       The man is deserving of his own thread on this board, so I have
       created one today. I am so upset with the news we have just been
       given and I was so reluctant to believe it because I had
       absolutely no idea he was ill. I turned BBC news on about half
       an hour ago and they confirmed that he has passed away from
       cancer, age 69. I am numb to emotion at the moment, but will be
       paying tribute to this wonderful man tonight, with every film I
       have of his. I know how you feel about Alan and would like for
       you to know that I am here for you, to talk to, to ramble to,
       anything you like —— always.

       I can't tell you how much this thread means to me right now.
       Thank you just doesn't seem to cover it at the moment. I want
       you to know that I'm here for you as well my dear. *hugs* Sadly
       over here in the US his passing hasn't gotten much coverage just
       a blip on the news that was about it. ( honestly makes me ill
       just thinking about it - American news coverage for something
       like this is ass backwards. ) He was an icon and he will be
       missed very very much.  Snape as well as his other characters
       will live on - always.
