A little torn at the moment when it comes to naming the new
character. I've got a few choices for first and last and would
love some input. A few of these are from my own family tree ages
ago so please pardon the weirdness.

Just a little blurb post about wording and accents in writing.
Now, I usually try to go with my gut instinct on words other
times it's crap tons of research and youtube viewing for accent
instructors. I really hate to bug you but would you mind if
every once in a while I asked advice for a few common sayings or
words from your lovely country? I mean my BritBox subscription
only goes so far and I really really don't want to offend you or
anything else reading my current fic. I mean there are
differences from UK to American English ( and honestly I think
yours is much easier when it comes to spellings and wordings on
things) although I will admit that asking someone for a rubber
over here has a totally different meaning. ;) I mean Cage has an
accent when divulging things but I want to make sure I get his
voice right. Colleen's a bit easier at times ( unless she's
overwhelmed ) I'll gladly return the favor if you ever need it (
not that you will because you're about 10000 times smarter and
wittier than I am ) I send you many many thanks and as much love
as you can handle my dear.

Ooh, this is my favourite subject to discuss, actually. I have
always had meltdowns over correct typing of accents when writing
and it continues to be a problem no matter how hard I try to
learn certain things. My biggest hiccup has always been with
Emlyn and though I know well enough the pronunciation of certain
words, it's still always complex trying to achieve exactly what
you hear, when you're writing it in story form. There are some
issues I'm running into with Joey as well, but that has an easy
escape route and if I wanted to exaggerate his accent when he's
speaking English, I'd need a lot of pauses and odd
pronunciations of some words — but I'm unwilling to do that too
heavily because my writing partners struggle to follow ;
especially those who already have problems understanding broken
English. You are, of course, always welcome to ask me if you
have any trouble, and I will certainly pop over for some advice
when I struggle, too ! it's a challenge, but I think between
American and English spellings and pronunciation, things can
sometimes get a bit muddled.
