Lili; a 23 year old currently studying to complete a degree in
Botany has been given the opportunity to branch out from her
University so she may study for a brief period under the
watchful eye of Mr Harrison. Given that George has such an
extensive area of land to work with, Friar Park was most suited
toward helping her achieve her goals. Will she impress him - or
will her skills not be up to par? Only time will tell of the
roads these two find themselves travelling; and the new lease of
life it offers in return.

Lili approached the rather large mansion with only one thing in
mind; to prove that she is worthy of receiving a degree in her
chosen subject. Not a great many her age would opt for something
so trying, but she had no doubts it would take her far in life.
There was always a spot of gardening that had to be done, so she
would never be short of work. No matter the trials within her
life that were likely to bring her down often, gardening would
always be there to break her fall and stop her from sinking
deeper into unknown territory. Thus far, her world had proven a
lot less challenging than she would have imagined, but there was
always room for matters of reality to change when you least
expected it. And she had been awaiting that day for a very long
time; it had yet to make itself known. Perhaps for the next few
years at least, it would allow her to live her life in a way she
wanted, as opposed to what others wanted of her. Living by
someone else’s rules was never an appealing thing, but most were
unfortunate in their ventures to escape that kind of path.
Over one shoulder, she carried a heavy looking and low hanging
bag, containing all the necessary equipment for a spot of
gardening. Though she was only going to be within Friar Park for
a few months, she appeared to have packed for a few years
instead. A slight chuckle rose in her throat as she leaned back
against the solid gates to catch her breath. There had been no
hill leading up to the home itself, but her bus had broken down
near enough a few miles away and with little money to pay for a
taxi, walking the rest of the way had been the only option. Now
tired and worn down, she hoped Mr. Harrison would be kind enough
to let her recuperate with a cup of coffee before getting to
work. Heaving a sigh, she pushed herself back off of the gate
and located a nearby buzzer. Unsure of what to expect, she
pressed the button marked Front Gate and waited patiently. There
were more than a dozen buttons on that thing; it was quite a
sight to see, until a loud buzz made her squeal and jump back.
With her hand over her heart, simply shocked to the core at such
a loud sound, she held her head high and walked on through as
the gates parted slightly, allowing entrance.
Well, that was perhaps a little odd. Normally, the person who
owned the home would request details on whoever wished to enter,
rather than letting them inside immediately. Perhaps he had been
expecting her, which was very likely given how late she was
already. It was approaching mid-afternoon already and she knew
it was because she’d had to walk a fair distance. Maybe
hitchhiking would have gotten her here a little sooner; on time,
as she should have been. But no, she was just under three hours
late and he was bound to be irritated. To dwell on such matters,
though, was not an ideal solution and she deduced he would not
waste any amount of time reprimanding her on such slackness. As
she tread over the salmon coloured gravel beneath her wellington
boots, careful not to kick any out of place and leave a naked
patch of soil, a smile graced her lips. These were perfect
conditions for her to begin work and if he would allow her to do
so, she would very much like to give the stones a good once over
with a hose, as well. They appeared neat and tidy as the sky had
already darkened a fair bit, but by break of day, she figured
they would have collected specks of dust and dirt.
Just up ahead, where the gravel coated ground met the steps
leading up to his front door, said door opened to reveal a
friendly looking man; her employer. For the time being, she
would be doing exactly as he asked and not putting a foot out of
line if she wished to do well. Lili devised many weeks ago that
this opportunity was something she’d never even consider ruining
and so, knew it would be a smooth run. Only a select few times
had her superiors chided her for work that needed improving, yet
even then, she knew exactly what had to be done and would in a
short amount of time, resolve any problems. For someone like
Mr.Harrison, she would be on her best behaviour and strive to be
the best gardener she could when in his presence, for he himself
was incredibly knowledgeable on that particular subject so would
know immediately if she had done something wrong.
“Welcome, love. You’re a little late, but that’s of no
importance. I can see you’ve come well equipped; a lot of
dedication there,” he smiled warmly, retreating down the steps
to meet me halfway as he unhooked my bag and tossed it over his
own shoulder.
“Oh.. thank you, it was beginning to weigh me down for a moment
there,” she responded, a soft chuckle passing through her lips
as she was relieved of the heavy load. “I apologise for arriving
so late, Mr. Harrison.. I had to walk the last few miles.”
Lili glanced over toward her employer for the first time, having
only ever seen him in media form before and realised then and
there, he was stunning. Media materials made him look a very
handsome man indeed, but reality was so much more complimentary
of his beautiful features, not to mention those locks. His hair
was of a similar shade to her own, but far neater and looked
much more alive. What she would give to have strands so well
cared for and vibrant in colour. His face was somewhat pale, but
she put that down to being stuck within the shade whenever he
dropped into his garden every once in a while to work on things.
It was an easy mistake to make, though she much preferred the
cool temperature when it came to working hard outdoors as well.
Being away from the suns scorching heat was a breath of fresh
air; so to speak. And in that moment, she had great admiration
for him.
“So.. Mr. Harrison,” she began, only to find herself cut off
mid-sentence when he turned to her and grinned.
“Please, love. Call me George.. I feel like an old man
otherwise” he chuckled, carrying on up the porch and pushing the
door open further so she could step into his home.
A bashful smile spread over her lips at his words and she nodded
weakly in response, fearing that words would now fail her. The
sky was really beginning to darken now, but under the moonlight
made gardening much more beautiful. She would have to ask, of
course. Irritating him further was not something she wished to
divulge in. And as he lead her through the wide hallway and into
a room on the far left, her worries ceased to exist. It looked
awfully inviting and when he asked her to make herself at home,
she knew not to panic further. Feeling a bit rude, however, she
took the bag from his shoulder and set it down on a nearby chair
before returning to his side. Coughing gently to clear the frog
in her throat, she extended her hand toward him and smiled; a
genuine smile, without much difficulty.
“Lili Elsen,” she spoke, the smile not once leaving her face as
he sprung his own hand forward to capture hers, shaking it
gently before raising it and placing a gentle kiss on the back.
“Pleasure, love. I’m George Harrison” he joked, tossing a wink
her way and keeping a firm grip on her hand for a few minutes in
case she tried to shyly pull away from him.
And that was exactly something she longed to do, to hide the
redness of her usually pale cheeks, feeling a little embarrassed
by the entire situation. Prior to this particular day, she had
herself believing she’d be as cool as a cucumber around the man,
no matter who he was, nor how distracting his looks would be,
yet here she was all doe-eyed. No doubt, he thought of her as
just another crazy fan, though a little more on the quiet side;
a lot like himself actually. It was something he could relate to
and so, the chatter between them both should be fairly simple
and flow with ease, or so he hoped. Trying to pry words out of
the young woman, whilst it sounded fun, was incredibly tiring.
He hoped she would not be too silent.
“So, you bear the name of my favourite flower; that is an
interesting factor” he spoke up, hoping to encourage a brief
amount of chatter as she walked away and took a seat.
Following suit, he took a seat in the chair opposite her and
smiled warmly. If a smile did not ease all her previous worries,
he didn’t know what would and given that she already seemed to
be a lovely lady, he didn’t wish to frighten her even the
smallest amount.
“Oh.. yes, I suppose I do” she replied, making a mental note to
remember his favourite flower, should she come across them
whilst working away on his garden. Of course, she had known a
fair bit about him prior to her arrival. In fact, she had known
enough for many years, being a huge fan and all. The Beatles
were incredible, but George on his own was even more wonderful
and she found his solo work to be the best of the lot. Now and
again, she would play a track of two of his and wind up lost in
her own little world; captivated by his voice, almost in a
trance of sorts. Perhaps that was the same effect that chanting
had on him. That was something else she made a note of. Wanting
to ask him about his chosen religion had always been of a
fascination and so, she decided to get to it right away.
“George.. um, can you tell me a little bit about Hinduism?” she
asked, brushing aside a loose strand of hair as it fell about
her face.
A bright smile appeared on the mans lips at such a request and
in that moment, she knew she would have no trouble in asking him
to delve into similar discussions from now on. Why had she been
so fearful or broaching a topic like that? Religion was a bitter
subject for many, but if two people were fond of one in
particular and happened to agree on its practices, there was no
real harm in having a conversation about everything involved.
And with not knowing too much about it; only wanting to garner a
bit more information, she felt that asking would keep him both
happy and occupied whilst she admired him from the short
distance currently between the two. A few minutes was not
enough. She longed to memorise every inch of his face so that
when he was not within sight, she could paint that picture
inside her head.
“Well, there’s a lot to say really. Is there anything in
particular you’re interested in finding out about, love?” he
questioned, scratching the top of his head as he thought a
moment.
“Oh, er.. how about meditation? I understand you do an awful lot
of that and I was wondering.. how do you feel afterwards?” she
asked, a small smile passing over her lips.

to the front gates like that, damn public transit. ;) I do
believe you'd made me fall for dear George here my dear. Keep up
the wonderful work! I've got to know George's answer and what
Lili plans for Friar Park! *hugs* ;D
