Fate Characters
By: nitrox116 Date: April 25, 2015, 8:21 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
After Sanctum started and I became interested in the Fate
series, I decided to try to codify some of the Heroic Spirit
ideas we've been throwing around.
Muramasa
HTML http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muramasa
Credit to Zen for original concept
Berserker (Alt: Saber, Assassin, Caster)
Stats:
Strength B
Endurance C
Agility C
Mana D
Luck E
Skills:
Item Construction (C): Can create swords of various types, each
with the same effect as his Noble Phantasm. This means that he
can re-create his first Noble Phantasm if it breaks.
Mad Enhancement (E+): Mental capacity of a child, prone to bouts
of violence. Rank up to Strength.
Innocent Monster (B): Servant's appearance and skills are
determined based on the bad reputation surrounding him in life.
Uncrowned Arms Mastership (D): Despite being known as a
swordsmith and not a swordsman in life, Muramasa has the
competency of a mid-to-high-level swordsman.
Noble Phantasms:
Muramasa Blade (Anti-Unit, C)
Every blade made by the swordsmith Muramasa is this Noble
Phantasm, though he only wields one at a time. It is normally a
samurai sword fully coated in a layer of dried blood. When
activated, the blade becomes clean once more, and any blood that
comes into contact with it is absorbed. After activation, these
blades possess a special property: every strike made by them,
whether at an opponent or into empty air, must draw blood. This
allows for enhanced accuracy, and since the blade will continue
its strike until it draws blood, an increased capability to
pierce through defenses. However, this comes at a cost: if the
blade judges it easier to strike Muramasa himself (or his
master) rather than the target, it will turn on its owner.
Matsudaira Geki (Anti-Unit, B)
Matsudaira Geki was a swordsman whose potential accomplishments
were subsumed by his use of a Muramasa blade to kill three of
his rivals in cold blood. Muramasa, being linked to his blades,
thus has the ability to summon Matsudaira Geki for a period of
about fifteen minutes as a botched Heroic Spirit. Geki
possesses no official class or Noble Phantasm (besides his own
Muramasa blade), but he is a much more competent swordsman than
Muramasa. Geki is unflinching against attacks, and will simply
continue attacking until he runs out of prana or dies.

Discernment of the Poor (A): Can see through the opponent's
character and attribute.
Eye of the Mind True (B): Possesses a heightened capacity for
observation, refined through experience.
Librarian of Stored Knowledge (B): Can clearly recall knowledge

Noble Phantasms:
Background Check (Anti-Unit Self, C)
Enables Nitrox to look at any object or person and immediately
discern their strengths, weaknesses, abilities, true name and
just general information about them.
Rationality (Anti-Army, B)
Everyone within a certain radius of Nitrox becomes more rational
and thus more willing to sit down with him and have a reasonable
conversation where they both exit in a better position.

Berserker (Believes he is a Saber) (alt: Caster)
Stats:
Strength A
Endurance C
Agility B
Mana A
Luck D
Skills:
Mad Enhancement*: B. Rank up for all parameters, but takes away
most of sanity.
Presence Concealment: C: Hides one's presence as a Servant.
Suitable for spying. The rank of presence concealment drops
considerably when preparing to attack. However, this condition
does not apply to poisoning something.
Noble Phantasms:
The Force (Anti-Army, C): An invisible aura that surrounds
Berserker wherever he goes, which he cam manipulate in a form of
telekinesis.
Lightsaber (Anti-Unit, B): A strange blade made of pure light.
Can cut any normal object.
* Berserker believes himself to be the war's Saber-Class
servant, a holy warrior trained in the ways of the force.
However, if he were ever to somehow discover his true identity,
his sanity would be brutally purged from his mind and he would
undergo a horrible activation of his Mad Enhancement. When this
is over with, his mind would be clouded with rage and no longer
able to think like any normal human being- but the dark side of
the force would make him incredibly powerful.

Mirror
HTML http://gamestarforum.createaforum.com/role-playing/uncontrollable-(a-fantasy-roleplay)/?message=2259
Caster (Alt: Assassin)
Stats:
Strength C
Endurance B
Agility B
Mana A
Luck B
Skills:
1) Presence Concealment (A): Possesses the capacity to hide
one's presence as a Servant, and her presence overall. Suitable
for spying. The rank of presence concealment drops when
preparing to attack. However, this condition does not apply to
poisoning something.
2) Territory Creation (B): Has the skill to build a special
terrain that is advantageous to herself.
3) Riding (D): Has the expertise to ride animals and vehicles.
4) Animal Dialogue (B): Allows Mirror to communicate with
animals.
5) Collector (B): Has the 'talent' to collect high quality goods
and a 'luck' that draws rare items into the possession of
Mirror.
Noble Phantasms:
Doppelganger (A)
Mirror can become a doppelganger of anybody by coming in contact
with them or landing a harsh blow. This includes duplicating
appearance and powers. If she duplicates an opponent's powers,
her own are dramatically decreased until she stops duplicating
the powers.
Regeneration (B)
This allows Mirror to create a doppelganger of herself. If she
is killed in battle, she will regenerate as her doppelganger,
with her stats decreased by one rank. If she dies in
doppelganger form, she's finished. If she survives the battle,
she will revert back to her original form, partially healed.
Rebound Spell (C)
This can only be used twice in a battle. Basically, it sends the
opponent's attack back at the attacker.

God
HTML http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God
Berserker (Alt: Assassin, Caster)
Stats:
Strength EX
Endurance EX
Agility EX
Mana EX
Luck EX
Skills:
1) Mad Enhancement (A): Raises basic parameters in exchange of
hindering mental capacities.
2) Charisma (A): Has the natural talent to command an army.
3) Golden Rule (A): Can measure one's fortune to acquire wealth.
4) Golden Fleece (E): The Golden Fleece is a very valuable item.
It can summon a dragon when utilized properly.
Noble Phantasms:
Omnipotence (A)
This attack is extremely powerful and can only be used once
every battle. When in use, God will become more insane then a
Berserker and more powerful then ever. While attacking, other
attacks will be halted. When God strikes the target, the target
will suffer severe drain, bringing their skills, stats and
phantasms down to a minimal and making them completely useless
in battle. After God uses this phantasm, no other attack can be
used (except basic strikes) and God's abilities will also be
decreased to a minimal, but God will be much more useful then
the target. When this attack is used, God's master will lose a
massive amount of mana. If used on more then one target (max is
2), God will die.
Muramasa Blade (C)
Every blade made by the swordsmith Muramasa is this Noble
Phantasm, though he only wields one at a time. It is normally a
samurai sword fully coated in a layer of dried blood. When
activated, the blade becomes clean once more, and any blood that

whether at an opponent or into empty air, must draw blood. This
allows for enhanced accuracy, and since the blade will continue
its strike until it draws blood, an increased capability to

blade judges it easier to strike God himself (or his master)
rather than the target, it will turn on its owner.

SCIENTIFIC SPIRITS
Collaboration between M2 and Nitrox
We all know who the REAL heroes (and villains) of history are.
The scientists! The Fate/stay night class system may not work
super well with scientists, but here's the best shot M2 and I
made at making it work:
Henry Bessemer
HTML https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0a/Henry_Bessemer02.jpg
Saber of Science
Saber was an English engineer who created a revolutionary
steel-making process that allowed large-scale construction
projects involving steel to be performed. He embodies the
spirit, not only of large-scale production, but of technological
superiority, echoing historical accounts of those with more
advanced weapons trouncing those without. He is a balding man
dressed in a suit, wielding an austere steel sword.
Strength: B
Endurance: B
Agility: A
Mana: C
Luck: A
Skills:
Magic Resistance (D): As a member of the Saber class, Saber can
cancel all basic spells.
Item Construction (C): Saber, who created a revolutionary
steel-making process, can summon any object made of steel. The
total volume of all summoned objects cannot exceed two cubic
meters.
Golden Rule (B): As one of the few engineers to profit off of
his inventions, Saber possesses large sums of money, enough to
pay for any reasonable purchase.
Noble Phantasms:
Iron Ager (Anti-Unit, B)
The simple, relatively short sword Saber possesses does not in
any sense appear to be a powerful Noble Phantasm, as it lacks
any design, unique structure, or historical basis. However, it
represents the technological superiority of iron and steel
weapons as compared to earlier once, and the ease with which
nations wielding iron or steel weapons defeated weaker ones.
Saber can charge this sword with mana, making it glow a dull
red. In this state, the sword will permanently destroy any
physical Noble Phantasm below its rank that it comes into
contact with.
Bessemer Process (Anti-World, B+)
A Noble Phantasm similar to a Reality Marble that breaks the
limit on Saber's Item Construction skill, allowing him to
near-instantly create steel structures of any size, even those
that have non-steel components. This includes bridges,
railroads, and various kinds of weaponry. After the Noble
Phantasm wears off, all items created via this process will
fade.

Benjamin Franklin
HTML https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/5f/Benjamin_West%2C_English_%28born_America%29_-_Benjamin_Franklin_Drawing_Electricity_from_the_Sky_-_Google_Art_Project.jpg
Lancer of Science
A scientist and politician, and one of the Founding Fathers of
the United States (sometimes referred to as "The First
American"), Lancer is remembered in this setting for his
experiments with electricity. He is most famous for his kite
experiment, where he proved that lightning was composed of
electricity. He is armed with a lightning rod, one of his
inventions.
Strength: D
Endurance: A
Agility: C
Mana: B
Luck: A
Skills:
Magic Resistance (A): His Noble Phantasm Lightning Rod negates
and absorbs almost all non-physical magecraft.
Independent Action (D): Lancer resisted the political pressure
of his time and was an outspoken abolitionist despite the
majority of Americans holding pro-slavery views. While he is
usually loyal to morally good or neutral Masters, he will resist
commands and even Command Seals (to an extent) that command him
to do things beneath his moral character.
Charisma (C-): Lancer was a respected political leader, and was
often thought of as a voice of reason; therefore, his
suggestions are likely to be listened to, and he is likely to be
respected as an authority figure.
Magecraft (D): Lancer is capable of using all spells involving
electricity and lightning, although no others.
Pioneer of the Stars (EX): Lancer's scientific and political
actions brought massive change throughout the world, helping to
form a new nation and a new, revolutionary energy source. For
him, goals usually considered impossible can be realized.
Noble Phantasms:
Lightning Rod (Anti-Unit/Anti-Army, B+):
Lancer invented the Lightning Rod, a tool used to draw in
potentially dangerous lightning and allow it to dissipate
safely. It is his main weapon in battle, and while it is not
particularly powerful alone, it draws in virtually all magic in
the area, regardless of target, which it can then release in
electrical blasts. The only magic spells immune to it are those
that immediately apply an effect to the caster (such as
strength-enhancing spells) and spells that summon corporeal
objects or entities.
Electrical Kite (Anti-Army, B-):
Lancer was famous for his experiment where he held a key
attached to a kite during a lightning storm, waited for a bolt
of lightning to strike the kite, and collected the electricity
in the key. Lancer throws his Lightning Rod into the air, which
leaves behind a thin trail of lightning. After a few seconds,
it then fires straight down, creating a massive electrical storm
in the area surrounding Lancer. While the Lightning Rod is in
the air, though, Lancer is left vulnerable to magical
attack.

Archimedes
HTML https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e7/Domenico-Fetti_Archimedes_1620.jpg
Caster of Science
Caster was a Greek mathematician and inventor, considered to be
one of the greatest mathematicians of all time. Besides his
numerous mathematical discoveries, he is known for creating
defensive war machines intended to protect the city of Syracuse
from invasion. He was killed by an invading Roman soldier
against orders, but was remembered by future scientists and
mathematicians for millennia as an ideal to aspire to.
Strength: D
Endurance: B
Agility: D
Mana: EX
Luck: D
Skills:
Item Construction (B+): Caster can summon a variety of tools and
mechanisms, such as pulleys and platforms, especially within his
claimed territory. He can also summon defensive war mechanisms
that attack invaders.
Territory Creation (EX): See Caster's Noble Phantasm Syracusia.
Discernment of the Poor (A): Due to a legend where Caster was
able to experimentally determine the chemical composition of a
crown, Caster is capable of seeing the true nature of people and
objects, despite attempted deceptions.
Guardian Knight (C): Caster's defensive power increases when he
is protecting other or his territory.
Librarian of Stored Knowledge (B): The massive number of
mathematical discoveries Caster made allows him to instantly
recall anything he has observed, and prevents him from
misremembering.
Noble Phantasms:
Syracusia (Anti-World, A++):
Caster's Territory Creation skill, based on his desire to
protect his home city of Syracuse and the ship he designed,
Syracusia, has advanced to the rank of a Noble Phantasm,
allowing him to create a fortified City with a strong defensive
barrier composed of his inventions. Within Syracusia, Caster
has access to an almost unlimited supply of mana for Item
Construction and other spells thanks to the Archimedes Screws
installed at various points. An Archimedes Screw is a physical
construction used to pump mana in or out of an area; they pump
ambient mana into the core of Syracusia, a sphere of magical
energy inscribed within an almost impenetrable cylinder. The
mana flow can be redirected, allowing Archimedes Screws to serve
as weapons that fire mana at attackers or even propulsion tools
that allow Syracusia some mobility. However, moving Syracusia
costs large amounts of mana and weakens its defenses for a time.
All of Caster's other Noble Phantasms are much more powerful
and efficient when used from within Syracusia.
Claw of Archimedes (Anti-Unit, D+):
This low-cost Noble Phantasm creates a giant arm, with a robotic
metal claw, that reaches from some unseen place in the sky. It
can pick up and drop enemies and carry Caster to higher
locations. It can carry an incredible amount of weight, so it
is particularly effective against larger physical Noble
Phantasms that can be picked up or dropped. From within
Syracusia, an almost unimaginable number can appear and reach
down at high speeds to attack enemies.
Great Burning-Glass (Anti-Fortress, B-):
This Noble Phantasm can only be used when there is access to the
sun, or the mana core of Syracusia. It summons a massive array
of copper mirrors from behind Archimedes, that redirect the
sun's rays to create a beam of fire that extends large
distances. The mana core of Syracusia can also be channeled in
other ways by reshaping the mana that Great Burning-Glass
directs, to produce a variety of effects such as a beam of wind,
water, or lightning.
Move the Earth (Anti-World, A+):
Caster once said, "Give me a place to stand on, and I will move
the Earth." The internal core of Syracusia ruptures, becoming
Caster's tomb: a sphere inscribed within a cylinder. All of the
mana drawn in by Archimedes Screws pours back out into the
environment, causing massive, large-scale natural disasters like
earthquakes and tidal waves from the center. After the
completion of the Noble Phantasm, Syracusia is permanently
destroyed, and Caster's mana supply decreases
drastically.

Johann Conrad Dippel
HTML https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1e/Fritz_Haber.png
Assassin of Science
Assassin was a German theologian and alchemist, born in
Frankenstein's Castle. He was known for his controversial views
on religion, and was sometimes accused of being a heretic
cultist using religion for his own personal gain. He frequently
dissected animal corpses as an alchemist in order to discover
the coveted Elixir of Life, and (perhaps because of his
unorthodox views) was sometimes thought to rob graves for their
bodies. He was arguably an inspiration for Mary Shelley's
Frankenstein, where the character of Victor Frankstein
resurrected a corpse into a monster. He uses alchemical potions
in battle.
Strength: D
Endurance: E
Agility: B
Mana: B
Luck: D
Skills:
Item Construction (C): Assassin can use his skills in alchemy to
brew potions with various magical effects, such as healing,
sleep, or death. He can also analyze the composition of unknown
liquids easily.
Presence Concealment (C+): As a member of the Assassin class,
Assassin can become undetectable until he prepares to attack.
Territory Creation (B): Assassin can create an alchemy Workshop
where he can better prepare his work. Based on the stories of
Frankenstein's Castle, the Workshop can only be created in a
secluded place, preferably made of stone with medieval
influences.
Blood-Sucking (D): While Assassin does not literally suck blood
from his victims, he is capable of using fresh human blood (or
animal blood, though the effect is weaker) to brew stronger
magical potions.
Innocent Monster (A): Assassin's controversial religious views
caused him to be hounded by rumors in his life and afterwards,
which were immortalized by the image of Dr. Victor Frankenstein,
an immoral doctor performing dangerous experiments on cadavers.
Surgical Procedure (B+): Assassin, thanks to his study of
cadavers, is an expert in dissection and anatomy of humans and
animals. This skill extends to allow him to treat wounds and
perform surgery, with the help of mana.
Noble Phantasms:
Dippel's Oil (Anti-Unit, D-):
This is Assassin's attempt at the Elixir of Life, an obsolete
repellent in the modern day repurposed for his summoning as a
Servant. Assassin can extract this foul, dark, viscous
substance from animal bones. In the hands of anyone else, it is
simply a distasteful repellent, but when Assassin charges mana
into it, it becomes a potent, though potentially dangerous,
curative tool. Applying this substance directly to a wound will
immediately cause scar tissue to form around it; with repeated
applications, it can even heal severed limbs. Ingestion of the
substance enhances strength and cures disease, but has the side
effects of increasing aggression, lowering cognition, and
causing temporary bouts of insanity.
Reanimation (Anti-Unit, B-):
Based on the legend of Frankstein's Monster, Assassin can apply
his Dippel's Oil Noble Phantasm in combination with large
amounts of mana on a human or animal corpse. This corpse
essentially becomes a 'zombie,' incapable of complex thought but
a relatively powerful tool. These zombies are treated as very
low-ranked Berserker-class Servants. Multiple corpses can be
reanimated at once, but they are a constant drain on Assassin's
mana and that of his Master. Human zombies consume more mana
than animal ones.

Josef Mengele
Berserker of Science
As a German SS Officer and physician, Berserker worked in the
Auschwitz concentration camp during World War II. His job was
to appraise people brought into the camps, separating people who
were useful for work from those who were killed in the gas
chambers. He used the prisoners of the concentration camps for
his unethical experiments, focusing on identical twins and
people with physical abnormalities. He was known to act very
kindly toward the children he experimented on, but had no qualms
about killing them when he deemed it useful for his scientific
pursuits. Berserker wears a lab coat and wields an oversized
scalpel, in addition to various medical equipment such as
syringes.
Strength: B
Endurance: C
Agility: B
Mana: E
Luck: A
Skills:
Mad Enhancement (D): Berserker, due to his class designation,
gains a rank up to his Strength and Endurance at the cost of his
sanity. He is still capable of speech, but possesses an
extremely childlike mentality and virtually no morals. He is
incapable of complex thought or planning.
Information Gathering (A+): Berserker's genial attitude and
childlike mannerisms make him fail to register as a hostile
enemy, except to those with extremely advanced informational
gathering abilities. While this skill fails when Berserker is
actively fighting an opponent, it makes it much easier for him
to gain information about the true nature of his foes, a
prerequisite for his Noble Phantasm.
Mental Pollution (A): Berserker's mentality is completely
twisted, allowing him to act like a genial "Uncle Mengele" at
one moment and an insane killer the next. This gives him a
resistance to mental attacks, which generally try to target the
'average' mind.
Fog Creeper (A): Within conditions most approximating a gas
chamber (mist, smoke, and poison gas, in order of
effectiveness), Berserker can essentially teleport from place to
place when launching his attacks.
Surgical Procedure (A): Berserker is capable of performing
crazed surgeries on his victims, usually trying to correct
imperfections or asymmetry he perceives as grievous physical
flaws. While he is capable of performing most modern surgery,
any procedure he performs is likely to have unintended
consequences.
Noble Phantasms:
String of Atropos (Anti-Unit, A++):
This Noble Phantasm represents Berserker's power to decide the
fate of individuals after he has appraised them. It can only be
used against a civilian, an unprotected magus, or a Servant that
he knows the true name of. However, once activated, it
surrounds the target in a basically impenetrable chamber (a
sufficiently strong Noble Phantasm such as Excalibur could
probably pierce it) that fills up with poisonous gas, killing
the target in a few minutes, at most. The amount of time it
takes decreases the better he knows the person, and the more
they revealed to him or trusted him.
Dr. Lazarus, Caster of Spades, Divided war of 2083
Caster (Alt: Berserker)
Stats:
Strength D
Endurance D
Agility C
Mana A+
Luck B*
Skills:
Magecraft (B): Caster is proficient in most basic spells and
some attack spells in the Spark line.
Hacking (A): He can remotely control any electronic device, even
those not connected by standard wireless connections.
Mad Enhancement (E-): Less of a sense of madness and more
accurately described as a callous indifference to the state of
the world and its people. Not afraid of civilian casualties.
*Curse of Genesis (A): More of a hindrance than an ability- once
his noble phantasm is used, his luck will gradually lower as the
war goes on. This will eventually turn to Cursed by Fate, which
guarantees the servant will be killed somehow before the war
ends.
Noble Phantasms:
Seed of Madeline (Anti-Genesis**, EX)
After using this noble phantasm, Caster creates his own
equivalent to the Sanctum Sanctorum and creates life out of pure
mana, breaking the law of sentience and magic. So long as he has
enough mana he can continue to create souls out of nothing to
occupy machines, computers, androids, etc. They initially follow
orders, but as the war goes on they will begin to turn on him.
Command seals can be used on these AI as well, but once you've
run out they will become more aggressive.
**Seed of Madeline is categorized as "Anti-Genesis" as its usage
and creation lead to the continuing of the "Greater Cycle"- The
process in which a creator of life is betrayed by its creation.
As the current cycle goes, it started with God, then to Eve,
then to Cody, and finally to Madeline.
In the possible future Cody Lazarus succumbs to the temptation
of the Sanctum Key and keeps it for himself, his Madeline
research eventually leads to worldwide chaos as world powers
begin to attempt to weaponize AI. He dies in his 30s, but is
summoned as a Caster-Class servant in 2083, in the final Divided
war in which his actions lead to the end of humanity.
