Relatable Lyrics

This thread will be open permanently for members to post lyrics
whenever they wish. If you stumble across a song that you can
relate to, please give a sample of the lyrics and explain why
you relate to them.

The above verse is one of the only verses in every song I know,
that I can fully relate to. The reason being.. everything good
that happens in my life is soon followed by something
negative/something that ruins the good. This has happened
repeatedly and I am still waiting for the day when I can have
something good without awaiting something bad.

This one of the songs that when I first heard I went "Holy crap,
were they spying on me or something?!" It's very true, my
parents are very distant toward me, I know they love me but they
just don't show it well I'm afraid. I've been in relationships
that the poor man I was with couldn't understand why I kept
shying away from affection I feel I'm conditioned not to show
how I truly feel, I want to but I'm afraid of being rebuffed.
I'm still wishing and hoping for my "pilot" to show up. I've
gotten better about expressing how I feel I think it's just
going to take time.

I absolutely adore that song, Savage Garden are brilliant. I'm
so sorry to hear that you and your parents aren't as close as
you would like to be. I won't ask too many questions because
it's not my place to do so, but I do hope that one day things
change for the better. I also hope that you are able to overcome
the problem you have in relationships. I did the exact same
thing a while back, but I don't do it anymore. I'm just at war
with myself I think, never have been completely okay with being
who I am and I'm not sure why. I'm learning to come away from
that now though, I hope you find the strength to come away from
your troubles too :]

Aww, thank you my dear. My confidence just got a little boost
from your post. :) I think my parents ages' play a part on how
they are. My Dad's 71 and my Mum's 58 so that could very well
having something to do with, either way they're my parents.
Hopefully things work out in time, they usually do I think I
need to open myself up a little more when it comes to
relationships. I've got a horrible habit of bottling things up,
ended up with the ulcer to prove it, haha. Sometimes it takes
time to completely accept yourself for who you are, you'll get
there, I promise. By the way, if you ever need me when things
get you down I'm here. :)

I'm so happy it did! and you are very welcome. That could be a
factor, but it shouldn't. Either way, I'm sorry to hear about
those problems and only hope it changes for the better. The age
gap between parents can sometimes be problematic, and
unfortunately sometimes their child or children are left to deal
with the outcome. Aye, it will be difficult to open up a little
more after so long of being closed off from things like that,
but I'm sure you'll manage when you meet the right guy. I tend
to keep a lot of things to myself as well, but when I met my
fiance it changed dramatically. I think it might have been
because we were best friends first. Thank you :] and ditto, I'll
be here when needed :)
