In Memoriam ( for beloved music artists/actors that have gone
too soon)

Forgive me for starting such a thread but I thought it was only
right that we have a place to memorialize the artists/actors
that we love that have gone from this world too soon. I hope you
don't mind me starting off by posting about Steve Clark from Def
Leppard. He's one of my favorite guitarists and quite possibly
my favorite member of the band even though he's gone. I know I
must be so odd for that. I've watched old interviews that have
featured him and found him to be a quiet, gentle sort of person,
although a tiny bit troubled but one hell of an artist. I know
I'll be marking this January 8th the same way I've done for many
years, by lighting a memorial candle for him and saying a
prayer. (Feel free to think of me as daft for doing so for
someone I never even knew.)

Don't ever feel bad for creating threads like this; I am always
thankful for them. It's lovely to remember all those who are no
longer here and were once (and still are) such amazing people.
They deserve all the attention they receive, so don't worry at
all. I like that you've chosen Steve to start this thread :) my
favourite band member is Rick Savage. I think that stemmed from
obsessively watching the video for Pour Some Sugar On Me once
upon a time, haha. I kinda fell in love with the fact that he
reminded me of Joey Tempest, who is another rock that I adore.
I don't find you weird or odd or anything for doing that on the
anniversary of his death <3 I once did that for Michael Jackson
and Kurt Cobain. In fact, I think I still do for Kurt.. not sure
why I stopped doing that for Michael. It really is a nice thing
to do and you shouldn't feel strange over it :)

Oh thank you my dear! Big sigh of relief over that one, aww
Rick's adorable in his own right so good on ya! Hey, damn good
video to watch over and over in my opinion. Ahh, you're right he
does remind a person of the lovely Mr. Tempest. I think it's
wonderful that I'm not along in the lighting of the candles for
both Kurt and Michael. Hmm, I used to light one for Bon Scott
but he fizzled out. Maybe it was Michael's way of telling you
that he's in a better place? Either way you're a wonderful
person for remembering them both :)

You shouldn't feel bad at all over lighting candles for those
who aren't here anymore :) it's a beautiful thing to do. Not
many do it though so that's most likely why it seems a little
odd to us, haha. I think it's special, and there's always a
strong sense of them being there when the candles are lit.. if
you can understand that. I don't know if it's because our focus
is solely on them, or something else, but everytime I do it..
that's how it feels. Like there is another presence in the room.
Now I sound deluded! haha.

Oh you most certainly do not my dear! I totally get what you're
saying though :) I dare say we're a rare breed. It's like
they're with you as long as those candles are lit. I also do it
for my grandfather and sister-in-law. I've recently thought
about switching over to those battery operated candles just for
safety but I've yet to find a set that I actually like.

Thank you very much! :) we definitely are a very rare breed. And
I'm thankful that you understand what I was trying to say, haha.
I do hope it made more sense than it seemed to. I'll no doubt
end up looking for some battery operated candles myself soon
actually; seems a very good idea!

I know I'm a day early on this but I thought it was only right
to post about River seeing as his birthday's tomorrow. I know
I've already got a few of his movies set by the tv for tomorrow
night to enjoy. I sometimes wonder what he would have done as he
got older. Would he have left Hollywood for good? Would he have
had a family? He was a beautiful soul and I know how much he
means to you and I thought it was only right to honor him. :)
So, Happy Birthday in Heaven, Mr. Phoenix.

You are a beautiful soul, Magz. I would not have thought to do
this and I'm so happy you've mentioned it. I love that graphic
you've created and it will be saved to my wallpaper folder for
safe keeping. I've a few of his films myself and will no doubt
be starting tomorrow night with Stand By Me and ending it with
my favourite, The Thing Called Love. Thank you again for
mentioning him :]

Oh it was nothing really, I just thought he should be
remembered, especially on his birthday. :) I actually felt quite
bad about putting that end date on there though. Perhaps I
should have left it with the infinity symbol? Either way, I'm
very very happy that you like the graphic my dear. Ahh, see
we're flip flopped on the movies though. Enjoy them and send a
pleasant thought on up to River, I know he'd appreciate it. :)
