Edit to include the summary - This one features Jackie Flannery,
and one of my own creations, Bobbie Noonan. She is Terry’s baby
sister and very much a fireball. Her personality is identical to
but clashes constantly with Jackie’s. Both are highly abrasive
toward each other. If angering Bobbie is on your agenda, duck
and cover for a nuclear explosion. In any case, the two that
loathe each others guts call a truce when they discover their
       innermost desires.

Ahh! I can't wait for this to start! You've drawn me and I'd
love to see how these two got on :) I can't wait! I do indeed
       like her style very much!

Thank you! I'm pleased to know you're looking forward to it. I
love her style too. It's a shame about Polyvore, being able to
create all these lovely outfits and knowing you just couldn't
afford even one item on the list, haha. I try not to look at the
prices though, but they are ridiculous for half the things you
find on there. I'm going to my nearest city tomorrow just to
collect Rosary Beads, thought I'd throw that in there. Mother
keeps asking me why I want them, as I am not Catholic, and I'm
all 'well, Jackie Flannery was buried with them you see' .. and
yes, I am that sad xD haha.

Oh I know, damn that Polyvore! Oh don't feel bad at all my dear,
I collect them myself (along with crucifixes, haha) and many
religions use them. I'd gladly send you a set if you like. My
Gran used to make them with her ladies church auxilory years ago
before her hands were affected by arthritis. There's nothing
wrong with having something that's beautiful and functional all
in one. Bonus points if it reminds you of dear Jackie :D

I sometimes glance at the prices of items I'm putting together
and my mouth just drops open cause it's insane, haha. The only
religious item I have is an ankh around my neck, which used to
be my other halfs but he wanted me to have it. For some reason,
even though they may clash as it's going to be Catholic verses
Christian around my neck, I find them both beautiful and
meaningful. I just love the idea of them :] and they are really
special, especially when they remind me of Jackie! haha. I
realise that sounds terrible and is probably no reason to get
some, but I'm really falling hard for that character right now.

I feel bad for making this so short, but unless I can come up
with a round two, this will be the whole story, haha. Either
way, I hope it's not too terrible xD
After putting a few pints of Black and Tan into the fridge for
cooling, I heard the honk of someone’s car horn just outside.
Jumping up, I almost bumped into the table in the middle of the
room as I glanced out the window to see Terry climbing out of
his car. My heart raced at the thought of not seeing him for
almost six months after moving away for work. Now though, after
losing my job to an angry and uncalled for outburst over a
customer who refused to pay for their food, I was back in Hell’s
Kitchen. If I had been given a choice, I would have stayed far
away from this place, but I missed my older brother too much.
I checked myself over in the mirror in the hall and ran over to
the door like a small child ready to greet their parents. My
face fell into a grimace as Jackie Flannery walked in sheepishly
behind Terry, a smug look on his face. I’d hoped to spend this
holiday season bonding over memories with my brother, but there
was no chance of that now. Despite the unwelcome visitor, I was
going to make sure this Christmas was the best it had ever been,
even if I hated half the company.
“Well don’t look too pleased to see me babe” Jackie said,
opening his arms for a hug.
I scoffed in response to his gesture and slammed the door closed
before shoving him into the living room. It took only seconds
for him to start asking where the beers were, and if my brother
hadn’t been sitting on the sofa with a happy smile as he looked
at me, I’d have punched Jackie square in the face.
“Terry, do you want a beer while I’m in the kitchen?” I asked,
knowing already what his answer would be.
He simply grinned and tossed a small nod my way, joining in as I
began to laugh knowingly. Jackie soon joined in too, though I
merely scowled at him from the doorway. I passed Terry his mix
and kissed his forehead in my oh so feminine manner. As I
approached Jackie who was seated in my favourite chair on the
other side of the table, he craned his head up a little to my
level as though he deserved a kiss as well. Again, I scoffed at
the amount of audacity he had in him. He feigned sorrow as I
smacked him upside the head and took a seat beside Terry. As I
sunk down into the sofa and nuzzled his shirt to inhale that
infamous scent he always had, he asked me a rather strange
question. At first, I thought he was joking, and even though it
was Christmas Eve and presents were a normal thing, I hadn’t
       bought him anything.
“Oh god, Terry. Why didn’t you tell me you were buying gifts? I
would have gotten you something if I had known, you idiot” I
       said, smacking his arm lightly.
Terry only laughed at my antics and placed a kiss on my
forehead, as I had done to him before. I smiled, despite the
fact that I was feeling horribly guilty over not buying him a
present. What a wonderful sister I turned out to be.
“Well, would you like your gift now or tomorrow?” Terry asked.
“Hm, you know me dear brother. I never could wait all night to
open my presents” I said, grinning.
Terry placed down his Black and Tan before standing and walking
toward an open bag sitting beside the door. I was curious as to
what might be inside, and when he pulled out a rather adorable
looking onesie with a leopard print design, I jumped from the
sofa and pounced into his arms. His reaction almost sent us both
tumbling to the ground, but he quickly steadied his feet and
caught me, returning the death grip I’d put him in. As I clung
to him and thanked him over and over again for the beautiful
gift, I made a promise that before Christmas was over, I would
       buy him something special.
“Anyone want anything to eat? I put together an Irish Trifle
earlier and it’s just gonna go to waste otherwise” I said,
       hopeful that someone was hungry.
For some reason, the thoughtful gift from Terry had eased my
mood a little, and Jackie was no longer as bothersome as usual.
Perhaps that had a lot to do with the fact that he had been
fairly quiet for the better half of an hour. Something was
either on his mind, or he had forgotten how to talk after having
a pint or two. The latter could not possibly be true, for he was
used to drinking himself under the table and then walking in a
straight line for every copper who pulled him over after a night
       out.
In unison, both men hollered a yes at me as though they hadn’t
eaten for months. I giggled to myself as I sped into the kitchen
to feed them a bowl each of the delicious looking dessert. As I
had just finished dumping a spoonful of trifle into the last
bowl, I heard someone enter the kitchen and turn out the light.
“Hey, whoever just came in here, turn the light back on. I might
have bunny vision, but it isn’t what it used to be” I said,
       jokingly.
After receiving no response, I turned around and went to switch
it back on myself when it flickered on. I might have known it
was Jackie who had pulled such a boyish prank. As I stared at
him and waited for him to say something, assuming he had wanted
to speak with me or help with carrying the desserts back, he
rummaged through his jacket pocket. My eyebrows furrowed as I
watched him, a cheesy grin plastered on his devilishly handsome
face. He would never know I thought such a thing however.
“Jackie, what on earth are you doing? Is your pocket really that
       big?” I asked, laughing lightly.
His expression turned serious as he seemed to have captured what
he was searching for. I gulped in wonder as he took small steps
toward me. As my back was now up against the counter, I couldn’t
really go any further, but didn’t need to when he stopped a few
inches away. He held out his hand between us both, which was now
in the shape of a fist, his palm facing the floor. Whatever he
had in his hand was obviously something that would change the
atmosphere dramatically, or else he would not be hiding it.
“What is it, Jackie?” I asked, reaching out my own hand beneath
       his.
I closed my eyes at his request and felt the item drop into my
waiting hand. My eyes remained closed as I allowed the fallen
item to lay peacefully in my palm. I was too frightened to take
a look, knowing instantly that it was a piece of jewellery. A
piece of jewellery that took the form of a ring. It took all my
strength to open my eyes to gaze at its wonder, and when I did,
I knew how awkward this would be.
“Oh, Jackie. This is an engagement ring…” I mumbled, grabbing
his hand and giving it back.
“What are you doing? I spent two months rent on this ring, and
you’re turning me down?” he said, a look of pure agony on his
       face.
Never in a million years would I have thought he’d ask me to
marry him. I wouldn’t have believed it either, for we both
seemed to dislike each other a lot. Of course, I found him quite
attractive, and he had made it known some time ago that he
thought the same of me, but any of time saw us tearing each
other apart with words and the occasional fisticuffs session. I
stared at the ring as he let it sit in the palm of his hand,
which was once again thrust toward me. His eyes were begging me
silently to accept his proposal, but I knew deep down that he
wasn’t the kind of man I wanted to spend my life with. Jackie
had a ****-poor reputation when it came to women and there was
no doubt in my mind that our marriage would end in divorce after
finding him sleeping with a neighbour or **** of some sort. I’d
known this about him for a long time, and made up my mind the
first day I was introduced to him, curtsey of Terry.
“Jackie, I’m sorry” I said, pushing by him and running into my
       bedroom.
A bewildered Terry rose from the sofa and tried in vain to reach
my door in time before I slammed and locked it in his face. I
felt awful and there was no way I could face either of them now,
at least for a while. I would have blamed Jackie for ruining
this Christmas had I not known it was my own fault.
I listened in on the conversation as I sat with my legs pulled
up against my chest against the door. From the sound of it,
Terry was having a good old go at Jackie for upsetting me, and
calling him for everything because he knew how stupid an idea
his best friend had brought upon us both. In a way I felt bad
for letting Terry rip Jackie like that, but there was no chance
I’d be leaving my room until I knew for sure I could look Jackie
in the eye without feeling an overwhelming sense of grief.
After a good half hour, the sound of Frankie Goes To Hollywood
played softly on my radio in the living room. Their smashing
Christmas hit always sent me over the edge, with its powerful
lyrics and meaningful rhythm. I knew it was Terry who had turned
the volume up, in an attempt to encourage me away from my hiding
place. It took me long enough, but when I finally emerged, he
pulled me into an embrace and whispered soothingly into my ear.
He questioned the sanity of his friend and as I looked around
the room, I realised Jackie was no longer here.
“Terry, where is he? I need to apologise” I asked, pulling away
       and wiping my tearstained face.
“He went out, probably to Old Town Bar or something. Anyway, I
gave him a good telling off so you don’t need to worry about it
anymore. Boy, you should have seen the state he was in when he
left” Terry said, an amused look on his face.
For the first time in my life, I felt pity for my brother. How
he could have been stupid enough to let Jackie go out wandering
the streets of Hell’s Kitchen in a dazed and angry state was
beyond me. I pulled him up over his choices and immediately he
realised what he had done. We both looked at one another before
reaching for our jackets and sped out of the apartment building.
I looked over at Terry as we jumped into his car and began to
cry again for no real reason. Deep down though, my heart was
screaming out to me that yes should have been the only word out
of my mouth in regard to Jackie’s unspoken question earlier.
Now, he was only putting himself in danger either by drinking
until his stomach exploded, or stumbling around the dark alleys
with nothing but his uncertain state of mind to pass judgement
       is approached by thugs.
Jackie could easily take care of himself, but there had been
times when his emotions got the better of certain situations he
found himself in, and they had been the times he’d ended up
behind bars or in hospital. I panicked severely as Terry pulled
up outside Old Town Bar. I had reached the doors before Terry
even had chance to open the door for me, and when he followed me
into the pub and spotted me frantically pacing back and forth
beside the booths, he knew something was up.
“Terry, he’s not here, where else would he go? Come on, we have
to find him” I yelled, my speech faster than an asteroid heading
       for earth.
“Shh, Bobbie, it’s alright, we’ll find him” he said, grabbing me
and holding me until I calmed down.
“God damn it all, I don’t even like the guy and yet I feel as
though my heart is breaking” I mumbled, sobbing into my brothers
       shirt.
As my head was buried in his chest, I failed to see the knowing
grin on his face. It had disappeared when I looked up at him and
wiped my face dry once more. Grabbing my hand in his, he pulled
me outside and we walked down the street toward the local
church. I questioned him as we stood outside.
“Jackie, believe it or not, is quite the religious type. You
should have seen the state of him when Stevie died two years
ago” Terry said, a look of sadness crossing his eyes at the
       memory.
I squeezed his hand in mine and managed a small smile before
racing into the building ahead of him. Terry was following close
behind as I kept running toward the alter. I spotted the
lounging figure of Jackie as he sat on the stairs directly in
front of St Christopher. In one hand he held a beer, which had
clearly turned him into a very different person. And in the
other hand he clung tightly to his rosary beads, muttering a
prayer I had never even heard before. As I sat beside him on the
stairs, out of view, Terry approached and sat on one of the
benches with his head in his hands. I looked over at him and
noticed the tears in his eyes. After putting two and two
together, I came to the conclusion that this is exactly how he
had found him after the death of their friend. It saddened me
even more to think I’d made such an impact.
Reaching my hand out, I lay it gently on his shoulder and gasped
when he turned his body around quite quickly. He pulled my hand
from his shoulder and held it against his heart. Tears swam in
my eyes as I felt the rapid beating against my palm. He held it
there for a while, looking directly into my eyes and not
       shifting his gaze for anything.
“Jackie, I’m so sorry” I said, raising my hand and laying it
       across his cheek.
“Don’t be, why would anyone wanna marry me anyway?” he asked,
though I found it to be more of a statement he believed was
       true.
“Hey, that’s not true at all. I could think of plenty of reasons
why people would want you as a husband. Jackie, don’t you know
by now that you’re wonderful? You are, you might be reckless
from time to time, but you have so much going for you babe” I
said, brushing strands of hair from his face.
My cheeks flushed when I remembered Terry was not too far away,
and as I glanced over at him, the knowing grin I’d missed before
was evident now. I bowed my head and tried desperately not to
smile at making such a fool out of myself in front of my
       brother.
“Do you mean that, Bobbie?” Jackie asked, catching my hand in
his as I pulled it away.
He kissed the tips of my fingers with his eyes closed, savouring
the moment. My mouth hung open in shock at what he had so
bravely done in front of a man who might kick his ass for
touching his little sister, but Terry didn’t seem to mind. I
watched him leave the church from the corner of my eye, and knew
that once he was out of earshot, Jackie would fully tell me how
he was feeling. And, I could do the same without my brother
listening to my every confession about his best friend.
Jackie stood from the stairs with surprising stability, pulling
me up with him. He had set the bottle of beer down beside his
feet and now held both my hands in his. I looked up at him now
with a genuine smile on my lips, which he returned with a boyish
       grin.
“Jackie, are you gonna be alright?” I asked, but he quickly
       shushed me.
I frowned up at him as he did so, but faltered when he lowered
himself and got down on one knee before me. I squealed
involuntarily which attracted Terry’s attention. Watching as he
ran back inside and took a seat up front with the familiar face
of Kathleen by his side, both Jackie and myself beamed. I gave a
small wave to Kathleen, having not seen her in six months
       either.
My breath caught in my throat when Jackie recovered the ring
from his jacket pocket. As I looked at it once more, I had
chance to examine it more closely. It had a beautiful snow white
birthstone in place of a traditional diamond, which I absolutely
       adored.
“Jackie, it’s beautiful” I said, allowing him to slip it onto my
       finger.
Like a child who had been given his gifts from Santa Claus a day
early, Jackie bared his teeth with a smile and lifted me into
his arms with his own wrapped around my waist. He spun me in a
small circle as I laughed and flung my arms out as though
flying. Cheers of joy erupted from the two present members
seated at the front of the church, and when my eyes met with my
brothers, a tear fell down his cheek. From this moment on,
everything would be different, especially with an Irishman in
       the family.

Oh. My. God! Where do I begin?! This was wonderful! I love the
way Bobbie and Jackie fit together like that and the fact that!
Bobbie's ring is beautiful and you made me all teary eyed. :D I
also love how you've written Terry, I could only wish I could
keep him within character like that. This is sheer brilliance my
dear, keep up the wonderful wonderful work! :D
