imagined what that would
sound like haha. I love the music of course, but only when it
comes with Axl's vocals. I'm not too fond of really heavy stuff,
and whilst Guns aren't entirely heavy, the music alone would be.
I don't mean to sound horrible about the fiction on Quizilla,
but it's generally all the younger ones who post their work on
there, so it's not the kind of thing I like to read. I probably
sound like a right snob saying that.. but I prefer more adult
fiction if you know what I mean by that. I had a few ideas last
night for a Dani story and got started on it, but I was too
tired to keep it going so I'll have to add more to it today :]
and that sounds good! I hope that you're able to put your ideas
together for a story soon :D

You most certainly don't sound like a snob at all, so don't
worry! I've noticed the work going down hill as the younger ones
post their work and it just seems to go against what the more
serious writers are trying to do. I totally get what you're
saying by prefering more adult works, I'm right along with you
on that one. :D Woohoo! to the ideas! I'll be here awaiting the
post. I'm jotting down plot points and such for mine, just have
to tweak it tad more and then I'll get to writing. My muse is

I just felt quite bad wording it as I did. It's not that their
work is terrible, it's just not the kind of thing I enjoy
reading. I tend to prefer the more heavy and hands on stories
about these men we love so much haha. I noticed you commented on
the Dani story, I shall read it and respond in a moment, but I
do hope that you enjoyed it. I'm going to be writing more at
some point over the next hour or two if I don't fall asleep

I only wish mine would quit running off at the last moment haha.
