Paranormal Experiences

I hope this topic won't be of any bother; not everyone is a fan
of ghostly goings on or the like, but this is one of my
favourite sites to read through if ever I have little else to
keep me occupied. I've considered sharing a few of mine before,
but haven't quite decided yet. There are many that keep me up at
night or really get me thinking about how very real these
happenings are. If anyone is interested in this subject, I have
linked to the stories below!

It's no bother at all! This is actually a very interesting topic
to me as well, I've had two experiences and they've both scared
me witless. Ooh, it's nice to know that I'm not alone on this,
if you ever decide to share I'm all ears my dear. I've gone
ahead and bookmarked the website for future reading. Thanks so
much! :-D

I think a lot of people on that site.. the one's who respond to
the stories, talk a load of rubbish sometimes. They seem to
pamper the person sharing their story and not really help an
awful lot. They're just "Oh poor you. I feel bad but I don't
know what to suggest."
That's keeping me from typing up my own experiences, so maybe
one day I'll share them on here instead :]

I haven't quite waded through some of replies on the site but I
sincerely wish I could smack some of those people. (I'm a horrid
person) Please by all mean share away! I'd gladly share mine
sometime if you like. :)

I thought I'd share my latest encounter of the paranormal kind
with you.
Not sure if I've told you this but for some reason my mother
enjoys collecting wind chimes, now usually you hang them around
outside, right? Nope, not my mother. Mom insists on hanging them
from a joining beam that runs the ceiling length between the
living room and the dining room/kitchen. (I believe this stems
from when we had a few hanging around outside when we first
moved here and had them go missing the following week only to
turn up hanging around a neighbor's front garden but I digress.)
Anyway, the night after my Gran passed away I was in the back
bedroom because my room was down right frigid (colder than
normal actually and maybe that was a sign, not sure.) so I
figured I'd just sleep where it's warmer. I had gotten ready for
bed and was preparing to do some writing when I heard all three
chimes start up, like someone had given them a good smacking
around back and forth. For a second I thought that maybe just
maybe it was one of the cats or something jumping up at them but
I did a head count to see all the animals were in with me, the
three cats curled up sound asleep on the foot of the bed and
dogs laying around on the floor. Then it hit me, I was home all
alone and there's no way anyone could be out there hitting them
around, the house was locked up tight and they're just too damn
high up. There's also no draft where they are so, against my
better judgement I went out to take a look. (pretty sure I was a
cat in my former life or something because curiosity always gets
the better of me.) I turned on the nearest light to see them
swaying back and forth, the hair on the back of my neck stood up
and I just stood there for a second, almost doubting my sanity.
I asked if it was Gran and the chime furthest from me started
clanging again. I got a familiar smell of her favorite soap and
fresh baked bread and as quick as everything happened it was
over. I was both unnerved and fascinated all at the same time,
I've had other little experiences but that trumped them all.

I envy those of us who can see/hear things like this. As much as
I love everything about the paranormal, I've never actually had
anything visible happen in front of me before. I've felt things
and heard things, but never actually seen anything, which is a
huge shame. It's a discussion I have with my mum now and again,
when she tells me of things she's heard during the night and the
eyes she will sometimes see in front of her face just as she's
drifting off to sleep. I mention that having them appear would
be quite lovely, but she doesn't necessarily agree and I think
most people would feel the same as she does. I would have loved
to have that happen to me :] we haven't had wind chimes in or
around our house for years but it's definitely something a
spirit would be attracted to. Remind me to buy a chime at some
point — maybe it will encourage a bit of activity around here. I
haven't felt anything in a long time, so it's a bit dull and
depressing.

When I actually saw it I would have gladly traded places with
you, my dear. I think the scents I ended up smelling were her
way of telling me it was her and to calm down. This was a first
for me, I've been touched by things in the past but that's
another story. I'm sure it'll happen to you, but certainly
invest in a chime, I've also heard they like bells as well. My
Gran swore by them and my aunt kept them up in the house "just
in case her Bobby wanted to talk to her." I believe my aunt
still has them up for that reason. Oh my, eyes?! I'd be wide
awake if they happened to me, totally unable to move but wide
awake. I'm sure they'll come back, I've heard that during the
season change they're said to be more active. Or perhaps try
Novena candles to attract positive spirits. Good luck my dear!
:D
