BF2 Fixing Problems!
By: crazyetxjew Date: August 22, 2017, 1:38 pm

Posting to help out people that play BF2 & on our server! only
problem iv seemed to get fixed thus far with out from
PvTStandAlone over at revive forums
First problem you have your video/Graphics settings on high,
load to a server or single player map does the Optimizing
Shaders play afew rounds than log off for the day than next day
it redoes it for no reason? & when it does the graphics look to
be below lowest settings just total crap looking even though
they are set to highest level in the ingame settings?
PvTstandAlone told me this workaround/fix
Goto C:\Users\(username)\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001 (
0001 is the folder you use to log in & play on server with )
set all files within the folder to read only! by pressing Ctrt
+ a right click a file select Properties & click read only apply
to all files, DO NOT set folder to read only
Another is to delete everything in cache folder, launch BF2 &
let BF2 redo the shaders, once in server/single player close the
game and goto
C:\Users\(user name)\Documents\Battlefield 2\mod\bf2\cahce open
the folder with random numbers & letters, select everything
within right click & choose properties & click read only & apply
to all files ( not the folder just files with in ) the game
should now only load insted of redoing shaders from time to time
More fix as they come in from me & Standalone. Time to kill
these old BF2 bugs!
