I know I haven't been playing because of the unresolved ping/lag
issues (only in BF2 oddly enough). Will the servers keep
running and just see a drop in player activity?

Yeah thats what i wanna know aswell... i was just ingame playing
but will the servers still be playable? and will they keep
showing ingame?
Its sad to see revive go. but hell they need to work something
out with ea or ea needs to make a work around them selfs to
atleast make it that so they servers do show up atleast.

I always wondered when EA Games were going to contact them and
demand they halt distribution.
EA Games still charges for BF2. Other companies still charge for
BF2 that resell it for EA/Dice. Revive took the game and gave it
out for free. Generated illegal keys for BF2 that was downloaded
from the Revive site. So in hind site, they were engaged in
illegal software piracy in theory.
Sp now EA legal has come knocking. Fairly loudly from what I can
see. Enough so they took down the forums and all download links
or mention of any downloads. We'll have to wait and see what
happens. I doubt seriously Revive will be allowed to resume
unless the start charging for BF2 / legal keys distributed / and
EA/Dice sent their fair share.
This is why I've always used my original legal BF2 key.

All I can say is that it does not look good folks. EA came with
the hammer and Spencer RIP'd it today..

Well i still have my original cd key from years and years ago
when i got the game from Ebgames or gamestop ( or some darn
where ) so i paid for the game and could change the cd key but
should i before EA/DICE ban my darn IP or what. and isnt there
away to change the key with out having to uninstall the game?
just wondering.

BATTLEFIELD 2 GUIDE
Click Start.
Go to Run.
Type regedit and hit OK button.
Click on plus sign next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
Click on plus sign next to SOFTWARE.
Double click on Electronic Arts folder.
Double click on EA Games folder.
Double click on Battlefield 2 folder.
Double click on ergc folder.
Data displayed will probably have x9392 only.
Right click on it and select Modify.
Type in x9392 and then your CD key.
note: don’t include hyphens.
Example: x9392(your Battlefield 2 CD key here)

Well that was fast :) thank you, i knew there was away but
couldnt think of it, i thought it was in the folder where it was
installed but just looked and didnt see anything, but i gotta go
and find my cd key its in storage outside. but its dark now :(
