Maalum: Pick Your Path

I'm sure everyone reading this has heard of Pick Your Path
books. Well, I'm going to do a Pick Your Path version of Maalum.
You are playing as Alpine Caulfield (unisex name). Alpine's race
and personality will be up to you. All you have to do is respond
to the event I put in front of you. You will know who I am
responding to because I will put their name at the top of my
post. This will avoid board flooding. I recommend that you learn
some about Maalum before doing this.

It is lunch hour. I am sitting alone, but close to other
people so I can easily hear all their conversations. There is
this interesting conversation going on that catches my ear. It
is Eugene, and his friend Faith. Eugene seems very protective of
his flower pot.
"Faith..." He asks quietly, without taking his eyes off of the
pot. "What is your opinion on... them? The humans?"
"Well," she starts timidly, "They aren't terrible, in my opinion
at least. Why?"
Eugene pokes his food with a fork. "Oh, I was just wondering...
I sometimes think they're a little scary."
Suddenly, the lights go out. Over the loudspeaker, someone's
voice is heard.
[font=andale mono]"It looks like our light systems are down.
I'm sorry, but school is cancelled for the day while we try to
work this out."[/font]
I notice some lights appearing, probably Agnies. Eugene
grabs his flower pot and holds it close to his chest,
protectively. A big-muscled Bandias approaches an Agnies and
asks, "Hey bud, what's with the light show?" slyly.
"It's a lantern. Why?" Light Show replies. I like nicknames.
"Heeey, I remember you. You're the new kid..." Big Muscles
reaches down, picks up Light Show's apple and takes a big bite.
"Welcome to Maalum!" He sneers. Big Muscles then tosses the
apple at Light Show's forehead, and hard. He laughs a little.

I stood up. "I'm tired of hanging around all you phony people.
You've got phony attitudes, and you're all ganging around that
phony jerk. This school is so phony too, I mean everyone knows
that some kids have phony powers. You don't even try to hide
it. It's time I left this phony place."
I left the phony school and began to walk to the nearest town.
Hopefully I would be able to find work at a place that wasn't so
phony.

Nitrox (This response only applies to Nitrox. It's
"nitrox-canon").
A telemarketer sees the teenager leaving. He is perfect for his
new product! He hurries up to the teen and says "Magic
toothbrush! Cleans your teeth instantly after touching them! On
sale for $15! Buy today!"
Everybody (Canon for everybody. Anyone can respond to this
except for Nitrox, since his story is already in progress).
Light Show backs away from Big Muscles. He does not want a
fight. Sadly for him, Big Muscles does. "Coward!" he taunts.
Running up to Light Show, he slaps him. "Ha!"

Nitrox Canon (Mirror in the Rye)
I pushed the marketer out of the way. "Go sell your phony
product somewhere else."
I was just about to leave the school grounds when I paused.
Before I go... I should talk to Mrs. Spence. She was always
kind to me... even when I failed her history class...
I knocked on the door of Mrs. Spence's house, which was one of
the teacher houses near Maalum Academy itself.

Mrs. Spence hears a knock on her door. She opens it.
"Alpine? What are you doing here? Are you okay?"
The telemarketer growls angrily. He needs money, so he decides
to get it by force. He follows the teenager.

"I just wanted to tell you that... I've been expelled. I failed
all but one of my classes, and I'm leaving the school now. You
were the only teacher who ever listened to me. Goodbye." That
guy still calls me Alpine... I go by my middle name now.
