Sirius Black: I don't know why it's taken me six years to notice
that there are many Oldman films missing from this section of
the forum, but I have also now found it impossible to notice
that and not add in this gentleman somewhere. I think, nowhere
online, have I ever pointed out which of movie of his I actually
got to see first, but it was The Fifth Element ( to note: this
doesn't really begin a lifelong fascination because no one likes
zorg really ), but with that being my first introduction to the
incredible talent that he is, his name popping up as a
familiarity years later midway through the Potter movies, caught
my attention. I think it was because of Sirius, that I became a
fan in the first place. This was only in 2004 so not a terribly
long time ago compared to prior movies of his that I now love
also, namely Bram Stoker's Dracula, State Of Grace and The
       Scarlet Letter.
I like to imagine that even without my love for the Potter
franchise, I would have been introduced to Oldman one way or
another, be it many years down the line or even sooner perhaps,
but it was around that time. As with the Lord of the Rings
franchise that I watched in the cinema upon each release, I did
the same with Harry Potter and it wasn't until the third movie
that I accidentally on purpose tripped head over heels for
Black. I recall being terrified of him in Azkaban, until we
learn that he's actually not a murderer, of course. Even though
Vlad is now and will forever by my favourite of his portrayals,
I remain loyal to Sirius, because this was the character that
started the whole love affair for me.
